i still dont get why everyone is saying the wet field is lewis co. advantage i agree with traveler it slows down both teams which have a condsiderable amount of speed. so maybe the feild will dry out by friday so we can put this to rest. good luck to both teams.

congrats lewis. the refs were awful tonight not one sided but just plain ignorant. i dont know what the deal was but they couldn't figure out where to put the ball 3 or 4 different times tonight i think once the actually didn't get it right this was after a conference with the other refs. dont think it had that much of an affect on the outcome. hickman was very classy well all except #5 man what is that guys deal he ran his mouth after almost every snap im sure our guys were chirpin to but even when he got ran over after our tailback had a 12 yard run he got up yappin but that is part of the game. oh well still a good game and good sportsmanship for the most part. glad to have a region rival again. good luck to both.

i am glad that hickman is good and its great to have a great rivalry in our region again. it should be fun friday night and whoever says homefield doesnt matter is nuts. you get to play on a field that you are used to playing on and you get to be in your locker room and stay in your house until an hour or two before game time instead of being on a bus. should be a good smashmouth game. just like it should be hopefully both teams and fans behave themselves. good luck to both teams. keep it clean and play hard. lewis be a touchdown. probably low scoring.

dont know a whole lot about wboro. i just hope thier guys have a little better attitude than mtp. lewis is fast on both sides of the ball dont think a lot of teams can match up with their speed but like i said i have no idea what wboro is like guess we will see friday should be a good game.

good game last night by both teams. to those who are saying marco was provoked. that might be true but he needs to be the bigger man if he intends to play college he is going to have to deal with that stuff. the lewis co. player should know better too. that is very immature and unsportsmanlike but it happens. they both should be disciplined by their coaches .. and i dont mean suspending them just make them run some sprints or something like that. well any ways good luck too both the rest of the year.

what was the deal with marco last night after the game i left pretty quick i know he was running his mouth on the field even down by a couple touchdowns. the kick was an unintentional onside you can see #17 look down at the ground after he kicks it. the timeout was from confusion by the young qb. you want to talk about class like when mtp hit our backup qb when he kneeled down to run the clock out. i was hoping we would put our starters back in after that and try to score again. i cant believe somebody keyed your car after the game in mtp. thats classless. good luck to both teams the rest of the year.

Last time i checked missing tackles and knowing where the ball is are all part of having a good defense as well as blind sided touchdowns. Lewis seemed to move the ball as they wished from where i was sitting they punted once and didnt punch it in on a fourth down. marco broke one good run and the rest of the time he was on his butt in the backfield. I think lewis has a little more than #27 goin for them too like #55,#4,#5 and i think #17 also outsprinted daily to the endzone. So you might wanna go back and watch the game film. I could be a different game tonight so hopefully Bobby has the boys fired up and ready to put this game away. Good luck panthers!

i think you are right they have one 6 years in a row. they had to work for this one a little bit if lewis shot 15% better from the field they would have won but giles earned that game. they missed a lot of open shots and when james got in foul trouble it hurt. back to the district thing. i think the last team before giles was marshall they one the tourney beating lewis in 01 and lewis won the regular season. the year before that lewis and giles had the best championship game i can remember a double over time thriller that giles won by i think 1 point. this district needs to pull together in the region. we dont need to have a repeat of last year. pull for your district teams i know i will pull for giles and i am from lewis county. so the more people we have pulling for each other the better that is assuming some of us make it past the first round.

darren james from lewis county could be one of the best in the district. once the coach started using him last year with 4 games left he went 1-2 but his era was right around 1.00 he pitched really well in the district play in game only giving up 1 earned 2 total. if he gets a little run support this year he could be good. good fastball with a lot of movement and good curve. he had a couple of rough games last year but for the most part was good. the beginning of the year coach thought he would use him as a closer only problem was we couldnt get a lead for him to close out. he probably wont pitch much the first couple of weeks because he is still in basketball but look out for him if coach uses him right and gets a few runs to work with he could be really good.

man i forgot lewis and spring hill played thursday night. the way you were talking spring hill was already in the championship game. wait what happened oh yea... lewis won.

it doesn't take a whole lot to get a team fired up. just the slightest knock against your team and you are fired up and ready, sometimes thats what it takes to get your team to focus and not overlook a team that they should beat. as far as handing it to a player after the game i dont know who it was handed to but i dont think there is anything wrong with that just teenagers being teenagers its not like he hit him or talked about his mom or dad. i have played and been around basketball for a long time and i have seen far worse things and done worse things than that as far as sportsmanship and a few of those where from loretto so just let it go its over and its on to the next game for us.

