  1. Tomorrow is November the 2nd---Election Day. Make it the end of an ERROR. Just like Daddy---only one term. Vote Kerry-Edwards.
  2. I have to reinforce MARZ's request for your prediction of the Campbell Co/Farragut Game...Can Campbell Co make its Cinderella season last another week???
  3. I am actually glad someone else noticed the problem with the playoff bids...I could not believe when that I saw that Bartlett a team with an 2-8 record was given a bid. TWO WINS!!! My first reaction was this has to be a typo--they must be 8-2, but I was wrong...How does this happen??? Campbell Co with a winning record was unsure of their bid until the last second of last Friday's game against Karns....There is just something wrong with that picture.
  4. I have seen DB play...Watched Campbell Co just get smacked around by them...I have game highlights from other games and saw the same dominance just over another opponent. There is absolutely NO way Dobyns-Bennett will lose their first round playoff game...or their second...or their third...The semifinals and finals should be actual games where DB has to show up and try to win. I am impressed with the team--and very little impresses me, but they deserve every bit of the "hype" they get. Prediction: Dobyns-Bennett Domination
  5. To describe this game in one word, I would have to use "DEFENSIVE." It will low scoring and I fear it may be determined by one breakaway fluke play. If this happens, I can only hope it is Johnson that makes the breakaway. The school and community is standing behind of Campbell County and coupled with the home field advantage, the Cougars should emerge victorious Friday night. This may sound silly, but I am proud of these boys. They work hard and deserve this more than most. Best of Luck Cougars. I'm ready to travel to Oak Ridge for Round 2...Or ya know if Sevier Co felt like pulling a big upset, we could always host another game--somehow I am doubtin' the Bears ability... Prediction: Campbell Co: 7 Farragut: 3
  6. Lately, I have not been posting--just reading what all y'all have to say. It just amazes me to see how the Cougar "faithful" appear after a few wins. I must have just misunderstood and faithful actually means fairweather--but it is good to have the school and the community behind the team. Enough about that, I have no desire to nag---Nor to single out anyone, this is just a generalized statement. Well, I guess I will go ahead and make my prediction for Friday---I forsee a Campbell Co win. Science Hill is a good team, but the Cougars want this win and deserve it. I wish you all the best of luck and I will be there on Friday despite the two hour drive it will take to get there. Just a little reminder--Everyone go vote for Chris Johnson for PrepXtra O-player of the week. He really deserves it--especially after his excellent performance Friday against Bearden. Score: Campbell Co: 13 Science Hill: 0
  7. For probably the first time in--well ever, I actually do not have much to say. The Cougars looked good against Scott County on Friday night. It is obvious, if you've seen the stats, that Johnson had an amazing game--but I think to often, those that help him are overlooked. The offensive line has improved over time--to run, you need blockers. He broke the school's record for yards in a game, but as far as I could see he was not the only player on the field. A running back can do well just being good--just being fast, but to do as well as Johnson is doing he is getting help. People are so eager to critize the O-line...From where I'm sitting, they are doing something right. Well, enough about the past, lets look ahead to this Friday night at Sevier County. The Smoky Bears are a good team, but we can beat them. Does that mean we will? Not necessarily. The Cougars are not overconfident, if anything, they are simply out to prove themselves and gain a little respect. Believing in yourself and being cocky are not at all the same things. I see the Cougars going into Sevierville 2-2 and coming out 3-2. My Prediction: Campbell County 28 Sevier County 12
  8. Well here we are four games into the season with a 2-2 record that should be 3-1, but that is okay...We could be 0-4. To say I enjoyed last Thursday's game would be a lie; the only thing good about it was that we won. Chris Johnson looked really good--but that was about it. Our offense seems to be continually making errors that my brother's little league team doesn't make: Penalties are killing us, things like jumping offsides & unsportsman like conduct. You should never get a conduct penalty--all that does is reflect your lack of discipline & self-control, but I don't have time to preach about that today. The Cougars HAVE to be beat Scott County. It is a game we have to win. I felt that way about the Clinton game & was very disappointed. I feel like I am repeating myself by saying the talent is there, but it is. Our defense is really strong. Coach Wamp has done really well with the players he has this year. Our offense is good--as long as Johnson stays healthy... My Prediction: Campbell County: 21 Scott County: 7
  9. Shaun, you talked a lot; most of which I agreed with, but in all of that you still didn't make a prediction...I wanted to bring up a few other points and see if I could get your (or anyone else's) thoughts on these. Friday night the Cougars looked—well I just can’t seem to come up with a nice way to put how they looked, but you saw you were there. If you weren’t there, the score did not reflect how the teamed played. I am amazed with the amount of silly, stupid, & elementary mistakes the Cougars made that we only lost by three. Clinton did not take advantage of our mistakes like a team, such as DB, would do in those situations. If Campbell County plays another game that way against anyone—especially Dobyns Bennett, they will be shut out. It seemed every time there was any momentum built in the Cougars favor, something went wrong: penalities & turnovers plaugued the Cougar team…I could write off a turnover or two as the mistake of a player—more than that and I begin to question the coaching…I have heard so much about the maturity and the potential for great leadership on this Cougar team—well I don’t see that when I am sitting in the stands…Well, unless you consider one of the senior “leaders” setting an example by throwing his helmet and having a fit after a 3 & out, when he, himself, didn’t hold his blocks. Maybe I have just been disillusioned. I still have faith in these boys---But my faith doesn’t matter, if they have lost theirs…The question that keeps coming to me is are these Cougar players mentally prepared? Do they believe they can win? Because if they don’t—I know this sounds cliché, but they have already lost. Losing streaks are broken all the time—Traditions die. We, at Campbell County, have the talent to no longer be anyone’s homecoming date, but old habits die hard…If we lose—or may have already lost—the vision & belief that this year is different, it will just turn out the same. Change is something you have to make happen. Are these players the Cougars to do that??? Whether we win or lose—I am & will be one of the Cougar faithful…@$#
  10. Prayers are going up from Campbell County--May she have a speedy and complete recovery...And may God watch over that family in this time of struggle.
  11. Not that I feel it matters at all who I am---I don't care to tell you. I'm a senior at Campbell County High School--My father coaches little league ball & even though I'm a girl I love football at every level: little league-high school-college-professional. I've been around it my whole life. So before anyone jumps to conclusions about me & my knowledge/understanding of the game, I know my stuff. I'm a diehard Kentucky fan--so I'm used to losing. It is alright though--Can't be a fairweather fan, which seems to be what a lot of people who support the Cougars are. At the beginning of the season, there were so many Cougar faithful---where have they all gone??? Just wonderin'.
  12. As someone who has seen Campbell County play and knows the talent on this Cougar team, I have to pick CC over SD...There could be several potential problems for the Cougars--all of which that they would be creating for themselves. I am a little worried that the boys are not as mentally ready as they were going into game one. If they can bounce back from two losses, this team could still be good---the talent is there. I just hope the heart still is. Enough talking here is my prediction: CC: 14 SD: 10
  13. well, shaun...i guess i should feel priveleged that you actually acknowledged that there are girls on COACH T, but i really don't....You are just holding on to way to much hope for your---well our cougars...I am lossing faith fast, because I feel though we have the talent, the boys have mentally lost the vision...but, don't feel to bad---your prediction was half right. I don't mean to sound so critical of the Cougars--I'm probably one of the most loyal fans you'll ever meet. Being loyal does not mean being blind---I am critically supportive. It is Tuesday, can we look forward to a prediction for Friday's game tomorrow??? Be objective... Best of Luck Cougars---
