  1. AE, It is not about Coach Stevens. It is about Superintendent Bailey not stepping up in this situation and relinquishing OUTGOING Principal Green of his power. Where was he? It is about Principal Green denying the committee's choice THREE TIMES and then just making his own personal selection. It is about AD Carringer not stepping up and supporting the committee with their selection. He should have fought harder. It has never been about Coach Stevens. It is like ORFever said, it is about the three individuals in the school administration.
  2. It is true, plain and simple. They selected Gaddis, Principal Green did not like him so he overruled the committee. Then Green selected his guy (Stevens). Thanks to the committee for your hard work and dedication to this selection process. Unfortunately, your work was all for nought. Superintendent Bailey, Principal Green and AD Chuck Carringer you all should be ashamed of yourselves. But hey, that's life. Right fellas. thumb
  3. He did apply. The committee subverted NOTHING! They made the best choice in Coach Gaddis (THREE TIMES) and the outgoing principal denied it everytime because of his personal feeling towards Gaddis. Then he decided to select his first choice from the start, Coach Stevens. Way to go Principal Green, you showed us who had the power in this selection. I have to say, I am glad you are leaving. You are not someone the Oak RIdge school system needs. PERIOD!
  4. Strung along by who? From what I read on here, he was given just as much of a shot as every other candidate. And if it is true that the committee knew they did not want Stevens, why would Stevens want to come to Oak Ridge?
  5. Sorry about that. I have not read my PM. Thanks.
  6. From my understanding, the school board has the authority to remove any authority Principal Green has. Why can the community not stand up and make this happen? Are the school board members not elected? Do many of there seats come up for re-election this year? I beg of you Oak Ridge fans, call the school board and make this a FAIR decision. Since CoachT removed the phone numbers, here is the website for those numbers. http://www.ortn.edu/default.cfm?TargetSchoolMenuID=158 Hopefully this is ok. thumb
  7. Why even have an advisory committee if Principal Green knew all along who he wanted to choose? Seems to me the committee members had no say whatsoever and their selection is being trumped by an administrator who will not even be here come football season.
  8. He was treated with all the respect. He got an interview and WAS NOT selected. How much more respect do you want? The committee interviewed the candidates and selected Coach Gaddis. Not Coach Stevens. I am sure if Coach STevens had performed well enough in the interview, he would have been offered the job. But COach Gaddis obviously outperformed Coach Stevens. Plain and simple. It seems to me you have ONE person who wants Stevens and that is OUTGOING principal Ken Green. I guess the committee was just an honorary one at that. What a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Absolutely. I am not sure who QueenBee is locking my topic of asking the principal to resign. The phone numbers are public knowledge on the Oak Ridge High School website.
  10. As previously reported by insideandersoncounty.com, the search committee selected Coach Joe Gaddis to come back home and coach the Oak Ridge Wildcats. The outgoing principal has decided to abuse his power to make one last decision before leaving for Atlanta at the end of the school year. Is this a conspiracy to get the coach he wants? Who might that be? If you think long and hard you can figure it out. I think it is time that the Oak Ridge school board, Superintendent Bailey and the Oak Ridge community ask Principal Green to resign IMMEDIATELY!!! He is doing more harm than good for this school and community. Call one, call all the school board members and let your voice be heard.
  11. All I have to say is it is a sad day when an outgoing principal controls the destiny of a school he chose to leave. I think it is time to step up Superintendent Bailey and make the right choice. You have the power to make the decision. DO IT! Don't you think it is time you start earning your paycheck here? The committee who selected YOU must have seen some qualities that fit with the Oak Ridge school system and community. Please, oh please start showing it. It is time to put this search to bed and move on to Spring Practice. Joe Gaddis WILL bring a state championship to Oak RIdge in 2005! Give him the chance. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL
  12. We will see on September 23 when Oak Ridge travels to Jeff County. I am surprised you didn't comment on this Oak Ridge boy picking an OR tailback 4th. thumb
  13. I think Spurrier would bring a certain flair to Oak Ridge, other than the Nuclear glow we already have.
  14. 1a. Spencer Gulmire 1b. Gaston Miller 2. Dewayne Caldwell 3. Chris Shiverdecker 4. Leonard Blair
  15. After all the speculation, it has been rumored that the new coach will be announced this week. What do you think?
  16. Heath, I think you have 1,2,3 right on. As for 4th, that is a little tougher. I think William Blount definitely has a shot but don't count out Farragut. Oak Ridge has a tough road schedule with games @ Ooltewah and @ Soddy. Not to mention two, out of region, games on the road @ Jeff Co and @ DB. I will tell you one thing, this Oak Ridge team will be a battle tested group come playoff time. ROLL WILDCAST ROLL
  17. I think you have to go with someone who has OR ties. Whether that be Stevens, Gray, Gaddis, Laurendine...I am not sure. Whoever gets the Oak RIdge job will have a load of talent their first year and there will be HUGE expectations for 2005. But I am sure the TRUE Wildcat fans will accept whomever is selected. I am ready to know who the coach is and get on with Spring Practice. Only 134 days and 12 hours till the first game. It will be here before you know it. I really feel it does not matter who we get because this Senior class is a special group of kids with a lot of talent and heart. They will BRING IT every Friday night in '05 and Oak RIdge will win its 9th football State Championship. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!!!!!