what did our student section do that was so bad, you do play against giles right their student section is alot crazier. i know what the player did and that is not a big deal. maybe you sholdnt post "bulletin board material" on here. you did play well last night and you guys did improve. but to say we are bad sports is a little far fetched. at least now wright can get ready for baseball with his 110 mph fastball.....since it seems to get 10 mph faster every year if you ask some people...lol

i have been informed that lewis wants to have a Black Out!! all panther fans are encouraged to wear black as much black as you can. the miami heat had the White Hott last year at all their home games in the playoffs and it worked pretty well for them so we are going with a black out this friday.

lewis county fans we need you to come out friday night and support the guys as we take on giles county who we havent beaten in probably 4 or 5 years and this could be the year. giles is undefeated in the district and lewis is in 3rd at that moment. this win would be a great boost for our team and our school in general. the girls game starts at 6 and the boys will follow.

well i was paying attention. i believe that wright was guarding darren when he hit his outside jumpers only 2 threes the ref said his foot was on the line on the other those would go down as scored on wright and wright had 8 or 10 in the 4th when darren wasnt in and the game was pretty much over. i think 6 were on the free throw line in the 4th and he scored 6 on tennison. dont get me wright has earned my respect he is better than i thought i said that after the first game but it doesnt matter how good you are if you dont make your teamates win and get a W.

good call pageman. lewis won 81-63 and wright couldnt handle james down low darren had 20 and im not sure what wright had i know he scored a lot late in the 4th when it was out of hand. he may have scored 8 or 10 on darren. lewis played well offensively but needs to fix some defensive problems before fridays game against giles which i think will be a barn burner over in hohenwald. hopefully all the lewis fans will come out and show their support like they did in the hickman county game. so lewis fans come out and support your team and help them try to get a big win in the district. if lewis can shoot like they did against loretto and rebound a little better and tighten up on d like they were earlier in the year this could be a great game.

spring hill beat us in there house. they shot 20 something more free throws than lewis. remind me what happened last year when spring hill came to lewis county what happened i think we beat you guys by 20 or so and then you beat us at your place. so we will see who is going to finish second giles will finish first because they have to lose two. the big difference between lewis playing giles and spring hill playing giles is that lewis isnt scared of them and spring hill is. we played them closer than anyone in the district when we played them at their place they ended up beating us by 9. how bad did they beat you guys both times this year by like 30 something the first time and almost 20 the second. i cant wait until spring hill comes to our house.

your right darren didnt have a very good offensive game but hes not exactly a big scorer any ways. i believe wright had 4 of his against darren and maybe 6 or 8 against kyle. he is a better than i thought but he is not that great. that was one of the worst games lewis has had in a while and we still one by 17 so i think it might be a little worse over in the barn.

i agree if lewis plays like they have the last couple of games this wont be close. lorettos big guy hasnt played anyone as physical as darren or as quick as kyle. it will be up to loretto's perimeter guys to win this one and i think lewis has a very large edge in in that area.

yes lewis is 1 -2 in the district. they lost to spring hill and giles. the game was very poorly officiated but that didnt cost them the game. if they play the way they should the shouldn't lose another district game until giles comes back around. darren james didnt play a whole lot against giles he got a technical against centinnial and coach sat him out the first quarter. which is a team rule that im glad a coach sticks to eventhough it may hurt his team. darren also tweaked his ankle in the centinnial game. that and the fact that the giles game didnt count in the district was the reason darren didnt see alot of floor time. no reason to get him hurt worse. the first game against giles darren had i think 13 boards and pretty much dominated the second half on the glass and kept giles off the boards. so hopefully when giles and lewis play again it will be for the district if not lewis should be playing for second.

yea nation i think in the first half we were sluggish. if you noticed coach kept darren and braden on the bench a little more than usual so they would have a little more energy in the late part of the game. we have had a problem closing games out. from what i saw his strategy worked darren had a strong second half and braden came in a agressive. if we can have darren and kyle have around 30 pts. together and around 15 or 20 boards and chance chase and boomer play smart and under control like last nite we can do some damage in the district we are a much improved team and seem to get better every game. ethan, derrick,ben and miles are playing well too. with cane getting back in the mix that makes us ten deep and not too many teams are that deep. well hopefully we can go over to spring hill and get a win.
