I don't know who you are but you need to get your facts straight buddy!! You people still want to talk that stupid crap about someone sharpening their helmet during the 1998 season. For those of you out there that do not know about this incident let me tell you about it. The player this "SportsGuy1" is referring to is Eddie Moore. The same Eddie Moore that is a standout linebacker for TN. The captain of the football team. Eddie was a man among boys in highschool. The year was 1998 and South Pittsburg was awesome while Boyd was not very good. Eddie Moore did not sharpen his helmet to cut Boyd's players. He was a man out there he didnt need to pull anything like that. He made Boyd look very bad that game. He made a tackle and the buckle on his helmet cut Jon David Blair's arm really bad. Boyd people try to say Eddie sharpened his helmet buckle. That is such a load of garbage. I thought it was a classic moment when the two teams bet again in the playoffs. Moore got loose up the middle and met Jon David Blair about 30 yards from the goalline. He literally carried Blair on his back the last 20 yards. He proved on that play he didnt need to sharpen his helmet buckle. As for the incident where a Boyd basketball player got his tooth knocked out. What "SportsGuy1" doesnt mention is the fact that the kid from Boyd that got his tooth knocked out started the fight. Boyd had just beat S.P in a J.V basketball game. Both teams are walking down the stairs together and the Boyd player makes a comment about winning, the guy from S.P makes a comment back, the Boyd guy then pushes the S.P guy down some steps. The S.P guy then walks up the steps and punches the Boyd guy. He got a tooth knocked out. Those are the facts about what happened.

South Pitt should be ready to go in this one after that sick performance they displayed last Friday. They looked like TN School for the Blind or something. Grider should have them ready after that beating. So Pitt 34 Bledsoe 07

I congratulate Boyd on an excellent game. They were definitely on their A game Friday night. The only thing I hate is how #1 and a few other players acted on the field before and during the game. #1 especially needs to learn some class and not act like a thug. Coach Akins is a class coach and I was kind of stunned that he lets that guy act like that. As for the game I was really disappointed in South Pitt. They didnt have the intensity they have had the last several weeks. Granted Boyd is alot better than those teams, but I just don't believe Boyd is that many points better. I mean they were beating South Pitt worse than they were Whitwell, Lookout Valley, Copper Basin, Oliver Springs. Maybe they havent played up to their potential until they other night. They seemed to want the game more than S.P. They just out played S.P. in every faze of the game. I mean I still think S.P. will win the next four games and play at Boyd in the quarterfinals. Boyd might win again, but I'm curious to what some of Boyd's fans think. In your opinion will the next game be like this one? It just didnt add up to me losing the way they did. What are your thoughts?

I get the feeling these Boyd people do not respect South Pittsburg anymore. I hope we can get some of that respect back. Boyd apparently thinks they are going to crush South Pitt on Friday. I don't think so. I will not predict a Pirate win but I will say they wont be getting beat by 2 or 3 touchdowns. I would be anxious to see how good Boyd would be if they didnt get some of their players from the surrounding areas. How many is it? Someone said they had 4 or 5 boys from Marion County on their team. Im just wandering how good they would be if they didnt pull kids from other school systems.

I am not going to make any predictions. Boyd is good, South Pitt is good. Boyd has several good athletes and so does South Pitt. You crazy Boyd people that get on here and say Boyd will win by 3 or 4 touchdowns must be out of your mind. This will be a great football game. South Pitt may be a year away from whipping the Bucs when they no longer have Healy, Nelson. This one is too close to call. It will probably come down to turnovers and who can capitalize.

I think South Pitt might have a week one opening. I was told their game with Jasper was later in the year. What school are you from "WarBoss"?

I think Marion can play with Tyner. The problem they have is doubting that they can play with them. Im not saying Jasper will win but I do think if they play the way they are capable then they will not lose by 40. Tyner 41 Jasper 20

As I have said before these teams Cloudland plays are not the same caliber teams they would see from a Boyd, South Pitt or some middle TN teams. I mean I know its not Cloudland's fault because they have to play them. The only teams in the east bracket that have any shot of beating Cloudland are Boyd Buchanan, Gordonsville, and South Pittsburg. This game wouldnt be until the semifinals. Cloudland will be in the semi's before they are challenged so everyone just needs to except that and move on. Im sure Cloudland fans would agree that the only thing between them and a return trip to Murfreesboro is a win in the semifinals at Boyd Buchanan or South Pittsburg. These teams have athletes that could cause them some problems. I guarantee this. If Cloudland plays Boyd or South Pitt in the semi's it will be by far the best team they have seen all season. Do any Cloudland fans out there agree with me?

I would be willing to bet South Pittsburg competition is much stronger than Cloudland. I mean Cloudland has a good solid team, but those other guys up there are just awful. Hampton is not as bad as the rest of them, but they are better than those others so they have a good record. I mean I agree Cloudland will have a walk to the semifinals. The teams in that area regardless of classification are just awful. Region 2 thinks they can challenge Cloudland, but it won't happen. Cloudland will win their first two playoff games by 40 and they will win the quarterfinal round by at least 28. Mark it down you heard it here first.

