  1. OH GOD cue "FBE" and the Maryville crowd to remind you that Alcoa is terrible in comparison to Maryville High School. I'm actually surprised that they haven't already made a comment.
  2. wow is all I have to say. You evidently have no life considering you either: 1. are totally obsessed with me 2. have so much time on your hands that you dig through 3 month old threads in order to say "HAHA YOU WERE WRONG." For some reason I feel sort of weird about that, like you might show up at my house with an axe or something. Way to be a total psycho Mr. Weirdy Weirderstein.
  3. that's actually the truth, I think Alcoa had over 100 yards of penalty yards in arbitrary personal fouls in JUST the first half. The referees were completely clueless.
  4. Don't say that I didn't tell you so. I would suggest having SUB FORUMS for the plus members only. This would be motivation for people who HATE the general forum to become plus members. Otherwise, the general populous can hang out in the general forum with all the chaos. The quick, back n' forth replies are what keep message boards alive -- there is no debating that.
  5. The point in what i was trying to say is this. All that "clutter" breeds a successful message board. A very small inconvenience for some people is a HUGE success for this website in the long-term. I am happy to go on the record here. Sub forums are the beginning of the end to the popularity, and more importantly growth, of this website. I won't say anymore than I already have. I would have prefered to PM coacht rather than pubically post this.
  6. Since I don't have the capability of private messaging you, i'll just type it here I guess. I've been posting on internet message boards since I was about 13 or 14 years old (many years ago). The theorhetical concept of "sub forums" is great, not unlike communism; however, "sub forums" are the kiss of death. If you are interested in the growth of this website I would absolutely strongly suggest switching back to the old way. As chaotic as it may be, having ALL the people viewing/posting/flaming in the main football forum is GREAT for this website. With sub forums there will be less posting overall, and certainly less interest across the board. I'm sure you're a smart person and have taken all this into consideration already, but i'm speaking from a lot of experience in posting on message boards. General Mayhem, TribalWar, Something Awful -- the top 3 message boards on the internet -- none of them went to sub-forums until they had 1 million posts.
  7. I think it's pathetic that the SAME Maryville fans hijack every thread with "Alcoa" in the title. I can't click on any meaningful threads anymore because the same idiots ruin every thread. I use this message board to try to keep up with Alcoa's season, and after 2 pages it always turns into "Hey look over here @ Maryville -- we're jealous of Alcoa getting any press!" It's the SAME people over and over and over again. I'm just sick of it, so instead of complaining anymore I am just not going to visit this site anymore. Im just disappointed that the site admins don't ever do anything about this problem. Locking threads is only a temporary solution. By the way, there are a lot of really cool Maryville fans. I'm only talking about the same few people who insist on trying turn every thread about Alcoa vs. "somebody" into a Maryville is GOD over Alcoa thread. Shame on the Alcoa fans involved as well, because they are just as much of a problem.
  8. Alcoa would be moving DOWN by going up to 3A.
  9. did alcoa call off the dogs, or did they only score once w/their starters in the 2nd half? Nevertheless, i'm surprised they scored 42 points.
  10. yeah I agree with you. I think 1A is weaker than 3A, but 2A is definitely more competitive across the board than 3A. That blows a lot of people's minds so I quit saying it about a year ago.
  11. dude Alcoa played the defending 4A STATE CHAMPS Maryville, the defending 3A STATE CHAMPS Fulton, a perrenial power from Kentucky, and one of Chattanooga area's best teams McCallie. You're just misinformed.
  12. I think technically Alcoa doesn't qualify for 1A in football anymore. In basketball they might still qualify. But they are right on the cusp, and have a long way to go before being moved to 3A.
  13. i'm not saying Reid calls bad plays -- I just think he's a redneck. I didn't know anything about him at all until I read his quote in the Daily Times about how "...[hoptown] couldn't have beat [alcoa] if they brought people out of the stands." Then the retarded dancing before the Maryville game, then looking across field to sarcastically clap when CAK scored their first TD, then the 3 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties at Fulton for end zone celebration. A perfect example of the contrary is Maryville. It's been said time and time again, but it's true. Maryville wins every year vs. alcoa with inferior athletic ability and better disciplined players. I would want to emulate that as much as possible, but Reid seems totally content with letting the players do their stupid monkey dances and endzone celebrations anytime they feel like it. I realize that's more than JUST a head coach's problem to worry about, but that's where the buck stops. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is Alcoa has the reputation for being a "thug school" with a bunch of cocky/overly confident players -- and that's pretty much right on target. I graduated from Alcoa so don't talk to me about being out of touch.
  14. the facemask on the kickoff was OBVIOUSLY not on purpose. They were running right at one another and the guy returning the kick made a juke, the guy from Alcoa reached out and grabbed his facemask by accident. I don't believe ANYONE would grab someone's facemask on purpose and rip someone's helmet off. It was definitely a personal foul/15 yard penalty, but worthy of an EJECTION? My God it's football! That kind of stuff unfortunately happens sometimes. I'm glad the guy from Loudon was okay. The personal foul on Warren toward the end of the game was questionable as well, it could have gone either way. He dropped the pass and turned around with a guy right in his face, so he lowered his head a little and made contact. It looked a lot worse than what it was just because he's so much bigger than the Loudon player he made contact with. I can live with that being a personal foul just because it may or may not have been unnecessary. The guy from Loudon didn't even fall down or anything. I liked Hawkins from Loudon. If he were on a good team he would be super super good. As far as Reid not having control over his players, I totally agree. They are incredibly undisciplined. It seems like every game there is somebody out there dancing and acting retarded. Against Fulton last week there were like 2 or 3 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties for endzone celebrations. I don't like Reid because I don't feel like he conveys the right attitude, you can say what you want but it's evident on the field that "goofing off" is "okay." Coach Dalton or Fugate (past Alcoa coaches) would not tolerate that kind of behavior for ONE second. Sportsmanship is a big part of high school football since the kids are still maturing and trying to learn what's right and what's wrong.
  15. yeah FBE is just a zealot/troller -- every team has one or two of them. (irony?)
  16. Fulton is better than Loudon. If the Alcoa starters play in the 2nd half I will be surprised. It's LOUDON -- it's like saying Iowa is going to win the national championship in NCAAs. Give me a break. I first predicted 42-0 Alcoa, but since Loudon actually believes they're going to win the game i'm going to say 56-0 Alcoa. If Loudon scores it will NOT be until the freshman team is playing for Alcoa.
  17. If you're just going to rank teams based on who has the best record, why even do a poll? Everyone with a lick of sense knows that Catholic HS couldn't beat Alcoa. I can understand perhaps having Central over Alcoa, but Catholic and MoWest over Alcoa is a complete joke. Alcoa beat the defending 3A state champions by 40 points last Friday...Catholic beat AE (who lost to KARNS).
  18. no kidding man. Fulton's QB really got them beat. I heard that he wasn't the normal starter, and that COULD have been a really big difference in the game. I mean, they threw like 3 picks and the QB fumbled like 3 times. Nevertheless, Fulton looked absolutely terrible. I was definitely surprised because I was expecting them to at least make a few plays.
  19. Like i've said a million times, 3A is the easiest division in the state.
