Oh come on CPU man! Glad your son did not go to DB? DB fans are down on DB? Some fans are down on DB, but you can't tell me South fans were not down on South after last years loss to the Devils. We all have die hard fans and fans that question every move. I am die hard DB.. DB has killed me of late, but I cheer on. I will say that the pop warner feeder rocked. Why did we quit that? Marchett Barnes hugely overrated? First of CPU Man (you know I am ribbing you here) Marchez Barnes was not rated high. He was maybe a D III player, but a pretty good high school player and he was not on any radar so he could not have been overrated. This kid from MUS sounds and looks pretty solid. I have not heard if he is really coming here or not. But to say DB is a bad choice? Maybe he has no choice. Remember he is a minor and must go where his family takes him and that is probably going to be where a job is. If you aare saying any area school is a bteer choice then DB, forget it. South can get far in the playoffs only because they play other uppereast TN schools until the upper rounds. DB plays out of area teams in round one sometimes. DB has been to the semis 3 times in 11 years. South has been once. End of story. Until you have more then one win over a school west of Morristown, you have no room to bash DB that has many, many wins in out of the area. DB has choked in the first round of late, but the teams that beat DB are equal to the teams that South might see in the semis or even the big game.

CPU man. Teddy was a two year starter as a db. He played before that on special teams. I was trying to say that Teddy was a born receiver. He never got a chance to do that at UT. Fulmer was famous for turning stud offense players to defense.

Teddy was a force. Leave it to Fulmer to change him from his best (reciever) to a defensive back. In high school he could play anywhere, cause he was so fast. But catching the ball and burning you was his tea. UT blew it there. Ut also blew it not taking Curt who in my opinion was a 5 star had he played in a big city. All of the Throp kids were amazing. They always made plays when they were needed. From 2006 D-B beat the clock with an unusual TD play as the first half ended. Josef Throp, holding for a 28-yard field goal attempt by Mikey Alley, had to reach for the snap. He tucked the ball in and won a footrace to the pylon for a 30-0 lead. "The snap was high,'' Throp said. "I had to stand to get it. I knew it would be close but I ran for the end zone.'' If South is going to beat DB in football, this is the year to do it. But good lord, Science Hill does have some ugly colors.

Hey South fans, My favorite folks to stir up! Sorry for runnin the mouth too much the other day, I was just bored and wanted it to be like the old days on here. Anyways, I respect South and admit I think they could go undefeated this year. Yes, I said it. My question to you all? Who do you want to beat more, DB or those Devils? Looks like both are home. DB beat you bad in 2006 at DB the last game we played. Those Devils shocked the state when they upset you all last year. I would imagine that I would like to beat the Devils more, but I can not speak for you guys. Tell me. PS, I know TN High is supposed to be good too.

What is so different about the 1998,2000, and 2002 teams from now? All of these teams were able to go the distance. Unlike South, they beat teams West of Morristown. What is so different? Those 3 teams would kill anything any team in NE TN has put out in 10 years

I no longer complain about private schools, because it is a waste of time. Hard to prove. I care not. But, an unfair advantage that many schools have is the open enrollment. That will be shut down one day. You can say none of your players are from outside the real zone, but it still creates an advantage over other schools, end of argument. Quit crying. South loves to beat all the upper East TN schools all the way to the semi finals, when they are forced to play a Knoxville area power and lose. Must be nice. DB usually faces these tough teams right off the bat. Facts are slanted to make it look as if South has had more wins as of late. Fact is South has only beat one team west of Morristown EVER. Try to slant that when you brag about your easy walk to the semis.

You know I live in Middle TN now. Private schools are a hot topic here. Private schools have been made more of a hot topic in East TN now with these changes, and mid TN has had these issues for some time. Don't get me wrong at all, I am a public school kid (Dobyns Bennett and feeder schools) from K-12 and went to UTK. But the thing that is thrown up in my face all the time here in middle TN when I complain about private schools recruiting is prove it! So I ask you, not because I do not agree with you (cause I do), but prove it! How will you prove Knox Catholic recruits? They must play by the 1.8 multiplier rule and they give up bodies on that rule. But how can you say they recruit? And if they do, why not turn them in? See, what you people in East TN are going to learn is that you can't prove anything. Oh, you might have a story about star QB John Doe that went to X school, that got an offer to such and such private school. But you have no proof. If you have proof report it or shutup. So get used to it. Shutup and play some ball and try to win. The excuses and crying about recruiting are only lies unless you can prove it so don't bring that crap. I already smell it in ruse in his above comment. I don't care if you know recruiting actually is going on, it does no good unless you prove it so don't cry and just play ball. So, like they say here in Nashville, prove there is recruiting going on that breaks the rules and show it to the TSSAA, or quit bit__in! Again I am a DB public school fan. But the next target of the TSSAA will be DB and Maryville. These two teams can take students from outside their area for tuition money and it is probably not fair to other schools that can't do the same. In other words, Maryville and DB can get kids from outside their area to help, just like a private school can So, you heard it here first, that will be stopped within 4 years, and it will hurt both schools. Think about it, DB and Maryville, can have any athlete in the world pay a bit extra to play there. You think that is an even playing field? No! Hate to say it, but TSSAA will end it all.

A long way? West really? One of the worst schools in the Knox area? Proves nada. Play Oak Ridge, Fulton, William Blount, Maryville, Farragut, etc. When South wins this game it will be two games won by South West of Mtown

Don't pull out the recruiting crap on Knox Catholic. Catholic offers no aid. If they play South it is even. Kinda like how in 98,2000, maybe 2002 DB did nto complain when in 5A DB used to have like 1,500 (now 300 more) and may have to play say Riverdale with 2,500. Point is South would always yell DB had 500 more (which i know db has grown since) when they lost, but DB never complained when a scholl with 1,000 beat them in the playoffs. Point is, DB played and beat MBA, the daddy of private schools that recruited. South can't complain about playing a 2nd cousin that does not recruit.

I can think of several schools around Nashville smaller then DB or South that would whip either.

I hope for an upper east TN school to win it all. Cloudland made it to the big game as did MWest. Both got beat pretty bad, especially Cloudland. People like to pick on DB for losing early. But realize, DB plays schools from Knoxville or Chattanooga in the first round, that was the 5A life. South or any other 4A school played other weak upper east tn schools until the semis (Maryville) and got waxed. Fact, South has only beaten one school from knoxville or west. DB, does it every year. First round in 5A is = to the 4A semis. Why is it like this? I live in Nashville now and see it. I do not know why, but around here the players are bigger and faster. It does not make since, but it is true. I hate to admit it, but I do. I am hoping a school from the tri cities can break the trend.

I am going to say (from what I hear, and I think I know) that 2009 will be a down year for DB. I know other schools will write that off as an excuse by DB if they beat DB, but it is true. The team might gel and shock us all. We all know that when other schools play DB, DB usually gets their best shot, whether something is on the line or not. IF DB goes undefeated in the conference next year, I will be shocked. If South is to beat DB, this is the year to do it. But my mind thinks back to 2006, what a game. South was supposed to win. Atmosphere was awesome........................

Does not look much like an upset in looking at the opponents each team has played. MBA is also a much larger school. Looks like MBA should have won. Rankings mean nothing
