I'd like to see the state be played in Nashville.. It's a great city and right in the smack dab middle of the state. However, my picks are....(keep in mind that I haven't seen most of these teams play bc I am an alumni of HFA) A: Goodpasture AA: Lipscomb or Greenbrier AAA: Soddy Daisy Good luck to teams from 8AA! I think Lipscomb will be a good contender for years to come. They are losing their heart of the team, Megan, as everyone knows.... Congrats Megan on a wonderful high school career! I always enjoyed playing Lipscomb. The day we beat your team was one of my highlights of senior year. However, I think the loss of Megan will bring Lipscomb on a more even competition with Greenbrier, Macon County, and most importantly, Hume Fogg. Hume-Fogg has really improved over the years. With the loss of 4 seniors last year, the new team has really stepped up. There's a ton of freshmen on the team, I was really surprised when I went to the game last week. And theres only two seniors, Sally and Lauren. They are really taking charge....good work, girls! As a whole, 8AA is probably the best softball district in the state. The past two years, 8AA has sent two teams to state. 2002-Hume Fogg and Lipscomb, 2003- Greenbrier and Lipscomb. I know this will most likely happen again. Good luck to all the teams in 8AA. CoachB22, Hey Butch! Thanks for the details...yeah I heard you guys were there. I am living in Kentucky still and won't be living in Nashville this summer. I'll make some trips home though. It would be nice to have a camping trip or something with the girls one weekend. However.... HOW DO YOU GET TO J.TRAVIS PRICE PARK FROM 65? If anyone knows...please let me know. I'm coming from Bowling Green. What time is the Greenbrier-Hume Fogg game today? I really want to go! Lauren Manna from Hume Fogg Academic has so many qualities that are embedded in a great catcher. She is patient at the plate, a good leader on and off the field, very strong arm, and an awesome bat. I played with her when I was at Hume Fogg and believe me, she is one awesome catcher. We are all proud of her for her signing with UT-Martin this year. Congrats Lauren!
