  1. This friday night.... McCallie vs. MBA, who do y'all think
  2. the boondock saints soundtrack is pretty awesome pregame
  3. Grapski is definately a very very good LSM who can play close as well. He looked like a heck of a player against McCallie, he definately is up there at the top for a non offensive player
  4. Id like to congratulate all the farragut players for being the classiest team that we've mathced up against all season. The kids fought their butts all night and played a very good clean ballgame. Farragut, best of luck to yall the rest of the season.
  5. the same can be said for all the stats in general, particularly when it comes to decisions in the field of all state and all american.
  6. Colpini had a good game putting up 3 goals and 3 assists i think, but Penn Brafford was the real hero putting up 3 goals and 6 assists.

    MCcallie

McCallie pulled their starters pretty early, sorry for disappointing everyone and forgetting to pull an MBA and run up the score,

CBHS or Webb have to be pretty high up there. I'm not sure how graduation was on christian bros, but im pretty sure that webb didnt have any seniors last season. CBHS is always a decent program, and as young as Webb was last season, they should do some damage these next couple of years.

    MCcallie

McCallie is definately missing Brakebill, and Chip Baucom, but they are returning alot of good guys offensively (Brafford, Hughes, Gregor).
  10. Well said redtwin, like mccallie's strength coach says your arms are for show, but your legs make the dough Theres no way any players should focus on one part of the body more than the other, you gotta squat and do it like lil jon says, "get low"

    Popularity

and while we assume that can also mean parallels, that we will also assume that wemon is another way to spell females, all this coming from someone harshly criticizing someone elses basic reading skills. Are we letting spelling fly?
  12. I think it would definately be between CBHS, USN and Farragut, I think from playing CBHS twice they seemed to be the best of the 3. They got a lot of good shots off that just never seemed to bounce in. They didn't have a terrific defense, but still seemed to be a pretty sound team. I think Webb will be very good, they have no seniors or juniors i think i heard. They have some attackmen that can play and will be a solid team in 2 years

    all state picks

The point of that statement was that McCallie, having only 1 player on the first team all state, still beat out all the other teams for the state title

    all state picks

heres what im gonna say, all states are full of crap, it only takes a first team all-state player, and 4 2nd team all-state players to win a state championship

    Reffing

Not quite true, playing at durham academy this year there were some poor calls. However refs don't and can't see everything, while it is easy to blame the poor officiating on the fact that its tough to find refs in the south, there are complaints about refs no matter where you go or play. Refs are going to make bad calls, and they normally go bad for each team. I am particularly bad about whining about calls, but still we should realize that there are always gonna be crap calls that can't be changed
  16. Tom Cupo -3g Clint Brakebill-1g Penn Brafford- 1g Charlie Kay- 1g Austin Colpini- 1g not sure about the assists

    Reffing

When McCallie played Mba the 2nd time, McCallie was man up on an illegal stick and regan came up with a huge save and cleared the ball down the field, the man from the box was released to make it even and MBA scored with 9:02 remaining in the quarter. The only problem was it was a 3 minute penalty, which started obviously at the beginning of the quarter meaning that the penalty didn't last the whole 3 minutes. When the ref was talked to, he deemed that MBA was still a man down for the remaining 2 seconds, and the goal was good, even though MBA technically had to many men on the field. MBA then won in overtime, granted McCallie should have gotten our stuff together and played the kind of game we can where it shouldn't have been a one goal game. but obviously a case of poor officiating.

    All-State

Its always a little fishy it seems. I think it stems from the way the coaches vote and rank good guys on other teams lower so there guys have a chance, not to beat a dead horse but the fact that 2 time all american clint brakebill was voted as the 6th best middie in the state by a certain USN coach remains a not so subtle reminder as to the general screwiness of the whole thing
  20. Idont see how there is any call for a relationship between mus's play saturday afternoon to their game friday night. Both teams played in blowouts on friday night 15-7 Mus/Mba and 12-4 Mccallie/CBHS

    All-State

I think Penn Brafford for McCallie has not received the accolates he deserved. He is a very good attackmen, who plays very composed heads up ball, he is a strong outside shot, and can dodge and feed very well. It seems that the voting is done more so on the analysis of points than consideration of each player. While number of points shows alot, the coaches should have considered the schedules each team played (Mcdonough ranked #2 in the nation midseason) such that just points may not exactly reflect the ability of the player. When voting merely by points, some such as the USN coach decided that a player like Clint Brakebill was the 6th best middie in the state, whereas in other posts he has been deemed by unbiased sorces to be the hands down best player in the state