  18. Catscractch, My point to you is if he left the program to pursue another job, fine. But let me ask you this, why would you leave a job like Oak Ridge? If he truly loved Oak Ridge and the tradition, why leave? Unless the rumors are true. But thats right only you know why he left. To pursue another opportunity. thumb I do believe in second chances as I put in my earlier posts (but we have all now established you do not read posts before responding). I just do not think he deserves one at Oak RIdge. He left (according to you). Period. Would I support Oak RIdge if COach Gaddis was hired, Absolutely. I just do not think he is what is best for the program. Everyone has their own opinion on who is best for the Oak RIdge program. But truly no one knows until that coach steps on the field Friday night and produces. The coach that is selected will have a load of talent for 2005, so it should not be that difficult to win immediately. All I can say is, ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I have sat by watching these posts for some time, and I must respond to a few. First, Brother of "Big Ty", Coach Gaddis is a phenomenal coach. If he applied, he was without a doubt the best football coach that applied. Ask any player that played for him. Your interest is obviously not what is best for the program. You want what is best for the next year. We need what is best for the program. Nobody can bring excitement like Coach Gaddis. And so you'll know, he was not "asked" to leave. He left on his own accord to pursue another job. So, you too should know the facts before you speak. It is a shame that a bunch of gossip, jealous people, and bitter and jealous assitant coaches and cookers have started things and people take them at face value. So, I guess it's not your fault, but know the facts. He is awesome. You would love him, and so would everyone else on the team. Bounder has been making comments as well. The only person that cared what Bounder thought left for Nashville. He needs to go there on Friday nights to watch games. Hopefully we will make the right hire. If he is the best for the future, he'll be the best for next year. We need a PROVEN head coach. Oak Ridge is not a training ground or trial ground for people that want to be head coaches. Previous head coaching experience should be in the job description. 825638175[/snapback] Catscratch, I guess we have to do this again. First off, if you read my post then would have seen me say (and I quote) "Was he a great coach? Absolutely". A little advice, read before you post. My interest has ALWAYS been what is best for the program. The best coach that applied and interviewed (you know you do have to interview) should get the job. Period! We should never select a coach for one year. And if it is true what you say (the verdict is still out on that one) that he left to pursue another job then I say GOOD RIDDANCE!!! I don't care how great he is, if he did not appreciate the job the first time what makes you think he would the second time around? Man, it is just like last year. You say you support the Wildcats, I say you have a funny way of showing it. Why don't you support the Wildcats instead of having these dreams of bringing back a coach that you say "left on his own accord to pursue another job". Please, oh please come back to earth. As for your shot at Bounder, he supports the Wildcats more than you ever dreamed of supporting them. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL
  20. In 5A, I think it is easy to say Riverdale is still on top until they are knocked off. I think their biggest contenders will be: Ooltewah (Loaded, but without a coach. Should not matter with their talent) DB (Come on, it's DB. They are always in the thick of it) Soddy Daisy (Anytime you have Coach Weathers, you have a shot) Franklin (They have proven themselves as a year in, year out contender) Cookeville (Last years 12-2 record was no fluke. They will be back) Oak Ridge (Loaded once again, but like Ooltewah they are without coach. Also, they have a brutal schedule, @DB, @Jeff Co (who has one of the best RB's in Shiverdecker), @Ooltewah and @ Soddy Daisy) It will be a great year in 5A football.
  21. Only 21 days until spring practice. I cannot wait!!! Surely they will have a coach soon. Has anyone heard anything about a timeline?
  22. First off Catsractch, are you sure Cats14 does not know why Coach Gaddis was asked to leave? If so, then you obviously do know why he was asked to leave. Why not share with the rest of us? Second, is it true you would want Coach Gaddis back? I am not sure why, please explain. Was he a great coach? Absolutely. Does he deserve a second chance? Everyone does, but not here. When you have (in my opinion) the best coaching job in the state, you make sure you do NOTHING to jeopardize that.
  23. From Oak Ridge: Senior Rick Daniels-Mulholland Junior Grant Domsic
  24. DCCATVOICE, I agree with everything you said. I don't think you should only look at next season. But I do believe one (of the MANY) considerations the committee must look at is the ease of the transition. We don't need to discount the transition factor and make it more difficult on next years team (which has a great shot at a state championship) just to satisfy the next 10-15 years. Who knows what the future holds. What do you think DCCATVOICE?
