  1. Is it time for Oak Ridge Basketball yet? I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. The REAL REASON is he is a horrible coach!!!! PERIOD!!!!!!
  3. The Cats improved from week 1 to week 2, but still have a lot of work to do before Friday against DB. ALL I CAN SAY IS, THROW THE BALL TO #82 MORE! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. Yet another BRILLIANT move by our Head Coach. Take out the quarterback that led you to your only touchdown and not play him the rest of the game. Oh, did I mention the coach said on his post game show that "He was disappointed in the Oak Ridge Fans". Well, I have to say we are disappointed in you too.
  5. AMEN ProVol!!!!!!!! He sure is getting a lot of credit for last year even though everyone that followed last year closely knows those kids won in spite of his coaching!!!!
  6. Come on now ImaOWL, you cannot compare the winniest coach (with 10 or more years at one school) in college football with a coach that had one good year (with loads of talent) at Oak Ridge and then came back with a 5 -5 year. And it looks like they are headed to that same record next year. HE IS HORRIBLE!!!!!! Not to mention he complained about the Oak Ridge fans on his post game last night. Not a smart move coach. To compare Fulmer with Stevens is just LAUGHABLE!!!!!!!!!!
  7. It is sad to see the Oak Ridge program go from state finalist to out of the playoffs in one year. The head coach obviously had a great group of seniors that he rode to the Championship game last year. He of course choked at the Championship game by passing to set up the run when you had one of the best running backs in state history (Spencer Gulmire), a great O-line and the "DARK SIDE" defense. Coach Stevens has a lot to work on before next year. Oak Ridge fans will not take losing PERIOD! Of course, if we have a season next year that mirrors this year then that puts Oak Ridge in the same position they were 2 years ago. Looking for a head coach. And we know how that goes, they select a search committee, they go through interviews, select a candidate and the superintendent/outside influences reject the committees recommendation and select their own candidate. Great job on that one. Basketball can not get here soon enough. Roll Wildcats Roll!!!
  8. Ooltewah wins 23-6. It is a sad state of affairs for Oak Ridge football this year. Coming off a great year in 2005 and to be 5-4 and not making the playoffs in 2006 is embarrassing. What is Coach Stevens doing? He obviously had no clue how to handle losing our star quarterback Conner Gulmire. He started Soph Tyler Clark tonight and he led the team down to a touchdown on the first drive. He then made a mistake on the next series and he did not play again. What the heck are you thinking coach? You handled that about like you handled the entire season. Hopefully you can figure something out in the off-season, you will have plenty of time to think about it. I will tell you this, one more season like this one and you will have to be sending out your resume. Congrats to the seniors. I am sorry it had to end this way. Go out and beat the Admirals! There is one good thing that comes out of this, we get the basketball players after next week and we can concentrate on basketball come November 14. Roll Wildcats Roll!
  9. AMEN ORnole!!!!!! I am tired of people commenting on games they did not even see. (I.E. Denlron) It appears he was at the Ooltewah/Rhea Co game. Wait, maybe he had payperview and watched the Oak Ridge game that way. My bad. thumb
  10. Well said Cdragon. You all never quit and that is the true heart of a champion. You all just keep practicing hard and good things will come to you all.
  11. Yeah Bball, let's tell our 3's and 4's who went through 2-a-days and practiced there guts out to lay down after the first hit. Let's not try to increase our depth for the season. Let's not try to prepare these 10th and 11th graders for years to come. There will be OR football after this year. Let's just teach them to lay down? Please tell me you are joking.
  12. Let's see, of the 51 points you speak about they score 5 touchdowns running and 1 passing and one int for a TD. You do the math! You think they shoudl have run the ball? It would have been 100-0. It was better OR was passing as opposed to running. They were trying to keep the score down. Come on Spang. Get real!
  13. I apologize for not knowing the players names. But I believe it was #10. I have to say #20 is a hard nosed, gutty football player. I have no idea why they did not put it in his hands during the overtime. They ran it with #3 twice and then threw it twice. Ooltewah absolutely DOMINATED the first half, but some outstanding adjustments by Cookeville at halftime and MANY MANY cramps on Ooltewah's side made for a much different second half. These two teams should be proud of their first game despite the normal first game mistakes and look forward to many wins during the 2005 season.
  14. No, but oh what drama it would be if it did.
  15. I guess great minds think alike. thumb I think Gray could do well in Ooltewah. I do know that Hamilton County is having a heck of a time with their budgets. It would be a difficult situation to go into, but one I think Gray could excel in. Who needs 2 tickets? I got 2 on the 50 yard line at "The Nest" for the Oak Ridge game. What'll you give me?
  16. I would not doubt that he is interested. But you know where a better fit would be? Ooltewah. He could go to a school that would be competitive immediately, but most importantly he could go to a school in the same region as Oak Ridge. Man would that be some game in October if he was the Ooltewah coach. They would probably be scalping tickets for that one.
  17. Grad, any word on a coach? Have they completed the interviews? Whoever it is has a load of talent to work with in 2005. Good luck to the owls and I look forward to the Oak Ridge/Ooltewah showdown in October. Roll Wildcats Roll
  18. Amen Orforlife. It is time to put this horrible process behind us and support Coach Stevens. He is a proven winner, a players coach and an Oak Ridge Alum. You can't do much better than that. Now on with spring practice. Only 10 days away and I cannot wait. This team will be dangerous every Friday night and will no doubt excite the fans. We need to rally all Oak Ridge fans and take what is hopefully a joyous ride to the state championship. Congrats Coach Stevens and bring us that ring we have so desperately been waiting for since '91.
  19. You forgot: OR @ Ooltewah OR @ Soddy The Wildcats have some kind of road schedule this year. They will definitely have been tested come playoff time. Does Ooltewah have a coach yet? GradFromTheNest, do you know?
  20. That is the truth. They have been shutting them down left and right. But from what I gather, as long as you don't disrespect someone or call them names then you are safe. WHewww. Did I say anything wrong there.
  21. The expectations for Coach Stevens this season will be the highest. You know why, because Oak Ridge is loaded with talent. If Coach Gaddis would have been the coach, you know what the expectations would be? Just as high as they are for Stevens. There is no difference in expectations at Oak Ridge from 1950 to now. Oak RIdge always expects to win it all. Have they done that since 1991, no. We will see if Coach Stevens can get the job done. I hope he can. But if he does not win it all, there will be doubters just as there were for every other precious coach at Oak Ridge. You are trying to make this a Coach Stevens issue. It is not a Coach Stevens issue. He will be supported by all TRUE Wildcat Fans. And as I said earlier, the expectations for 2005 will be HIGH! VERY HIGH! This was an administration issue. Let's be clear on that.
  22. If I remember right, I don't believe any head coach can change assistants. DCCATVOICE would know more about this. As far as the quarterback position, of course with a new coach anything can happen. But as far as looking at last year, it would be Connor Gulmire and Revel Coffey vying for the starting quarterback. I would have to go with Connor. He seems to have the talent and swagger you need to make those quick decisions on a big time level. No matter who was named head coach, as I said in previous threads this team returning is loaded. The Wildcats should be the favorite to win it all in 2005. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL
  23. Every other Oak Ridge thread on the coaching situation has been closed for name calling. Be careful what you say or they will close this one as well. By the way, I didn't know slithering in the grass was name calling. Man do I need to brush up on my name calling. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL
  24. They should be the ones taking the heat, because they are the two that made the selection. Well, make that Green made the decision and Carringer went along with it. Where was Superintendent Bailey again? ROLL WILDCATS ROLL
