  1. I think Webb will win this one but I don't know a thing a bout Harriman.
  2. wait but were'nt you not playing friday night?????
  3. They have all the makings to be a great team especially with a class act like Bret Connor. That kid has always been good and has just gotten better.
  4. Alcoa by however much they please.
  5. Please tell me why I should be scared of Catholic next year. I will give them Fleming and maybe Faris but who else....
  6. I do not know much about Briarcrest but I think if I am correct, ECS beat Briarcrest earlier in the season. Having seen ECS play Friday, they are a very sound football team with Hall Simmons being the backbone of the team. That kid is for real. However it is tough to beat a team twice as Pope John Paul II saw against Webb this year. This will be a good ole West Tennessee shootout and I think ECS will take it but I'm really unclear about this one.
  7. QB Fleming and WR Faris will be returning. Most of the line including Romero.
  8. This was a great game. Despite the chilly weather, this game was beyond entertaining. I question the call at the end, I would have liked to have seen a least a shot for the win but oh well. Great game and best of luck to ECS in state.
  9. ECS has a pretty good RB but that is nothing for Webb. It will be a great game but I think the spartans will get it done tonight. Webb by a last second FG by Stephen "Golden Toe" Ball.
  10. I'm gonna step out on a limb here and say Mallory Bishop. She waxed the Knoxville area girls this year and will be continuing her play at MTSU next year.
  11. Come on Wes. Have a little love for the Spartans.
  12. Knoxville Catholic will see what football is next year. The times of playing Chucky Doak and North Greene and all the other celler dwellers in 2A are over. Buckle your chinstraps boys and hit the weightroom, especially after that first round loss to Notre Dame. Catholic has some decent players but nothing to hang with the teams they will have to compete against next year if they want to be 10-0.

    Webb At JP2

Cooter, i wish you luck on the court as well and hope we can have some good wins to cheer for this year. As for the game Friday, I think will pound the rock all night and come out on top. Although Dolinak has yet to prove his passing effcientcy, I think a couple of 10-15 yard throws will be made in order to get the Pope out of the box. I see Webb coming away with this one is on a cold November night. Webb by a TD.
  14. I'm pulling for West. I don't know anything about Mt. Juliet but West has really played well this season.

    Webb At JP2

Indeed it is tough to beat a team twice. I think Webb played decent against Pope the first time they just could not convert. I think Webb will outplay JPII and win. They need too after that heartbreaker Friday night. Webb wins in a sloppy one by a touchdown.
  16. I don't agree with the AA picks. I think that Catholic will get to State but I think they will be playing someone other PJP II. It will be the winner of the ECS vs Webb game. Pope will not beat Webb again. I hope it is Webb vs. Catholic in the State but only time will tell.
  17. Come on man. Not everyone that goes to Webb is loaded. That comment was uncalled for and completely bias. I agree with Cooter and Gata the better team did not win. Webb drove the ball all over Catholic and shot themselves in the football with a fumble and a couple bad play calls. I'll give it to Catholic, but McFadden was non-existant on offense. The offense goes to Fleming whose arm I was impressed with, Farris, and Jolly. I would have like to seen OT, especially after that field goal. And Nick McFadden will NOT play at the next level.
  18. Can't put it any better than that. Its going to be a battle and I look forward to watching it. Go Spartans. Webb- 27 Catholic- 20
  19. Bearden will lose again. No Question about it.
  20. Finally. I have waited for this game all year. First, I believe the fastest player for Webb is Evan Smith. I do not know his 40 time, but Matt French who plays RB as well is very fast too and may be faster than Evan, but I'm not sure. And Yes Tyler Clendenen can tackle McFaddon. He is one of the toughest guys out there every week for Webb and easily has the strength, speed, and will to tackle whoever. Second, in response to p9morbid. Wow, shows how well you know East Tennessee High School Football. Two of best private school teams in East Tennessee and the are garbage? I would rethink that statement. Third, It has been said by a few people that Webb is a one dimensional team, however, it is widely known that if the Wing T offense is run correctly, which Webb has done this year (excluding JPII and Alcoa), is one of the toughest offenses to play against. I will admit that Webb does not throw the ball often, but Webb has always been a program that keeps it on the ground, very traditional playing style. People who are not around Webb football instantly see the lack of passing as a negative aspect and instantly deem Webb as a "terrible" team who will lose to every team they play by 3 Touchdowns. Webb beat Powell with the Wing T, Webb beat Baylor with the Wing-T, Webb jacked 250 yards rushing on an unbelievable McCallie team, and Webb will continue to be sucessful with the Wing T due to its effectiveness and constant questioning by opposing defenses.
  21. It is by no means New, but it is for sure a better rivalry than Bearden/Farragut the past few years. If the Bearden/Farragut game is going to be anything like it was there might need to be a change in regimes at BHS.
  22. It amazes me how you can say that Webb is slow. Just because Walker is a big back does not mean he is slow by any means. He is still very quick and agile. Evan Smith is the fastest player on the team. He has a ton of explosive speed and beat the "almighty" Albert Harris in the 100m last Spring in track. He is ny no means SLOW. Webb's secondary has speed as well. Tyler Clendenen is very very fast and forget the fact that he is a freshman because he plays like an very experienced player. He has run back 2 kickoffs i believe as well as a 99 interception. He is always a threat to break something loose. Dean Smith is also very quick. He has quick reflexes and can easily drag down McFaddon. The line is very quick for the Spartans also. Big Phil Mitchell is not only HUGE but quick for his size. He is able to chase down opposing QBs and also make tackles that require him to be mobile. Watch out for Webb's speed, it may not be as apparent has McFaddon but it is for sure there.
  23. I got a bad feeling about this one.
  24. This game is going to be insane. The crowd will be wild and the game should be a good one. I'm looking foward to it and have been all season.
