  1. I agree completely. Here's one fan who won't be going to Murfreesboro. No team in the fight, just don't see the competition being as good as last year.
  2. Wow... sorry (and SHOCKED) to see that Wilson Central went down. Think they have a very talented bunch of kids and well-run program Congrats to them on a great season! As to the rest of the field remaining, I think it's Cleveland this year.
  3. I believe Wilson Central is peaking at the right team and obviously, they have the horses to win the whole thing. Good luck and bring it all back home to 9AAA!
  4. Yes, it's a shame when some coaches go to the extreme because they don't want to "single out" any particular player. Maybe it's their "team" philosophy, but I think it's a motivating factor for some players to perhaps be recognized for special honors at the end of the season. I also think coaches should be as loyal to their players as they expect players to be to them. By promoting players accomplishments they promote the whole team (and it makes the coach look good, too)
  5. Did all 9AAA teams participate in the tournament?
  6. Quite the contrary, I am not a fan of either team, but have been in attendance in the past 2 years at a few games where Siegel happened to be playing. If you reread my previous posts, I say whomever took the flash photography was a poor sport (and if in an official position, exhibited poor leadership in my opinion.) But I am also saying, it is curious for siegel to bemoan lack of sportsmanship when they allow their fans (teenage and otherwise) to be so tacky at times.
  7. You just have been very quiet on the subject of siegel's crowd behaving in unsportsmanlike ways, except to use the excuse that the "Nation" as you call it, is composed of "15 to 18 year olds". Well obnoxious behavior is still obnoxious behavior and maybe your principle should stop that and maybe Cookeville's principle should stop his flash photography ( if indeed he did that).
  8. Yes, and I think all "authority figures" need to behave themselves AND their crowd. (siegel included)
  9. I think it's odd for Siegel to complain about sportsmanship (although this situation with the camera sounds like it was). I have observed their crowd taunting others unmercilessly in the past couple of years. Maybe it's time for all to analyze their own behavior and remember its just a game.
  10. Your post jogged my memory about that Mt. Juliet freshman team from 3 years ago (I think) that ran it up on everyone. If I remember correctly, at one point that team was averaging 100 a game.
  11. Obviously Mt. Juliet has lots of firepower so its easy to say "blame Stratford, because they're weak". How would you like it if you had a daughter on that team and got beat by 80 points. Bet you wouldn't like it one bit. Not a classy move by Antioch at all.
  12. This poster is 100% correct on the issue: if you want to play at the next level you must play AAU for the exposure. ALSO, the player/family must be active in the process of getting their athlete's name out there (sending tapes, attending camps at colleges of interest, etc.) Some AAU coaches I know are much more active than many high school coaches in getting players looked at.
  13. Have never heard of this gal named Glory before but my question is how she got to Webb from Arkansas? Just wondering about the composition of DII teams.
  14. Congrats Smyrna. And by the way, District 9AAA is the toughest district. No question.
