  1. By the way Baseballislife09 anytime you lose 2 guys that have started ever since they've been there and won accalades and carried the team (at times), hitting in the middle and top of the lineup, not to mention being ranked in top 25 recruiting lists then you might have lost a little more than "nothing" so give the class of '04 a little more credit then you neglected to give em.
  2. Well I stand corrected then don't I? That's really sad about Chesney, I love the kid to death he really can't catch a break can he? Well man I wish you all the best and I'll be prayin that all this stuff will work out for the best. But, still Matt Fields can do a good job over there and I'm glad to see some new guys comin in from different places especially Powell. Like I said I didn't know about any new freshman, other than the Guinn kid who might need a year of platooning and getting used to seeing 18 year old guys hurlin the ball at ya (although he's been playin against some of the top talent at his age all his life) but I just don't think a Freshman can be ready to hit off of somebody like Everett. Some of the best players to ever come through AC didn't even see everyday action til there Sophomore years.
  3. Well here's my take on the '05 season for the Mavs. With a young but improving Stooksbury at the top of the lineup and manning shortstop they should be ok there. At second they have Phillips that has started since his Sophomore or Freshman year and really bursted on the scene last year as a quality pitcher. I don't know who they have at first...although I hope they give Caleb Day a fair shake to take over the job. At third they have perhaps one of the top talents and prospects in East Tennessee if he gets his head right and matures into the player he can be...he should mature into a potential D-I type player, both as a hitter and pitcher. At catcher... well they have a very delightful problem there in which they have two or even three catchers that are very good. In the outfield... they have Jessie Webb returning with Senior leadership, along with either Matt Harmon (another Senior) or T.J. Riggs (super Junior), Cody Pack (Tons of Potential and only a Super Sophomore) along with all the other upcoming Freshman that new coach Mike Guinn is bringing with him. The pitching staff should be as good as its been in a while with Webb (potential mid-80s) , Phillips (amazing control and swagger), Chesney (Flamethrower), Not to mention a guy who (if he wanted) could be the best of the group and intimidate any hitter in the district Brandon Isabell, and whom ever else may step up. Another problem they won't have to worry about is scoring runs. With a middle of the lineup looking like Chesney, Webb, Harmon and throwin in there a Cody Pack and T.J. Riggs along with Cory Stooksberry and Cody Phillips (over .300 hitter with fewest RBIs ever) they will score runs. This team could very well COMPETE with some College teams. All I can say about this team is I wish them all the best and Coach Guinn, (AND ALLEN) just let 'em play baby they'll win some ball games.
  4. Well you know i'm not normally the braggin type but this would be the time that i look at all you people in here and say I TOLD YOU SO. I told you AC can still play I told you as long as they have the best coaches in the state they will win even with the saturation of talent that everyone is harping on. How about that sophomore linebacker that Ross kid couldn't be more proud of that kid I love him like a brother he will continuously overcome obstacles until he becomes a D-1 player. Only one complaint though how in the World did they complete as many passes to a TE in one half then they did all last yr? Just kiddin it's time to jump back on that AC bandwagon folks I know it's only one game but they dominated and they did so with a bunch of unknowns I love it congrats guys.
  5. has anybody heard about a coach close to I-75. I think his name is Larry Kerr. flat out the man can coach and motivate. Most of all he has a D-coordinator that would be one of the best head coaches out there if he wanted to take a head-coaching job. coach kerr flat out wins and without perhaps as good of athletes as most of the teams they play i.e. AE or Fulton.
  6. Powell is HUGE but they don't have a QB yet and Webb is a very good team . Webb 28 Powell 7
  7. How did AC do Thursday in there scrimmage? I went to the 3-way scrimmage and they ( although not as good as last year but who can fill shoes of players like Walker, Mounts, Rogers, Walker, Burrel, etc.) looked o.k. the only thing I noticed was that these coaches are gonna have to coach their tails off to find or mold and transform a "playmaker" who can read blocks, and openings and then cutting it up in that opening, because that line will make openings. Although that Rogers kid at TE looks solid good hands could be a playmaker. But still what impressed me the most is that they hit people and played hard just like always. Good luck coaches I know if any group of coaches can do it that group at AC can.
  8. Zach Helton without a doubt unstoppable......may not like you that much but i will give credit where it's due if you woulda come to Powell they may be talkin about a State Championship in Powell he's that good. That kid from Kingston awesome and big although i must brag i blocked him Chris Foulke from AC could be solid Lee Smith man he's big and should be pretty good i don't know about them alcoa kids never watched em play Vann now at Catholic (playmaker) will get a chance to be front pages in the paper "Vann the man" from the Comcast announcers when we played AE on tv
  9. I know AC scrimmages Farragut and SD soon and at 6:00 but will somebody tell me what day. I was told August 8 but i think that's a Sunday. Lil' help please
  10. Ok i got your inside scoop on Powell. THEY WILL BE HUGE but much to prove. this team hasn't proved they can win with size yet but don't count em out. It will be extremely hard to replace a Cole Patrick but Cody Watts is a very good athlete and that ain't just because i've known him for a long time best of luck to them but dang they play in a hard region.
  11. I don't know who Olhickory is but he knows what it's like in AC land. i put the silver and navy on and graduated last year, and yeah you're right we hit people trust me if you wanna see how we hit look up #4 that walker kid knocked more people out then anybody i have ever seen although i got the best of him one day in practice (p.s. i don't think he was lookin and he got me back a lot) but anyway about this year those guys are very young but hungry and know how to win and there attitudes are terrific they want to win and with Larry Kerr and Tony Lambert i GARRANTY you they can still hold there own.
  12. I know that AE is returning oh i don't know EVERYBODY including two all staters that beat us last year and kept us from our state championship but oh well Fulton will always be good. but............ don't ever doubt AC as long as Larry Kerr and Tony Lambert head up that team they will have success they will be young very young but watch out for em especially that o-line and LBs
  13. Hey does Anderson County not count. How about AC vs AE or AC vs Fulton or maybe even AC vs Clinton. As being a part of those games it's unreal the intensity and pride that's on the line in those games.
  14. Howdy. I was just wonderin if there's someone out there with some opinions on them country boy from Anderson County this year. I know they graduated a bunch but hey coach Kerr is one of the best. I think they have some GREAT sophomores comin up. Remember the name "Zach Ross" you'll read about him one day. Opinions? Thanks
