  1. Sounds like predictions aren't your thing. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> WAY TO GO BIG BLUE!!
  2. What kind of records did these same kids that are currently starting have in middle school as far as wins and losses? I am just curious....
  3. Where is the train horn at Portland? You can still hear it when they run out on the field. After that, it is SILENCED. Like the Bruce Springsteen song goes..."Glory Days...well, they've passed you by....."
  4. Congrats to the Blue Devils on a great win at Sycamore....That was my first trip to Sycamore, and I couldn't believe how FEW people they had in their stands on the home side. Plenty of empty spaces considering that the homestands weren't that big to begin with..... Is it always like this? The stadium lighting was very dark as well.....
  5. Portland is getting worse every week. SC 48 Ptown 6
  6. Exactly...after facing Alcoa, we should be ready for anyone and anything. That's why such a top notch team was scheduled....
  7. Way to go Blue....it's amazing that this team is as young as it is. Looking forward to next week already.......
  8. It is only natural sometimes as a fan, to question the play-calling and what not of your favorite team, as I do it myself, but I will go on record as saying that personally, I wouldn't trade our coaches for anyone. I think the world of Coach Porter. He was good to me in school, and I know he cares greatly about his players, and this community. Porter is a great coach.....
  9. Just my opinion. By the way, thanks for visiting my profile and leaving me a comment, just1np. I respect everyone's opinions, but all one needs to do is look at the scores of the Panthers with Perry at the helm in the very late 90's to 2000's to see that he took no mercy in running up the score on then-struggling teams. It seems very few Portland people post on here, but I would truly like to hear from them as for their personal feelings toward his last year or so at Portland. He left amidst a cloud of controversy....
  10. Loved it. The stands were full, and blue and white was BACK on Friday night. We still have a long way to go before we are clicking completely, but you showed Friday what BDP is all about....Good to see many old faces....
  11. MT JULIET 55 PORTLAND 6 Just because Perry likes to run up the score against lesser opponents. He did it when he was in Portland, he'll do it again to his old team this Friday because they are down. Man, don't you think Portland wishes they still had him?....Perry doesn't take mercy. He will kick the Panthers once they are down......
  12. Please quote your "source" from which you provided your "ranking" of Sumner County schools by "overall quality". Because I personally think it to be BS. You obviously have a superiority complex which leads you to rank the Sumner County schools by income level......As far as PJPII goes, looks like so far things aren't going as planned to make it Sumner County's version of Brentwood Academy and MBA on the football field....Have a nice day! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  13. I thought our boys looked a lot better this past week. Regardless that it was Springfield or whatever, that was STILL a rivalry game. As far as Macon last year, we underestimated the Tigers, and got our rear ends whooped on their home field. I don't expect that to happen again this year, but I STILL don't think we are clicking on all cylinders yet. I think it will be a good game regardless....Gotta go with my DEVILS. Macon County, I hope you bring a LARGE CROWD, as it adds to the atmosphere....just REMEMBER: 1.DON'T BREAK THE SPEED LIMIT, and 2. MAKE SURE ALL YOUR BRAKE LIGHT ARE WORKING!. Our cops like to pull people over.....
  14. Being that you don't even have the insight to know that it's "WHITE HOUSE" not "Whitehouse", keeps me from even considering this post as relevant.
  15. Greenbrier with no problem. That's my prediction....
  16. What's even FUNNIER Cat, is that White House beat you guys TWENTY-THREE YEARS IN A ROW. That means, that some people in the town of White House, were born, went to elementary school, middle school,, high school, and GRADUATED COLLEGE in the time it took you guys to beat White House JUST ONCE!!!
  17. Lookin' forward to this game. Hopefully WH can get it all clicking. They are young, but have so much potential. This is a rivalry game, so anything can happen...! GO BLUE!
  18. Thanks for this post! I for one, think this says it all. I support Coach Lassiter as well...he is a great coach and a good man, and I know these boys will give it their all on the field....Go Wave!!!!
  19. LOL...great point NoDoubt! Good luck to both teams......especially my BIG BLUE!
  20. Man, there is just something special about Coach Short. When he became Principal of Portland, their football team became a monster. Isn't that when they won state? While he was principal. Then again, Portland people say that he had NOTHING to do with the turnaround, because he wasn't coaching at all. All I know is that he was on the sidelines pacing every game pretty much while at PHS. No, not in coaching gear, but nevertheless...maybe it was just the "aura". His two seasons as volunteer coach for the freshman team at WH? Both freshman teams have went undefeated. Not to take anything away from the last two years of WH freshman team players though, as they were both successful in middle school as well..... Saying that, I think Joslin was given a raw deal and was a victim of circumstance, but I guess things have turned out just fine for him. I like Coach Lassiter and hope he gets the Wave over the hump......Good Luck Green Wave....!
  21. I'm excited. I watched the NFL Replay the other day of the Music City Miracle game, and it really made me nostalgic to the days when the stadium was rockin'. I hope VY is even better this year, but in order to take pressure off of him, we have to develop a consistent running game. The fact that they did not keep Travis Henry, in my opinion was a major mistake. The guy got 1200 yards, and that's without even playing in like 4 games because they thought (for some reason) that Chris Brown was the man. Brown has proven he can't stay healthy, so hopefully this year won't be more of the same. We also need a breakout receiver, looking at the roster, it doesn't look promising however. They should have drafted one in the first round..... Regardless, I'm just looking to get started....
  22. I hope you are right. It is most definitely an interesting matchup....
  23. The Rutledge benefit generated around $7400 for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. An overwhelming success! That should buy a ticket or two..... Check out this bumper sticker that is available for $3.50 with free shipping thru savethepredators.com: http://home.comcast.net/~37215/sticker.jpg Can be purchased using Paypal.
