  1. I am ready for the season to start!! Our Middle School Team is looking strong again this year. I think we have something real special happening at our school.
  2. volhead, You can get info on the Camp at O-D.com. The Camp is full contact after the first day. The last day of the Camp is reserved for the "Superbowl" where the campers are split into an offensive and defensive unit and they play "real" football for around 45 minutes. Nate Newton visited the Camp last year, the guy is still BIG!
  3. My 12 year old son has been attending the Offense-Defense Camps at Cumberland University the past 4 years. Last year was not one of their best efforts. My son had the thrill of his life two years when he blocked Jevon Kearse for three plays.
  4. Wm. Blount Tournament ran very well today, GREAT job Coach Carpenter!
  5. Steelersfan, The Alcoa TEAM has my respect, but the "celebration" or enthusiasm that SOME players show on the field is not what I want my son to see. You are correct in saying that our Team, which is CAK, did not play for the State Championship this year and we were sitting at home watching the game. However I want my son the understand that the attention that some players are bringing to themselves and NOT THE TEAM is something he needs to stay away from. I want to congratulate Alcoa on a wonderful season this year. Hopefully we will see you on the Middle School field next year, but if not we are looking forward to playing on Friday nights.
  6. I am going to predict that the current group of 7th graders at CAK will win 2 State Championships before graduation.
  7. I hope the young football players in attendance at the game or at home watching on TV are doing so under the supervision of their parents. In my opinion this not the type of football that our youth should be watching.
  8. Why is Linsey doing a Heisman pose after scoring a touchdown? Two times none the less!!!!
  9. I heard a rumor at work today that the Alcoa player's are setting a goal of 100 points against CAK.
  10. I saw two girls participate in a Middle School game last week.
  11. I agree that CAK is a Team to watch. The Middle School Team is very talented and has looked strong this year.
  12. My son has played football for 6 years and wrestled for three. Wrestling has improved his balance, leverage, mental toughness and confidence. I cannot say enough for what the sport of wrestling has done to improve his play on the football field. I encourage all football players to just give it a try.
  13. AE, I am not sure about the other Pilot folks but this one can take more than my share. However I expect statements to be truthful and homework done before making comments.
  14. AE you said that I was guilty as everyone else in this thread concerning the comments being posted. Please check my posts:404,347,342,325 and 298. You will see that most of my comments are either defending my son or his Team. I have also given credit where credit is due. I don't think I have attacked anyone in here or made negative comments about ANY TEAM OR ANY PLAYER. Even after I read where the Pilot line was "soft" and "big but not talented" I chose my words carefully and did slam other lineman or the quality of line play from any other Teams in Knox County.
  15. I am VERY diappointed in the posts I have been reading lately. I have read about prayer and Christian beliefs in our football programs but I don't think we, as adults and parents are acting like Christians. Is it possible to start talking about Knoxville Football again and stop the Team bashing and personal attacks against one another. I love football, and I enjoy talking about FOOTBALL!
  16. PANTHER, I don't want to go into great detail about how we chose Pilot, the decision was made as a family and the final decision was made by my son. Thank you for your comments concerning my son. Are you ready for Fulton? Their defensive line is tough and QUICK off the ball.
  17. PANTHER, I am almost certain I know who you are. If your initials are DB and you coach the CBFO team then I am certain. I do know your relationship with one of the Pilot coaches, our offensive line coach. But I was unaware of any other contact that you may have with Pilot coaches, my appologies. On one of my posts, #298, I congratulated Fulton and had some good things to say about their players. Maybe some other parents or other individuals associated with Pilot do not give other Teams the props they deserve by both me and my son do. What ONE player walked up to you after the Superbowl, shook your hand and congratulated you on a great year? That's right it was MY SON! For the record we received no shoes, money nor any promises to play with Pilot. We left a program that was 7-1 and 5 minutes away from home. My son was struggling to make playing weight on his Team and we decided it was time to let him eat like other normal boys. I enjoy reading the posts that everyone spends their time to write. I think a little bit of smack talk among grown adults is a good way to build relationships and pass the time.
  18. To answer your question PANTHER, yes Pilot does have playes that are not as athletic as others on Team's such as yours or any other Team. And another point, my son IS a much better football now than what he was as a nine year old when we came to Pilot. He has learned not only how to be a better football player but also a better person, A LEADER! YOU NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM THE PRAYER TOPIC!
  19. I wish to congratulate Fulton for their efforts in last nights game. They are a very talented group of kids and should enjoy a GREAT season this year. I would also like to thank Panther for his comments concerning the line play by Pilot in the game last night. I could not believe the earlier comments about "big but not talented" and "soft." Unfortunately I tape the games and zoom in on my son so I don't get to see the entire team or offensive line. But I must say that my son has proven over the past two years that he is not soft nor is he big and not talented.
