  1. Ok, here is the story on Cville....yes, you should get off at exit 40...it is 4 lanes for a certain portion of the road. The high school is NOT by the football field. The road will come to a three way intersection...turn right onto Poplar Avenue...you will then turn right at the light/intersection for Cville Middle School...travel down this road...the stadium is on the right set back behind the middle school...get ready for some drama when you enter Herman-Osteen Field....hopefully Gallatin will win this one...i'll root for gallatin all the way until a possible Gallatin/Germantown showdown...lol...i don't think we've played Gallatin in 10 years! Long time.

    Jamborees

Shelby County Jamboree..... August 13, 2004 @ Germantown High School....7:00 Houston, Germantown, Collierville, Bolton, Bartlett, Millington, Covington, Cordova.....Covington comes to fill the 8th spot left by Kirby High School!
  3. lol--I take it you like the Cherokees?!?
  4. lol, as shown by the two supporters who have posted, you are right Big...come on y'all...I know some of you are closet Devils (not Duke)...you can admit it...I won't tell anyone at 802 Warrior Dr. in the 'boro... thumb
  5. Germantown could have a tough schedule depending on whether or not Region 8 shows up this year! Houston, Collierville, White Station, and Whitehaven could all very well be deadly to the Devil's repeat dreams if they put together solid teams. Not to mention playing Covington (3A State runner-up) and Division II CBHS at CBHS. Houston and Collierville are away games this year.

  7. I know in the Memphis area that the top rivalries are CBHS vs. MUS (private school rivalry), Ridgeway vs. White Station (Memphis City Schools rivalry, though not as intense as 10-20 years ago), and Germantown vs. Houston (Shelby County Schools rivalry--started in 1989 when Houston High School, about 3 miles from Germantown High School, opened its doors.) Of all the rivalries in Memphis, Gtown/Houston is my favorite. Although Germantown owns Houston with a dominating 11-4 record, Houston has won in the series at very pivotal times...such as the 1998 quarterfinal match-up at Germantown when a section of the visitors' side collapsed or the horrid 2001 quarterfinal match-up at Houston when the Mustangs handed the Red Devils their worst defeat in over a decade. Past those slight melodramas, the Devils have enjoyed a near constant strangehold on the Mustangs (aka Ponies); Houston: It's our name, our game, our town, BOW DOWN!

    GTOWN!

I don't know how many Germantown supporters are on CoachT--but, if you are a Red Devil or just a mild supporter from afar...give a shout out and show your spirit. GO RED DEVILS!
  9. We all know Germantown football is entirely smashmouth...very little passing. The team relies mainly on size and strength to move the ball down the field...when passing occurs, often the reason is to get a 1st down...not often will a Devil QB drop a bomb of a pass on an opposing team, though I have seen it happen...Coach Charlie White (2nd year this year) has a different approach to football than Netherland...wouldn't be suprised to see the offensive scheme change even more this year.
  10. I have to believe that my Red Devils will uphold our back to back region titles and post our 8th region title in the past 11 years!!! I believe that Houston and Collierville will both field decent squads this year....but Germantown evades both and gets to the state semi-finals if not the finals! thumb
  11. I like Germantown's away uniforms...Riverdale's uniforms were very FSU, which is neat for the whole effect....Houston's home uniforms look nice but the away wash out the players.
  12. I would have to say the best place to play in Memphis, IMO, has to be Red Devil Field (Netherland Stadium)...at Germantown High. The bleachers may not be the newest but I love the atmosphere! Franklin is a really nice place to play, by the way FHS. However, I did not have a good experience at Bolton High for the 3rd round playoff game last year. The fans, the billowing smoke in our faces and the "comfortable" amount of seating all together added up to an unpleasant time. By the way, my old name on this site was houstonsdead...but now I'm gtowngrad04! Go Red Devils! thumb
