  1. What a gutsy game by this overmatched and undersized tribe team... great season guys, you did more than anyone expected you too
  2. From those stats alone it looks like Ooltehwah has the advantage on the offensive side of things, they also don't allow as many yards on defense. But DB allows much less points... Somethings gonna have to give in this game, either ooltehwah doesnt score nearly as many points as theyre used to, or DB gives up a lot more points than they have all year...
  3. If DB wins but doesn't score any touchdowns there gonna be in some major trouble the next 2 weeks...
  4. That upsets me that I won't be able to watch this game on the internet... leave it to the tssaa to outlaw anything that wont help them gain more money than they already have... Here's my take on the game... Last years game was really close and one of the best games I ever witnessed... It also had one of the strangest events occur that I've ever seen in any game ever. If you base this game solely on each teams respective performance against Oak Ridge, then you would think that Ooltehwah holds a huge advantage in this one... But this is a completely different indian team than the one that played against Oak Ridge... Coach Clark has gone back to what has generally been Dobyns-Bennetts strength through-out the years... Lining up and running the ball right down the opponents throat. The key to this Dobyns-Bennett team is being able to pound the ball with their big fullback Pappas. They also have to their advantage a really big/strong line that blows open a hole that Pappas runs into, he kicks out a linebacker and Bingham, or one of their other really fast backs, hits so fast that by the time theres an opponent around them theyre already in the secondary. These succesful runs open up the passing game. Owl fans, is this team as big a fan of hard-hitting as last years team was? I specifically remember some licks being laid by owl players... One of #21 Stephen Moton and the other on #74 James Weatherly... the latter of which was one of the more humerous events of last season... My cell phone hasnt worked in weeks, so email me next time your coming in and ill give you my dorm # or Jennifers Cell phone # seeing as how im usually with her
  5. Reno, its good to hear from you... my sources in ktown told me you had dissappeared and were replaced by a ghostly reappearance of the famous stumpy #44... Thats kinda scary... Sorry I didnt come see you, I was really busy but if DB makes it to the 3rd round, ill be back in ktown for that on and if not ill be back the next week for our thanksgiving break, so ill let you know which one. I mean your more than welcome to stay with me for the Vandy game, but I hear the days inn on the strip is really nice...
  6. True, but then you get into the debate of what exactly constitutes a flagrant hold... so anyway you look at it, its a judgement call...
  7. Reno.. Im gonna call you and find out the score tonight

    DB vs Bearden

Here is what I think about both teams... Bearden has always been a team filled with talented athletes. It seems like every year that we play them they have about half the team running 4.3's and kickers and punters that can kick the ball to the moon. Another thing I have noticed about bearden is that they have yet to utilize this talent fully. They are one of those teams that should not be having the lack of success that they have had in the past. Well with a new coach maybe they will turn things around... If so this is gonna be one tough game... Dobyns-Bennett... My alma mater... it feels weird saying that but anyway... This is a very talented but very young and inexperienced team... Every time someone asks me how I think they are gonna do I have one thing to tell them... They will start off sloppy and slow but by the end of the season, once they have a lot more experience under their belts, they are gonna be one heckuva football team. As for the substitution penalties and delay of game penalties. Well that will turn around with practice and experience trust me, I know for a fact that they work on that all the time in practice. So look for them to improve on that as the season goes on. And play-calling is another thing that will get better as a team matures. Have any of you ever thought that it isnt coach clark not calling a lot of plays, but that the team is so inexperienced at this point that coach is trying to make sure they have the plays down that they run now, before adding new ones? I gurantee this is the case... and it is a sign of a great coach not to try and overload a young team. So mark my words, as the year goes on and the team matures the number of different plays will grow... Maybe the tough win last week was all this team needed... So my prediction is as follows: DB-17 Bearden-14
  9. Yeah cause you know... they lose so much and everything...
  10. Thinks???? that they have... Ok I've pretty much been reading and keeping my mouth closed but I have to say most DB fans, players, and coaches have more class in their pinky than south has as an entire community... And for those of you who disagree with me than tell me this... Why is there almost always fights at DB South games, but never fights at any of DB's other games??? When DB get vandalized who is it usually? South... sounds like class to me I mean i was perfectly content sitting and reading all of the posts until you go and say something like that... I mean if you have beef with reno ill let you take it out on him... but to bring down the entire DB football community your just asking for it... good luck the rest of the season and hey man... you wanna prove db people wrong about stuff do it on the field...
