  1. Indy showed Dickson County how to runtheball and put themselves in position for the playoffs.
  2. Great post, I agree 100%. Don't be to hard on McNine for liking his old coaches. Thanks McNine. cbg,who would you hire? Should the search go as far as south Florida?
  3. Region 4, Wilson Central has proven they are a good team. Riverdale has been a surprise, not as strong as I thought. Region 5, lots of games left, Antioch appears to have the easiest schedule left. Region 6, Dickson County should never be left out, strong year in and out, because they can runtheball.
  4. Hey Jesse, Coach A was at Hillsboro, you could have went there, and when you graduated went to Lipscomb University and played soccer for Coach Smith. You could have had your cake and eaten it too. But, if you had been there the next year, after graduating high school, you would have seen Antioch go to the playoffs for the first time in the school's history. Then two years later, had you been there, go to the playoffs two years in a row. Sorry, man. Best wishes and much success to you., Coach.
  5. All schools have kids not pan out, nobody is exempt. You can't honestly think the schools mentioned don't lose kids also.
  6. One point you were wrong on. They were not forced out of 5A. All divisionII schools made the choice to move to their division. They chose to move because they chose to give financial aid to athletes. I agree they have played some top teams. As for going down, I knew they did not go down, that was meant to accentuate that BA only went up from 1A to 2a, 2A to 4A, 4A to 5A when talent was good enough to go up. Also had many chances to play 3A when only 3 classes ,but never would. As for playing out of state, they had to,because nobody close would play them for reasons you should know. I respect your loyalty. Thanks for the discussions they have been interesting.
  7. I enjoy discussing these topics with you guys. I admire your loyalty to BA. I enjoy the disagreements.I understand your thoughts and I hope we can continue to agree to disagree. That is what makes the world go around. I do think it will be a good game.
  8. Maybe that did not happen, but I'm sure you get the main point of the post.
  9. As a person I have no problem with him. I will always as a coach believe that he would decide what classification he could win at and play at that level. Why else play 2A one year ,play 4A the next, then 5A, only to go back down to 2A.I think he is a very good coach, but he just wanted to win and would pick where the chances were best. I do not buy the theory that he was trying to play a more competitive team to get better. He is not the only coach to do this so ,his high school coach did the same thing. Alot of schools have played up/down depending on talent and winning.
  10. They don't pan out because they for alot of reasons. If they don't have the right attitude to work hard and stay focused on the right things they don't pan out. Most feeder programs have talent and nothing else and the players never get any bigger or better and don't pan out. Kids in middle school don't have the social life that high school kids have and get caught up in other things, other than football. Alot of high school kids don't respond to being told what to do and don't pan out. Self discipline is the key. Antioch's coaches are just as good as anyones.
  11. It is a fact that BA's last coach would only play at a level that he thought would give him the best chance to win a state championship. Won championships at different classes because of this, FACT.
  12. No, I'm not trying to start anything. Most division II schools are good programs every year and you know why. You know very well that almost all public schools go up and down in talent cycles. They would not be playing you this year or the year O.J. played if they did not think they could compete. The only time any school plays outside is for a feather in their cap and a year they feel they can compete.. Every year there is a public school that could play with you guys, but they can't do it every year like you can. Even your former coach would not play at a level he didn't think he could win at. That is a fact.
  13. Any public school that plays a divisionII school is getting what they asked for.
  14. Coach Warren Dunn was a great football coach and even greater man. His influence went beyond just football,he taught us to be a man. Coach Aydelott is just one of many who followed him into the coaching field. There are more guys who went into coaching that played at Antioch, than probably any Nashville school. It will be impossible for Ron not to think of his Antioch days when he sees that blue and white uniform. He is right, it is not the same as Blue Hole Road, but I'm sure the players during his days were just as talented and alot of fun to coach. I know that to be a fact.
  15. I am teaching Weights and Fitness and coaching football. How does free sound?
  16. coachsmith81, I will be with Centennial on Friday nights. Come see us play.
  17. Good luck Friday,I can't believe ya'll are playing them, but good luck. It is 10: 30 ,I have to get ready to leave. Take care and talk to you soon.
  18. Hey Hogan , you really don't want to be in the same category with the group mentioned, do you? I bet your Head man did not know the game must be finished .
  19. Go Bears, How are you doing cs81? Hope the Bears will play hard and compete. Maybe the old ex bear will remember who he is playing. Playing tough opponents could pay off down the road for the Bears.
  20. If we play to our capabilities we will have our chances. I coach our 4 wide receivers on offense and our 2 corners and strong and free safety. Good to hear from you and hope everything goes well in your career. As for your age that does not matter, I'm glad to see you are finishing school and doing well. Come see us play and stay in touch.
  21. Bears have a tough schedule after Riverdale. Hunters Lane, LaVergne, Overton, and Gallatin. This is as tough as any schedule. Good luck Bears.
  22. What profession are going to use your college for? I hope Antioch does well, they have a difficult first two games. As for Centennial, there is still alot of improvement that needs to occur. Mt. Juliet kicked our butts bad in the last scrimmage. Our region is very good as you well know. It will be a challenge this year.
