What do ya'll think would be some all star teams from each school in the upper cumberland area....there has been some good talent from that part of the state...which would win and who is the best??

what has happened? Is it no talent, or no coaching or no desire....what is it?

Question for all the upper cumberland fans out there.....what has happened to Monterey? Where has all their talent gone? Werent they pretty good just a few years ago.....what has happend on the mountain?

Just wondering...but where has all the talent gone in Monterey??? In the late 90's and early 00's they were alright always having a winning record and going to the region tournment....what has happend on the mountian...where has the talent gone?

Does anyone know who is playing in the Livingston Tourny. Dec. 27-28. And what time everyone is playing.

I agree that Pickett Co. is a good team and they deserve what they are getting. But for bringing the gold ball back up here... I don't know about that one!! Yes, they are a good team and the other night Bailey did put on a show in the first quarter. But if they run up against a team that is quick and talanted (like they will see in the state tourny) that team will shut Bailey down with good defense and who will score for the bobcats then??? They only hope for the Bobcats to get the gold ball will be for Bailey to score around 25-30 and hope that his teammates will pick up the slack if he is guarded tough. The Bobcats are good but one player cannot win you state championship (year 2002 Trey Pearson a.k.a Mr. Basketball, had 50 somethin points and still lost). To win you need a great all aroud basketball team and the bobcats dont have that, to young and not enough talent. Bobcat fans why doesnt the Capps boy get to play more. Behind Baliey he is the most athletic kid on the team, but for some reason the Wright boy gets to play before him, I like bibs as a coach but that is crazy. He came in the other night and had 4-6 points and 7-8 rebounds for a freshman that is good. He is a leaper too, this kid will be good in time. Just wonderin....

From wathching these boys play this year my voting is this (right now) Bailey Stephens Meador Why? Because I havent seen anyone stop Bailey yet! He is face guarded double teamed and he still averages 22 or so. And also his team wins, that is why he gets my vote.

[Just a quick question. Who in the world is Hermitage Springs gonna beat? I think no one. The best thing for them to do is all go the Celina aka. Clay County and maybe those boys will get a win or 2.

Here are some more names from that 1977-80 championship teams. From Pickett Co. Annette Storie Debbie Crabtree Mitzi Rich Rebecca Rains Vanessa Brown Perri Lynn Huckeby Debbie Huddleston Dorris "Doe" Garrett This team was probably the best team there has ever been in single A girls basketball. I don't think that their record of four state single A championships will ever be broken.

I have to say the Bailey gets my vote. I have seen him play many games this season and no one can stop him. If he has a bad night it is his fault no the defense. He has shown me some very good moves and his shot is one of the prettiest I have seen. I have not got to see the other boy from Clay Co. but I will watch him tommorow night.

Well, let me say that Monterey is sorry this year. First, they need some talent besides the 5ft. guards that think they can make everything behind the 3-point line. Their talent is really down. I think they might not even win 5 games this year and I dont think that has ever happened in the history of the school. What happened to their talent? Where has it gone? I fell sorry for Coach Covington because he has nothing to work with. But also he needs to step up and demand some respect from his seniors. From what I hear they give him none.

Well I can say this, Clarkrange will have no trouble with Monterey. Monterey is the worst team that I have seen play this year. They have went down hill. Their performance against Pickett the other night showed what kind of team they are and they are struggling. They are young but, the upper classman arent very good either. I would rather have the younger ones playing. Clarkrange will win by about 30 or so.

I think MHS by 6 or 7. Are the two Rachael's playing good. They were good the past couple of years. Have they improved any? Good Luck Ladies!

I read that Monterey got beat by 32 or something like that. What happened to them. I guess losing 5 seniors and 4 of those were starters really hurt them. Who was there main scorer. Will they ever come around this season?
