I'm sure RBS would be excited to learn 8th graders will play for Trousdale friday night. At Trousdale, 8th graders are under a different administration than the highschool. Playing them in a highschool game would then be considered a violation under TSSAA rules. Scratch up a forfeit win for the Bulldogs.
I don't recall anyone saying their team will knock off Friendship. It's usually someone saying that about another team in an attempt to make that team look like an idiot.
P.S. I wonder who'll be the first to say it's their team's year to knock off Trousdale next fall.
Catfish - Your in fairy land. Are you saying Alcoa and Huntingdon weren't as talented and didn't have as much speed as Lipscomb? Are you saying they were stronger than Lipscomb? You evidently didn't get out to many 2A football games. Gerry, I know you have more sense than this. Come on, what do you think?
I'm sure Alcoa is an improved team compared to last year. They better be. Lipscomb is much improved over the team from last year. This from someone that respects Lipscomb and Coach Mac, but definetly not a Lipscomb supporter.
4aa- Smith County, Westmoreland, Cannon County, Upperman, York, Jackson County
5aa- Ezell Harding, FRA, DCA, Goodpasture, Harpeth, CPA, Fairview, East Robertson
Was it the refs again, or did Smith just beat Portland this time.
2004 - Smith County - Region Champs (2a school)
2003 - Macon County - Region Champs (3a doormat)
2002 - Trousdale County - Region Champs (1a school)
2001 - Portland - Region Champs (Beat by 1a Trousdale in the 2nd round)
Good thing Portland's movin' up to 4a.
I'm sure Marion has a quality team, however, Lipscomb has a very good 2a football team. Lot's of speed at the tailback and QB position, the rest of the starters would be MVPs for your average 2a school. They also have a very quick defense to match. Lipscomb by 28.
Last night Thomas Braswell was injured in a head to head collision. He had no feeling in one side of his body for much of the night. Their appeared to be swelling and bruising of the spinal cord. This morning he has got feeling back and appears to have no permanent damage. He may even be released from Vanderbilt later in the day. Thanks for the prayers of the players and fans from East Robertson and Westmoreland.
Will Houston County fold the tent since they can't make the playoffs? Houston County definetly had enough talent to finish in the top four in region 4aa. I guess we'll find out if their seniors have enough pride to buckle down and end their career on a winning note. Station Camp is betting they won't.
