  1. You finally got it right there knucklehead. You didn't come out in the 2nd half with a modified game plan to deal with changes that any good thinking opposing coach would make. YOU failed. Not the team. And quit blaming the team when you are the ones that failed them. The team started making mistakes when the reality of their situation set in on them mentally (coaching). It should have never come down to that last play. Your blindness to this is symptomatic of the problem. After hearing your fat mouth on here I'm back to just what you "suggest" - fire the whole lot, if they're like you (and I hope they're not). But that can be arranged. You need to go back into the shadows. CoachT, time to shut this thread down.
  2. All you've done is prove that I'm right about you and your real message in that post. You don't have enough courage to stand up for changes that will move this program forward out of the stagnation it's in. How many players do we have to loose next year to convince you? How may fans have to call it quits to convince you? How much more laughing and taunting by the DB haters? What I hear from most of these folks here is loyalty to DB, the football program, and the tradition - not to the current coaches. Not so from you. You have to get your football fix regardless of the price. They want to see the program move forward. Dang, I can't believe how much respect I have for Waco, Art, and others right now.
  3. Sounds like you're just a little too close to the coaches to have an unbiased viewpoint. So what are you saying anyway? Rankin is a great coach so you label the Alcoa fans that are critical as "stupid". You are apparently therefore saying that the DB fans that have had enough are "stupid" as well because Clark is a great coach. How insulting. You are obviously too entangled in the "good ole boy" system with the coaches to have anything of value to contribute here. You need to take your blinders off son. The truth is that coaching lost that game Friday and that should be obvious to anybody. It's also obvious that history is repeating over and over again. Wake up! My opinion, and I know it is of little value on here, is if Clark does not give the offensive reins to someone with successful playoff experience, he should resign or be forced to. These kids and the school deserve better than what happened Friday. I think that most sane fans are tired of the ongoing playoff embarrassment.
  4. So, STARSNBARS,diad ye gradgeyate frum Sullyvin Sowf? Ifn ye diad, eye mayuf nowd ye. Comm bak thar gud bude. Weuns R Rebs two.
  5. Are you drunk? Apparently not as successful as the ole buddies, eh?
  6. Congrats to the Wildcats on a great game against the "mighty" Warriors.
  7. Frankly I didn't say that DB deserved a shot at Maryville. They blew it last week with the penalties - that you just can't have in playoffs. I just said that DB would have had a better shot at Maryville. Of course with the score 7-3 Bearden, I could be wrong.
  8. Frankly Dobyns-Bennett would have had a better shot at Maryville. Bearden's a one man show while Maryville's a team. Maryville contains #33 tonight. Maryville by 24.
  9. Ask yourself, what is the difference between D-B and Alcoa or Maryville. There is no way that there is a dime's worth of difference between the quality of these kids. Has to be something else. What else is different? I wager it's #2. Personally I think that D-B should recruit Rankin when Clark retires from the game. Rankin may not accept but it would be worth a try. Otherwise the status quo continues so just accept it.
  10. For the most part, every band competition charges admission. Probably around $5. As far as the state band championship is concerned, it's called the Contest of Champions and is held at MTSU every year at the end of October. During finals competition probably 75% of the home side is full. Yes thousands pay an admission fee of $12 (general admission) to watch the top 8-10 bands re-perform their competition piece. That's after possibly paying $10 for the all day event were all 30 bands compete in the preliminary competition. Now I love HS football. But I think the whole show makes football Friday nights great. That includes the band cranking it up. I would almost guarantee that attendance would drop by 30% at our stadium if there were no band show. One interesting point. During a competition, nobody talks or moves around in the stands - that's the rule. If you don't want any distractions for the football team, perhaps that is the best rule to implement. No noise at all. Now wouldn't that be cool? No matter what you do, somebody is going to complain and cause the powers that be to further restrict how things are. Sorry, not for me. I think its fine just the way it is. Leave well enough alone before you get something you don't want. Oh, and for the West Tennessee person ... bands are big in East Tennessee too. There are 380 kids in ours. I think that's larger than any college band in the state.
  11. Okay, he has officially resigned. Now what?
  12. The Dobyns-Bennett band was at the game to support their team in every way they could. No different than most any other HS band. They are the team's #1 fan and they intend to be the loudest. They have no impact on good teams - like Maryville. It's great to see a battle of the bands at games like Oak Ridge vs. Dobyns-Bennett. This is just a normal part of the fun of football Friday nights. You'll have to forgive BatmanDB. The team fumbled the ball at the goal line because they couldn't hold onto it. Somewhat of a problem for us this year. He seems to like to blame the team's problems on others rather than their coaches where it belongs. That is the way of the world today isn't it Batman? Resistance if futile. You have been assimilated. They didn't play at half time? That would probably be because it was a pep band. Only about 1 3rd of them were there. They couldn't do their halftime show w/o the whole band. They are normally 3 times louder.
  13. actually we are probably one of the few teams that does understand the terms machine and mythodical I think that we are a lot a like the biggest difference is maryville has done it at a different classification but they are very well coached and they know how to win. we have not given up more than 7 points during regualtion in a long time so i would be very surprised if this game is that high scoring but i will respect your knowledge of both schools and accept your predicition as I know that my WARRIORS are just lucky to be here Looks like this was the 1st 7+ pointer that has been scored against Riverdale in a long time. Congrats to Maryville. Indeed it was very similar to the OR vs Riverdale game of a few years ago. No doubt you understand now. The score doesn't reflect the difference in the two teams.
  14. I don't think you people from "The Boro" understand. This Maryville bunch works like a well oiled machine. They methodically dismember their opponent. They only way to understand what I'm talking about is to play 'em Friday night. This is going to be Oak Ridge all over again. The Warriors come to town, put up their teepee, light a little fire in it and by half time have to take it down. I witnessed that one myself at OR. And I'll tell you what. The people that run the stadium at Maryville are the nicest hosts you could ask for. You will be made to feel very welcome there. Some of the posters on here try to act like back hills folk but that is just a ruse - a bit of fun if you will. The utmost respect for the people of Maryville and their team. And no, I'm not from there. Our team got whipped by them. Prediction: Maryville 28, Riverdale 14
