  1. I've heard the deal with the money or lack there of but I've never had it confirmed. I also heard that during the summer workouts right before 2 a days started that he was there and everything seemed fine and then POOF! the next day he was gone and nobody heard from him. They said he never said anything out of the ordinary and he just quit. I was told, that he spent all the money on new uniforms with the colors green and black. And I think everyone knows Greenbrier colors have always been green and white with a little grey. Where did the black come from . Anyway, they had to send the unis back.
  2. That is right, that's all he does. I played under Coach Smith at Greenbrier and I remember him during class and lunch with a piece of paper or napkin working out new plays. It seemed like everyday he had something new to work on in practice. His only problem at Greenbrier was his offense didn't fit the players at Greenbrier. Alot of running backs and very few good receivers and it's hard to do anything in a passing offense with that.
  3. GreenbrierCat2---- If you want to know about Greenbrier, ask someone from Greenbrier. Catfish knows names (and has an opinion) on every teams's roster, and that's about all. Kyle, Troy and Cory are all FAST. They will be all over the field this season. OTE] Kyle, Troy, and Cory are fast, but Cory has graduated, although little brother Justin Pigg isn't too slow himself. thumb
  4. over the last couple of years the greenbrier/david lipscomb has become a pretty big rivalry since everytime they play something seems to be on the line
  5. or how many haved worked in the tobacco field???
  6. page's mcmurray is a good rb but herndon has had a few games where he did not get near 100 yards, creekwood is the first to come to mind, due to the fact that teams are keying on him, so with the numbers herndon has put up so far says alot. still he is on track to get the same numbers as last year if you think about it and doing that for two years is a very very tough thing to do.
  7. i would like say great game to the bobcats on the win, congrats on clinching the region for the second year, but the reason im posting is to say how cool it was to see the respect shown after the game between both teams. while greenbrier was in the locker room i was standing outside waiting on them to come back out and i seen #22 from marshall county approach the fieldhouse door. while they welcomed him i dont know what was said inside the room but it had to be something good and when he was leaving coach sorrells was shaking his hand and talking to him. marshall county you guys played a very physical game and really turned it up in the 2nd half. keep it up and you will surprise some team in the playoffs. good luck bobcats next week on the road with giles and lets hope #10 is alright and gets well soon btw marshall who have you lost to this season cuz you looked like too good of a team to have the 5-3 record?
  8. there was a rb from greenbrier, derrick lucas, that was a mr football as a junior and ran for around 2,500-2,700 yards that same year. what makes it more remarkable is that he was deaf and could not communicate with his line and teammates. i dont know if you want to call him one of the best but he was one of the best to come from greenbrier
