I know Pickett Co went 20-1 this summer but haven't heard about Monterey, Clarkrange, Jackson Co or Clay Co. I'd also like to hear about 8AA York and Livingston. Thanks

Unreal that even an accomplishment like this gets flack!!!!!!!! Guess what? The teams that they played were also made up of all stars from different schools. And, 3 of these girls will play together at PC, but so what? This isn't about high school teams anyway! It is about AAU teams made up of outstanding players! Unrealistic? They played by AAU rules. It was real. So where did you get this nonsense about high schools anyway? What "big name teams?" I think the AAU NATIONAL CHAMPIONS are a BIG NAME team. Just go to another site and let these well deserving young ladies be appreciated as representing how great Upper Cumberland basketball is and has been for 35 plus years.

It is hard to repeat. They had a close one with Community. certainly they are the team to beat but they will be challenged.

The Upper Cumberland's 7th grade TN Rush, AAu Team won the National Championship when they participated in the AAU National Tournament July 3-8th in Kingsport, TN. They competed against 27 other teams from around the nation and won the tournament undefeated. Playing on the team were: Abbi Bilbrey, Chloe Burton and Bailey Evans all of Pickett County; Haylee Johnson of York Elementary (Jamestown), Shelby Baily of Allardt (Near Jamestown), Kennedy Agee and Kaydee Ferrell of DeKalb County, Hailey Cronk of Rickman (near Livingston) and Kyndal Ludick of Macon County. Games: TN Rush 38 Illinois Lady Lightning 33 TN Rush 60 Georgia Metros 25 TN Rush 53 Alabama Lady Legends 21 TN Rush over Murfreesboro Force in Sweet 16 TN Rush 56 California Paye's Place 46 in Elite 8 TN Rush 49 Pennsylvania In The Zone 44 in the Final Four TN Rush 47 Indianapolis Lady Impact 39 for the National Championship! The team was coached by Josh Agee and assisted by Lisa Cronk and had an overall record of 37-3. Congratulations to an excellent South Greene team. Congratulations to the Lady Bobcats on a terrific season and two trips to the state tournament! We'll miss Tristan, Alahna, Jayna and Adriana...Adriana...wish you could have played this year!

You are the second person to spread this LIE. Give some facts. Some JC woman claims it is dirty to take a charge. It is a part of the game. These are the best bunch of young women you will ever meet. Done looking at this site for a while...too many nasty people.

Facts...I get on here to congratulate out girls. Fact...ONCE early in the year I pointed out the FACT they had two starters out. Ignorant people do not believe in facts. I RARELY get one here anymore because of people like you who tear into anyone who supports their teams. Very sad. I don't have to put JC down. I have gone to EVERY JC state tournament game supporting them. How many times have you been to Murfreesboro to support a team which isn't yours? I was there cheering for Clay Co boys last year too. I have been there many times for Clarkrange too.

As I said before, lost to AAA DB with 2 starters out...they will play in Murfreesboro. PC also has 4 starters back, not 3. It will be a tough game for both. They beat Boyd Buchanan by 16, who also had a great big girl so they will be ready.

Of course I am a Pickett fan but I hope they don't go down there thinking they could beat them by 15!!! I will be happy with a 1 point win since that is all it takes. But South Greene has to be one of the favorites. Last year Pickett led Middleton by I believe 6 at the end of the 3rd, but lost. I think this may be a close one.

You are right. Pickett only beat LA by one at home...with 2 starters out. They won by 29 at Livingston. South Greene will be a very tough matchup. PC also lost to AAA Daniel Boone with 2 starters out after beating Dobyns Bennett by 18 1 1/2 hours earlier. I know facts don't count on here. They also lost to AAA Cookeville when they pretty much didn't show up.

Congratulations to the Lady Bobcats on their blowout win...10 threes and the game was over in the first few minutes...8-3, 17-3, 20-5...JC never in the game...4 Pickett Co wins over JC this season and none close. Congratulations to MVP Tristan McClellan and All Tournament Alahna Bilberry, Jayna Ferrell, Abbi Buck and Courtney Pritchett...and the rest of our Lady Bobcats, cheerleaders and outstanding fans. I loved the themes...neon colors (later copied by JC), Country and then best last night...Super Hero...with so many great costumes! We'll all be there in full force at Boyd Buchanon!

You say this all the time and you are wrong and should be embarrassed about saying things like this. JUST how do they play dirty? THEY DO NOT. They are an excellent team ...just ask Jackson Co...lost 61-20 last night. Shame on you once again!

I agree...John Michael kept us in the game. If they play like they did though in the 4th quarter, they'll be fine. We need a strong game by Blake Hughes, threes by Dawson, Trent playing the way he has been lately, John Michael playing like last night (and most every game), Brian having another big game and Ben continuing to play outstanding defense. People forget that they start 2 or 3 sophs...

Agreed! Also, you should not be able to see who is going to officiate a game and know who will get the good calls. Certainly this isn't always, but there are a few that always hammer certain teams. Refs should not call a game when a school from their county is playing...this happened this year at least once in games I went to. There are always calls you don't agree with but when it goes one way all night it isn't right...no matter if you are the team getting the favorable calls of not.

Clay is one of the best 7A teams in years and deserve their #2 state ranking. PC matched them point for point (with a 5 point lead at one time) at home for 3 quarters but CC pulled away for their win. It would take the Bobcats' best game of the year to pull an upset. Trent Young has been very impressive and sparked them last night when they were struggling. Monterey may not be as good as the rest, but outside of 7A they were 12-10. They deserve credit and are not a bad team. I think our #4 team could beat 8A's #1 team in the region...a possible 7A sweep.

Either Jayna Ferrell or Tristan McClellan of Pickett Co should have been nominated.

Livingston is state ranked, White Co was state ranked and last year the PC team had no seniors and played them close at home later, Jackson has a 16-4 record and is #5 in the state...HARDLY a weak team. They beat Van Buren Co 17-3 by 18. Clarkrange is down.

What are you talking about??? They beat AAA White Co and they were state ranked, they beat state ranked Livingston twice...once by 29 at LA, they beat state ranked Jackson Co twice, they beat a good AAA Dobyns Bennett team (16-7) by 18. That makes 5 wins over teams which were state ranked.

PC wasn't playing well in the first half after being off more than two weeks but won easily again by 16.

So ridiculous! I gave a couple of FACTS about the game they lost. ONE POST. Just like the FACT that Clarkrange is down this year due to losing Kara Meadows for the season and Smith going to York. Those are FACTS and not excuses. I am just as proud of our 7A Clarkrange for having a great record after losing every starter. They even beat #10 AAA White Co. And why shouldn't the PC girls be congratulated for such an outstanding season and years of hard work??? PC was 4-25 in 2010-2011 and 8-22 in 2012-2013. Then went 20-9, 23-13 and went to the state and now are 16-1. Darn right I will congratulate them. I would also congratulate them if they were 0-16 and upset someone to go 1-16. So tired of you people who just have to come on here and knock everyone no matter what they say. It is sad to be so negative.

Lately after I post I never go back to see responses since the responses are usually just hateful. I decided to look today and appreciate your comments. Actually the only game they lost was to a good AAA Daniel Boone after they had already beat Dobyns Bennett 2 hours earlier by 18 and played w/o 2 starters. Last year in the state tournament they were within 2 minutes of beating state champion Middleton. Middleton is still rolling...48 in a row!
