  1. It doesn't really matter. Everyone knows West TN will dominate in Murfreesboro.
  2. Perry Co. couldn't play dead in a western!!
  3. 14 strikeouts or otherwise he went through the entire lineup like a circle saw through a 2x4 after the second inning!
  4. David, I am looking forward to visiting Riverdale again this year! Get the Pearl Jam ready!!
  5. There was no reason for the coach to make a scene or argue the ejection. As far as I know that has never gotten an ejected player back into the game. One coach had already made a spectacle of himself for his own benefit. Why should the other one be expected to? It was a ridiculous ejection, and no amount of arguing could reverse it!
  6. He asked for a clarification on where the pitch missed. That's baseball. All I'm saying is let's track the rabbit the way he went!
  7. If that is a little then what is a lot? The only difference I noticed was that everyone in the park could see the 1st base coach going nuts, and no one knew that Gant said anything until he was ejected. So the point you are making is that there is no problem with a coach showing an umpire up just to be seen, but no matter how professionally it is displayed, a player can never express frustration with an umpire. I thought you were finished discussing this anyway????
  8. We all know he didn't get tossed for touching the umpire because he never touched the umpire. So you are saying he didn't get tossed for talking, just saying certain words. Still sounds like talking to me. If the conversation had anything to do with a monkey and a football, then I agree totally! That's about the only way I can think of to describe the officiating of Friday night's game! I remember when pointing at an umpire repeatedly and making a fool of yourself from the 1st base coaching box could get you an early exit. I guess actions really don't speak louder than words!!
  9. What was the argument about? Why would there be a possibility of the score being overturned because of questionable calls? I wasn't at the game, but I heard something about a rulebook being torn up or something. I'm guessing the argument wasn't concerning balls and strikes or any other judgement calls.
  10. I didn't see this one coming. Who pitched for each team. I don't know much about Southside, but I would've lost money if I had to bet on this one. What happened with Odle and the umpire?
  11. The rain never got any harder than it was when the tarp was initially put on. The point of the tarp as I understand it is to extend play in rainy situations. There were no other games on that field last night after this one. As far as I know a slider is legal and so is a fastball. That's what was doing the damage last night.
  12. The worst of the rain was over when the game was called. It was very unreasonable to stop at that point of the game. If it was only in the 2nd or 3rd inning it would be different, but it was very close to being complete. The hardest rain only lasted about 10 minutes. I think the 3 K's that stranded a man on 2nd the previous inning had more to do with the decision than the weather.
  13. In the West, USJ should be as good as anyone this year! Above average pitching, and solid at virtually every position!
  14. Sorry I had to miss all the action today! MC has a fine team, and good luck next year!! Thursday will be a test for the Bruins, but I'll probably have to catch it on the radio again. You've got to hit your way out of the loser's bracket ,and USJ is starting to hit like they have all season.
