  1. Actually he is 6'3 185. I have seen Bowman play and Lamon is a cut above him as a sophomore. The kid was the best receiver in Tennessee in the 10th grade. He is unreal. Randy Moss style is the best way to describe him. He had 15 TD's not 12. [Edited by bud on 2-5-03 1:14P]
  2. Let us know any new developments! Thanks
  3. Would he play offense as well? What was his freshman year of football like? Any info you have would be awesome. Thanks

    Best Juniors for '03

Lamon Williams, wide receiver from Dobyns Bennett. Made first team all state as a 10th grader. Many say at 16 he is the best college prospect at receiver in the state at this time. Believe me when I tell you colleges are very aware of him. Watch this kid, he is fun and has a great attitude. He broke most of Dobyns Bennetts receiving records with an offense that was not as pass oriented as usual. He was not a guy that had every ball thrown to him. He is amazing in yards gained after the catch. After seein many impressive players this year, I say he is the best wide receiver in the state. [Edited by bud on 1-18-03 9:27A]
  5. I know that it is awesome. Which is stronger; pass defense or run defense? Could a good passing team hurt them? [Edited by bud on 11-27-02 10:13A]
  6. What is DB's biggest weakness? What is Riverdale's? What are their strongest parts of the game. Who are all the stars on both? [Edited by bud on 11-27-02 9:41A] [Edited by bud on 11-27-02 12:53P]
  7. Will the full DB band be going to Riverdale? Considering Thanksgivng and all, I kind of doubt all 300 can go. There band is like nothing else in the state (largest and loudest by far). They are so loud. That would be an advantage for DB to have them there to to the War Hoop. I know it is so expensive to transport that monster though.
  8. True, a buddy of mine went there because he could not start at Dobyns Bennett. He made the start there and was a good player. He graduated there in 95. Also basketball was the same for him.

    DB vs Jeff County

I will ask again since my last post was at the bottom of the second page where nobody would see it. What do you guys think about if it rains? Who will it hurt. Who might have an advantage? Pros and cons, lets hear them.....

    DB vs Jeff County

What do you guys think abouth this one? Jeff County has improved, so has DB. Should be a good one! [Edited by bud on 11-21-02 9:32P]
  12. Daniel Boone is no Dobyns Bennett. I have seen all these schools play and DB would beat you like Ezell did. Promise, even in this down year. You guys think you are so invincible.
  13. Lamon Williams from DB is pretty unreal for a sophomore. Could be a real college prospect.

    DB v. jeff co

You don't spell whether as "wether". You are a fool for going on about spelling when you are not able to spell yourself. You have a very negative attitude. I bet you got made fun of at DB and you have alot of anger. Maybe you could not play ball and you settled for the chess team. I bet you never got any, that is why you are so mad.
  15. As a team that scrimmaged both Maryville and Morristown West I can say that Maryville take this one by 14 points or more. I know a scrimmage is not a huge determination, but I know the differences between the two teams. My opinion again is Maryville by 14 or more.
  16. I would argue that Dobyns Bennett draws at least 6,000 per game and over 8,500 for South, Science Hill, MBA or another big game. I have been to Maryville as well and DB fills up a larger stadium in my opinion. I will say the Oakland/Riverdale game is hands down the biggest crowd on average in the state. Trust me guys, you can't get close to those numbers. At least 12,000 every time and sometimes closer to 18,000. Again though, that is at MTSU. [Edited by bud on 9-16-02 8:26P]

DB v. MBA in week 0

No team will dominate. I say that MBA will be out of there element in upper East Tennessee. More fans, more noise, larger stadium, a 300 member band blasting the War Hoop over and over, much rowdier and louder fans will give DB the advantage by 7. I have seen MBA play in state chamionships and those games don't even have as much noise or as many people. Expect 12,000 to 14,000. Some people think that these things don't effect the best teams, but they (MBA) just have not seen a place like this. And yes I have been to the Father Ryan/MBA games and Brentwood Academy/MBA games DB is out for blood, trust me.
