  1. I am not a DBO fan, I am not a Gayturd fan, I am not an Alcoa fan, but Deion24 is ok in my book most of the time, and you may know me in the other life but not in this one...but guess what I know you!
  2. New phone...text me when you get a chance 931.319.0669.
  3. As for the game, I will just say looking forward to it. I think my prediction for this game this year will be accurate.
  4. Looking forward to seeing you too Big Daddy...how ya been boy? Football is here!!!
  5. "They are flipping the coin at midfield and it's heads!!!!"
  6. I shouldn't comment, but I guess want to refute this post. I AM NOT ON THE COACHES NUTS. I never said it was a bad decision or not. I simply stated the reasoning by the coaches via the radio show and by me personally asking a couple of them. You can get on here and second guess them all you want to, that is on you. I'm sure they got broad shoulders. They are men, they don't need a keyboard cowboy like me to get on here and fight their battles. Again, I am not trying to defend their decision. As for CPA goes, this goes further back than this thread. Like the Termite said, he has been bashing everything related SC for two years. Of course he has the option to get on here and say those things, just like I have the option to get on here when I personally get my mouth full of it and say what I think about it. Don't misunderstand me. The SC boys didn't play very well Friday night in my opinion, but were still fortunate enough to get a win. Before you go hoping that Gordonsville deserved to win, the boys in black also wanted to win and also showed heart to get the win. That has nothing to do with a decision here or a decision there. Kudos to the boys in black just as you say to the boys in blue. So Bowden, please step away from the ledge. It's amazing what all is said on these boards about any team when they don't play or coach like some expect. It's one rough game, AND THEY STILL WON! On to Hogeye for me.
  7. I asked the same question...I have never seen a late hit penalty that didn't result in a first down. Both of those calls were actually the first times for me.
  8. Hey Bowden, I think Maynord & coaches would rather have a win anyway he can get it in that situation...JMO.
  9. FWIW Me: "So why didn't you kick the field goal at the end of regulation to win it?" Words From A Couple SC Coaches: "Well, for one we didn't like the angle. We felt like it was a tough angle for our kicker to make that kick from the right hash on the 1 yard line." Me: (After reading coachT, I thought I would ask some of the questions on here), "So why didn't you just position yourself on 3rd down in the middle of the field so you could make the field goal with a good angle?" Coaches: "The kicker has been injured all week in practice and has not kicked one ball all week. Some inconsistency in pregame because of that. We felt we could get 3 yards in two plays." Me: "You obviously felt good enough to send him out there for the first extra point in the first overtime, what's the difference?" Coaches: "We scored first, that's the difference. If we had been on offense last in the first OT we would have went for two again." So whether you or I agree with any of it. That is the thinking. Flame away.
  10. Actually, I better quit posting on here. I have got to fired up on here today and I may not be welcome to the family dinners after the way I've acted.
  11. Like someone else said, they should let you in for free with you carrying the entire Big Blue Tiger nation on your back on CoachT
  12. My thoughts exactly. But I better be careful, with all that cheese he's got, he may handle me.
  13. I actually bought it up last year when he was on his soap box remonstrating on here about this and that. I mean don't get me wrong, everyone has an opinion, and not one person's opinion last night saw the Owls being a very good football team at this point.
  14. Your elitest attitude makes me want to throw up and swallow it.
  15. not going to say that is wrong cpa... i would rather challenge my kids to get 3 yards in two plays...either way...you can't do both...and when it don't work out...you are open to criticism...the life of a coach...glad that's not me.
  16. cpa fair analysis...but if he missed 3 extra points the week before...would that change your philosophy when it's 3rd down and 2 and half when your offensive line averages 300 lbs. maybe so...and if so...then that would be your call. and if your tackled on the right hash? where do you think they put the ball? on the right hash!
  17. cpa it was a sweep right and manning was tackled on the right hash. it was said in the post game interview that it was because of the angle. yes the backs are young but lets be fair, gordonsville was in the backfield all night. not much running room. dropped passes was a problem, one that would have probably been a td. gordonsville played well. dominated the los. i was ready to eat crow, but somehow escaped that. if smith county brings the same to the game next week, it could get ugly for them. i'm sure la was there and liked what they saw. a win is a win, but man, gordonsville played well.
  18. That's my point, it wouldn't stand out to you, just giving you the significance of what four winning seasons and four straight years to the playoffs mean when you say they only had one good year. One good year in Baxter is a lot different that one good year in any Smith County school. The semi-final year stands out to a lot people. Upperman could go to toe to toe with anyone in the area (beat your beloved Tigers 33-6) that year. Winning Football Games = 90 Kids
  19. No, Jimmy Maynord isn't the difference by himself, SC is a special place, period! I couldn't imagine their being a better staff from top to bottom in the state. Maybe I am too close to the program and my opinion is biased. Only had one standout year? He was there 4 years, they went to the playoffs 4 straight years. They had never been to the playoffs in school history Croz and if I am not mistaken they have been one time since (I think they beat Cannon County and Jackson County both in 2006 and got in.) That obviously doesn't sound like much to tradition rich programs like SC and Gordonsville but they won 1 game in the 3 years prior to him taking the job. Not trying to brag on uncle or anything but rather trying to put your post into perspective. 30 kids go out for the team at UHS. 90 kids play football for the Owls. Relatively same size attendance if I'm not mistaken. And your right, the support in the community is not only better than that of Baxter, but also every other town that I have ever been familiar with. Again, it's a special place and I can tell you now that Smith County has been better to Jimmy Maynord than he ever will be to Smith County. Go Owls!
  20. Then again it's football and the ball bounces funny sometimes...so what I am really trying to say is...we will all see on Friday night.
  21. I think it will be hard for Gordonsville to score unless they go over the top. I don't think they will be able to line up and run over SC like Sparta tried to for a minute. Therefore, I don't see them scoring more than once...unless the QB runs a naked boot and the entire team runs from the ball carrier.
