Now the coach Burkey has moved on. Who will take his place at Greeneville? I under stand that there is a lot of talent coming up. The Greeneville middle school only lost a couple of games in the last couple of years. Who will be interested in the Job?

MVP you said that parents are coaching from the stands, did you not . I ask you to give some examples. I just stated that I have not seen players looking into the stands to thier parents for coaching. You gave this as an example as to what the problem is a Rutledge. Just give me some examples. I'll state it again that I do not think that is the problem . I did not say what the problem is I just said that people close to the progam do know what is wrong. Do you think that there is no problem there other than parents? What makes you think that? As far as coaching I have not said anything against the coach on here. Have I come on this site and bashed the coach? No I have not. Now if you are asking if I like how the coach handles the Team I do not. That is my opinion and you may disagree with me on this but that's OK. I belive there are alot of problems with program and I do not think that they can be fixed quickly. I would like to see the program get back to were I fill it should be but I do not think it will any time soon.

MVP04 I do not know what games that you are talking about. I have been to a lot of Rutledge's games this year and the last couple of years and I do not see players looking into the stands at parents for coaching help . What games are you talking about only the games that they have lost? I do not think that is the problem with Rutledge girls basketball. Everyone close to program knows what the problem is, but hey the season is over the score board say's they lost 60-47. Time to move on to next year.

Rutledge is added a few very good Freshman as well to goalong with a already deep squad. The ladies will have a good year look out for the Lady Pioneers they have a couple of good Freshman pitchers that can help that already deep staff.

Back in the day when I was able to dunk I got loose for a dunk and was grabed by the ankles going for one. It is part of the game. I didn't get mad I just made sure the next Time I could not be stopped. Just because the fans like to see dunks dose not mean as a player you should just let some one go. I am glad there are still kids with pride that make the hard foul.

Well there have been some great post. Thanks for the imput I just want to see what other people thought about the subject. I just hate to think that a good coach that is trying to help young kids improve their skills and then gets bad mouthed. The coach I talked with took a young group of girls last year and won a National Championship with them and then gets bad mouthed by thier school coaches for doing so. If you ask me he's doing something right or he could not win and I think that these kids school coaches should be glad they have someone like that is willing to work with these kids in the summer. I just wanted to see what some other people thought.

So if the post I have read are correct to let you kid play AAU is not a good thing? Most AAU programs are not going to help the kids get better and if a parent is the coach they are only in it for thier kid and that is why high school and middle school coach do not want the kids from thier teams playing AAU? Is this correct? If all that is true why have so many kids started to play AAU and Fall ball? The things that I hear is if the school coach is not in control it is the wrong thing for the kids. I know that some school coaches are involed in AAU and Fall ball, but what if the school coach is only interested in one or two kids and promoting them to colleges is not AAU basketball a good way to get a kid notice by some collge scout? Some times small schools do not get much press and a kid with potential may not get noticed by collges. Let me know what you guys think!

I was talking with an AAU coach do today that is catching a lot of grief over taking a team to summer and fall tournaments. It seams like some high school and middle school coaches do not want thier player playing for any one but them. Why is that ? It seams to to me that good coach that is trying to build a program would want thier players to get as much floor time as possiable. I know Sellbyville has used these summer teams to really improve the tallent there and some of the best tallent in east Tennessee have played in the summer on AAU teams. Come on coaches let us know why you do not want your player working hard to get better.

The best one I have heard is WARM UP THE BUS.

The starters were out after the third period. I guess I have a problem with Coaches showing poor sportsman ship. From what I could see the coach was not tring to work on anything with his second unit other that scoring more points and beating the team as bad as possiable. I have also seen this in some of the middle school games I have been at in the last couple of years. Teams up with big leads and bringing the starters back in in the 4th period. I think we are seeing changes that will hurt the games and cause problems like we saw in the NBA this weekend.

I was at a game last week and one team was up more than 20 points by half time and they were still in press with 3:00 left in the game and went on to win by more than 40 points. What has changed in the last few years. Do coach believe that they are showing sportsmanship to their players by doing this? I ask a player why the coach did this and the reply was well he said he did not like the other coach. Well my question is, is the coach playing? No it the players and I beleive we are seeing more and more of this poor sportsmanship coming into all games in all sports. What is going to take to make changes and get back to doing the right thing. Coaches what do you think? Is this what we want to teach our kids?
