  1. He did play for Vanderbilt. What university did you light it up for?
  2. Say what you want, but CPA is fun to watch again. A squad of gym rats with a 6'6" center rejecting shots all night is a sight to see. Maddux seems to be getting the most out of his players. They're not afraid to shoot. Look for CPA to make a run this year or in the near future.
  3. It's not about bashing the players; it's the method for picking the all-state team. What were the PC players' stats, by the way, just to get an idea of what it took to make the all-state team? I agree that the TFCA vote should be the more accurate vote if the stats are correct.
  4. I'm sure Fairview and Harpeth are happy.
  5. I was equally confused over the selections. How does someone make all-state and not even get a mention in their own all-county selection?
  6. The TFCA all-state selections were in the Tennessean today.
  7. We (CPA) tried to get Goodpasture to make mistakes. They were few and far between. They deserve to be where they are, trying to get back to State. Good luck to both teams, no injuries. We're nursing a few dings.
  8. Is this the last of the Skogen dynasty at Temple? What an athletic bunch! I've been hearing about and seeing them for years. I know the two older ones played basketball at Mercer, but left. What are they doing now? Good luck to Seth.
  9. Are you thinking of John Vaughn from BA? There's no Josh Vaughn on Auburn's roster. John Vaughn kicks for Auburn.
  10. CPA will have Lowery back next year but the 15 seniors are gone. Coach will figure out something.
  11. He's Justin Parris. He works extremely hard and is a great student as well. I'm sure he'll play at the next level if he wants it. He is a junior.
  12. Goinginsane, are they mistakes or is the other team putting the pressure on so that you make errors? If a defense is swarming the QB who then throws an interception, or a receiver is tackled and stripped of the ball ---are those mistakes or good defense? CPA forced turnovers against Camden and Goodpasture forced turnovers against CPA. I say just good defense.
  13. Advice to Milan: DO NOT RUN THE BALL UP THE MIDDLE! To do so is wasting a play. As CPA found out tonight and should have learned 3 weeks ago, you will be stuffed. Get ready for a great team to come to town. They make few mistakes. Just enjoy the fact you have one more week of football.
  14. What is the status of Evan Webb from Lipscomb? I know he's been hurt. Will he play?
  15. We've got people to get the job done, too. Good luck to you and yours.
  16. Let's just wait until tomorrow night to have all the questions answered. Go Lions!
  17. It has nothing to do with Goodpasture, just sports in general. There's an article in the Tennessean today talking about Davidson Academy and how they moved a player from running back to the defensive side. He could have whined about it, but instead has embraced it. It's not about individual stats, it's about the TEAM winning games. CPA this year doesn't have any one person that stands out (other than Lowery at QB). We throw to several different people, and we have several defensive weapons. Some people have had an outstanding year because we needed them to step up, and they have.
  18. CPA doesn't have a #1 stud. That's what makes this team different than what they had, say, two years ago. There are lots of options on offense as you'll see Friday. No secrets revealed here. TEAM BALL--WHAT A CONCEPT!!
  19. All the same goes for CPA. We didn't have all our players, and I believe Coach Mathews and his staff know a thing or two about play calling. This wiil be a chess match. Can't wait!!
  20. You must not be a player. Your coach should be worried if you have any role on Alcoa's team.
  21. Before this thread is closed and I go to bed, I have one word for Music City....IDIOT!!
  22. Let's move on to CPA vs. GP, Part II. The game is coming like we hoped. Will it have the same results or a CPA upset?
  23. If "ifs and buts" were candy and nuts.... You are comparing apples and oranges. Give it up, Papatiger. As for Camden, congrats on your season. #5 was the man tonight. Nice facilities, nice people. I had my crying towel just in case we lost. Good luck to you next year.
  24. Saw an article in the Camden Chronicle that has been circulating through CPA today. So this is becoming the "Country Lions vs. City Lions"? Hey, we put our camo on one leg at a time just like you. You'll be pleasantly surprised how down to earth we "city lions" are. I'm afraid my '91 Ciera won't make the trip (brakes and shocks are questionable for road trips), so I'll be in a Silverado. The fans will have a nice surprise for you "country lions" after the game. Look over at our stands at that time. We love you, Camden!!
  25. This game is OVER. Why is this thread still active?