Im not sure guys. Remember that they have a few common opponents. Tellico beat Copper Basin by 28 and Polk got beat by Copper so Im not so sure who will come out on top in this game. Seems like the race for 3rd and 4th in this region is gonna come down to the last week. Is that correct?

I bet you South Pittsburg makes it pretty deep into the playoffs. You list your top Chattanooga teams and they are at the bottom. You didnt even list them as 2nd or 3rd playoff material. What is going on with that? Marion and Grundy would beat East Ridge and Rhea. Those are two weak 4A teams. I am not saying South Pitt is the 3rd best team in the area. Baylor, McCallie, Tyner, North Jackson, and a few other 5A schools might should be ahead of them but that is it. South Pitt isnt near as strong as the powerhouses they had in 93-99 but they arent bad at all.

I have been around football along time. Beating Midway 14-6 is not anything to brag about. You beat a D.C.A. team in a scrimmage when they were missing 6 starters. Greenback plays a good team they get destroyed. I would bet any amount of money that Greenback can't beat Cloudland, Boyd, South Pitt, U.S.J, Ezell, Collinwood, C.P.A, Gordonsville and others. Say what you want but Greenback breathed a big sigh of relief when they got out of the region they were in and got in the region of the blind and deaf. I mean face it Midway, Coalfield, Sunbright, Oakdale? Who are they?

I would like to beat Boyd too, but it will be tough. I think South Pitt is probably one of the top 6 or 7 teams. Ezell, U.S.J, Cloudland, C.P.A, Collinwood, Boyd, Gordonsville, and South Pitt are my picks as far as the best 1A teams go.

If you people think Greenback is good then you have another thing coming. Greenback is one of the most overrated teams in Tennessee. Midway is not a good ballclub and you beat them 14-7. You will make it to the third round just like last year and then Cloudland will come calling and that will be it. If Greenback was still in their old region they would be fighting it out for fourth place in the region behind Boyd, So Pitt, and Whitwell.

I agree I think Forrest is alot better than their record. I read where you have had several close games. I think Forrest is a better than average team. I also think they will be surprised as to how hard it is to play in South Pittsburg. It is a very tough place to play. Not counting the one terrible year S.P. had in 2000, South Pittsburg's home record is something like 60-5 over the past 9 seasons. I think South Pittsburg will be ready for the Rockets. They know what happened last year when they got a big lead and then let up. I expect Forrest to win possibly all of their last four games, but not this week.

Whatever! This Greyfox guy is apparently not to smart. You were dominated on both sides of the ball. I mean you averaged one yard per attempt rushing. The far superior team won. Our game against Grundy was 21-20. Grundy blew you out and so did we so I think those numbers pretty much equal up. You were soundly beaten. Get over it and move on with the rest of your season. Try to make the playoffs so you can go to Lipscomb or Goodpasture.

I am so sorry for the tragedy that has struck Forrest High School last Friday. I understand he was a great kid and everyone really liked him. I understand the great loss you feel, but don't expect South Pitt to overlook you guys. It was close last year because South Pitt jumped all over you 21-0 at the start then they kind of let up and just never could get the momentum back. It kind of suprises me that all these people get on here prediciting Forrest to win. People must really think South Pittsburg's 5-0 record is a fluke. I can not believe that some Sequatchie fan says you should have beat South Pittsburg. South Pitt was the far superior team Saturday. To say that you could have beat us is a little dumb. I mean 500+ yards of offense for S.P. and 160 for Sequatchie. That is pretty much domination. We won't even mention the fact that we fumbled deep in your territory 2 times. The refs started throwing holding penalties left and right and that help keep it closer. Count your blessings "Grayfox" the score could have very easily ended up 63 or 70 - 6.

I have seen both teams play. Jasper has way to much speed for Grundy. Grundy does have a stingy defense. I think Jasper will win by a similar score as last year. Jasper 28 Gruetli 07

Last week I said Whitwell would not be Jasper. This week I say Copper Basin will not beat Whitwell. While Whitwell is not a great team they are at least an average team. Copper Basin is below average. They must have gotten really lucky when they played Polk. Whitwell 34 Copper Basin 14

Whitwell has no chance against Jasper. Whitwell is not as good as they were last year and you can't go by jamboree scores. No way will Whitwell contain Jasper's speed. I was just curious about something. Before the year started "Sequatchie" was all over these boards talking about how his Indians were the best team at the Jamboree and one of the best teams in the tri state area. They play South Pitt this week. I was curious as to how he thinks that will turn out. A month or so ago I remember he said South Pitt would lose to Marion, Grundy, Sequatchie, and Boyd. What has happened in Dunlap?
