As for basketball, you guys make routine visits to Murfeesboro because you play great opponents like... Polk Co, Meigs Co, Tellico, Midway and not to add 2A Classification. Who is next on the Charger "rampage".... Sewanee School for the Deaf and Impaired? Good luck in Murf. Now enough of the bball. Central just has some problems putting points on the board.... and an even larger problem of keeping them off. If you cancel those two small factors then be ready for a run at a region title baby! I dont think anyone on this board can explain why or how Central can do this year in and year out. Who knows... maybe they will turn it around. Coach Williams is a good coach from what I have seen and maybe under his leadership he can do it.

Thanks for the clarification of the score J Rock.... I heard faulty information, but the bottom line is Central did get spanked and it was bad. real bad. And Central does not "dominate" in basketball year in and year out. It seems that its usually a split between the two squads for quite some time. A man by the name of Blake Cobb (6'6", 225) will lead the squad in bball and I will expect another split. Besides... this is a football post so back to reality.... Central will have another one win season despite their "youth" and abundance of pure athletes.

Riverdale/Smyrna and McMinn Co./Ooltewah. Both will bring the hype and the battles. Gotta love them Friday Night Lights!

There are only so many years you can be a "young team". I believe 5 years and a 2 and 29 record kinda speaks for itself. I really dont know what the deal is. Losing (and being shut out) by Polk Co. (21-0) is not a very good promise to an on-comming season. I just dont think there is much talent there. Im interested to see the score of the "Cross Creek Battle" My prediction..... Cherokees- 52 Chargers- 7

Ha yeah we tend to try to have a selective memory about some games.... which game are you talkin about again StayNSkool..... Better yet lets not get into that. I do agree with you on the very tight game part. This one will be wild and Im not thinkin it will be unlawfully out of hand, but it will be loud... you can bet on that. I know that we have a tremendous amount of respect for ooltewah's program and the the vibe i am getting is ooltewah has that same respect for us. This one will be great. about 2 more days from right now.....

That is a valid point dmoyers... but I like to think that in a rivalry game emotions run even. It seems that the teams both come out for blood and the score usually depicts that.... I just dont see this one getting too out of hand... one to two posessions at the most. Bottom line... I think Central will be just too much to handle late in the game. This one will be close early with the Cats pulling away hard at the end under the leadership of playmaker Helton.

I think StayNSkool has a great point on the first part of his post. Both teams will be soo amped they will go for the kill right off the bat, but I am thinkin the Tribe will be at the better of the game at the end. As a lifetime member of the Cherokee faithful, I can say we will never get disheartened, so that option never existed. J Rock is right... look for Johnson to come up big as a Freshman. GO TRIBE!!

Reaction... you are right... anything can happen under those Friday night lights but I am gonna have to agree with J Rock on this one... not in this game... the D's are too fast in this one and I think these teams may try to battle it out through the air and then go to the ground game to decide it. This will be a hard nosed game. Im ready to see some big hits. I will be surprise to see these teams COMBINE for more than 35 personally.

I agree with you TribeGuy. I was thinking along those lines. These teams will have some tricks up their sleeves, and they will be ready to pull them out at will. Both teams have athletes and they will use them at will. This game will be perdominantly on the ground but they will use their QBs to throw it thru the air more than they have in the past as long as the O-Line can block. By the way... I am feelin your pain about those pesky ACT ppl...

This West - Central rivalry is a good one. I am thinkin West will miss Jackson at QB and I am gonna pick Central over West in an offensive thriller in a game that two great teams collide with undefeated records on the line.... Central- 31 West- 24

I think Jason Millard is a great young player... I went to golf camp with him and I htink he is unbelievable... give him a few more years and he will be unreal.... as for right now... Jeremy Cox Ryne Fisher Tripp Harris

I know for a fact i could be Jim left handed b/c I have done it my entire life and he is a scrub.... but shows promise and is my understudy. Hopefully he can help Brett lead the Tribe to a state title this year. He is showing promise.... but needs to watch how he puts that wallet on the line.....

Sorry I have not posted sooner. My CoachT account has been messed up so I had to create another one. This game has so much hype built up around is... as it should. It will be a classic battle of two of the best ground games in the area and two very soild defenses. Both teams have great backs which has already been established in one of the other 58 pages on this topic. McBride, Locke, and and McDermott will share carries as will Caldwell (an unbelievable back), Hydas, and Williams. I can not wait to see this game under those beautiful Friday night lights. My prediction..... Cherokees- 21 Owls-17 OT This one WILL be down to the wire and I cant wait to have a nice dinner somewhere and I think this one will epitimise what HS football is all about.
