  1. More transfers now? One answer to that.... $16,970 per year.
  2. A lot of CPA fans probably know nothing about Coacht. Do you attend games because graciousness in defeat is demonstrated. Again, SOME kids (and some immature adults) brag about their team. Not unique here. Please...take the last word.
  3. Always thought CPA demonstrated graciousness in defeat with kind words and applause. "Bravado"? SOME kids will show bravado...always have. The maturation process may help with that. Hope you've found peace.

    Who's up next for CPA?
  5. The exceptional athlete might leave because of a bad coach. Some just give up playing a sport because the coach is bad. You are mighty lucky to have a good coach...don't see that many, private or not.
  6. ...LIKE A DOG WITH A BONE, for Goodness sake!! We could really use you for important matters, Kbrks.
  7. Kbrks coached basketball for six years at CPA. For the next EIGHT years he has been complaining about how the program has been run. Oh, if only you'd put that energy toward something worthwhile! I wish CPA would move to DII if only to give you an opportunity to work on a new project. GO LIONS!
  8. If you are a fan/parent/player of a particular school what is with the sharing of injury information?? Why don't you share playbooks, too! Full disclosure sounds like a great idea!!
  9. They're egging you on, kbrks. Resist!
  10. No, go ahead and play the Fab Five.
  11. Oh, contrare! I'm not a CPA hater at all. As far as my credibility, you wouldn't know a thing about that because I choose to keep most of what I know to myself rather than fuel the Coacht fire. I will say that the current athletic atmosphere at CPA is a far cry from just a few years ago. I preferred the days when a CPA kid could play a sport and be a part of a team with a chance of playtime. The only kids I recognize now on the basketball team are riding the pines.
  12. Harsh words. Are you an adult with a sad little life? Kbrks has basketball knowledge and certainly did better than the AD who was the previous coach.
  13. AD's son played for Maddux in middle school, and the team was successful. AD wanted the team and his son to continue playing for Maddux. Somebody had to go for that to happen. That's the simple explanation for the change.
  14. Please don't bite on this, kbrks. This thread will not end well.
  15. If Coach Warton was asked to leave we don't need to know why. Would any fired person want that info divulged? Too much stock is put into what's posted on this board.
  16. Don't want to jinx it, but CPA may have to build more trophy cases to accommodate the girls' and the boys' gold.
  17. This game is not a gimme! Good luck to both teams!!
  18. Now that is class! East Lit got to the finals of the State last year having plowed through public AND private schools. Things happen...one less than stellar game and you're out. It happens to publics and privates. Thanks for being "stand up" about it. East Lit had a great year!
  19. Wow! CPA wins by 2 with East Lit missing 3 shots in the last 5 seconds. Good luck to both teams in the regional tourney. CPA girls take the district by 5 over David Lipscomb. When was the last time both CPA teams won the district?
  20. ...and that wraps up this thread.
  21. CPA heads to the 10AA district championship game Tuesday night against East Lit. CPA made it look pretty easy tonight against Maplewood. Maplewood has some very good players, but they just couldn't get shots to drop. Stratford has a nice gym for the tournaments. Couldn't tell you the final score since we left with about 5 minutes to go. CPA was up about 25 though.
  22. Question...can you jump to DII anytime? Seems like you commit for X amount of years to DI or DII. I do believe CPA should go ahead and get in DII; it is inevitable that they go there. I have heard Maddox say on the radio (when he was on 104.5 in recent years) that he wants to coach at the college level only to backtrack a bit by saying he loved being at CPA. I see him riding the "Jalen train" to its end in 2 years and then moving on.
  23. I'd say not many scholarships have been obtained for the "lesser" player. The opportunity to play should be the first desire; a scholarship would be the icing on the cake.
