They weren't the better team that night so get over it. I haven't seen Millington play this year but i got to see them last year when they beat Greeneville in 2 OTs and they were a good team. The 2 best teams might not make it to championship but every team has its day and Overton had their day. It happens all the time in sports but you don't hear everyone crying like you....i'm sure teams could make the same argument as you but they don't because its been this way for years.

This is how the TSSAA has set it up for years and they are not going to change it. They take the 2 best teams out of each region and match them against the 2 best teams from another region. Like stated before they do this because the 2nd best in one region may be better than best in another region. They give the region champ an advantage by letting them host the game and if the region champ can't beat the 2nd best from another region they don't deserve to go to state.

Were are you going to school little memphis cub? NO ONE meaning every school that DB plays. All DB is good for is a doormat in the first round playoffs. I do know one thing that DB and Memphis have in commen and that is they both CHOKE when it matters!

I know the Refs or Ref weren't the greatest in the game, i was there. I just hate how everyone things its always the refs fault and give no credit to Greeneville. If South's Oline wouldn't have had 3 foot splits on a FG then the game would have been over in regulation because the kick wouldn't have been blocked and if the WR from South wouldn't have dropped a wide open pass in the endzone same story. I also saw the last play in double OT on film and the South Oline got no push and the call could have went either way. It was the greatest football game i had seen in my life. I'm at The University of Tennessee now and the Story kid that played so good took over for me when i graduated. He has made leaps and bounds since his freshman year. I had offers to play football at Maryville College and some other smaller schools but decided to hang the pads up to concentrate on my school. I hope Taylor all the luck at Charleston and Sullivan South in their new conference. Please Kill DB noone likes them!

I was trying to take up for you Comp......Greeneville Doesn't get to choose which Refs do the game. The Refs were from Knoxville not from Greeneville, and i have no clue why Maryville would complain about anything.....there wasn't 5 penalties even thrown in that game and Maryville was moving the ball as they pleased. I have the up most Respect for Sullivan South and your son. They were the Best team I probably played against in High School and they also ended my High School football career, but you didn't here me saying" If Curt Phillips wasn't on the team we would have won". There is alot more to life than football, i know its still hard to swallow but it will ok.

Then since you think you know so much tell why Jeff Co. beat Greeneville then if it wasn't for Greeneville's D being so young and inexperienced? The Same Jeff Co. Offence put up 7 points against Greeneville the year before because The Devils D was a Veteran Defence. Thats not an excuse its the facts! If you watched Greeneville play the first game against Jeff Co. and then watched then play Sullivan South in the Quarter Finals you would be an IDIOT to think they were the same team.

The Greeneville team that Jeff beat the first game of the season was not even close to the team Sullivan South saw twice last year. The Greeneville team against Jeff had 9 people on D that hadn't even started a varsity game in their life and matured as the season went along. Jeff Co. wasn't even that good is was that Greeneville's D was that bad at the time. I'm not a Sullivan South Fan, but i respect Sullivan South and what their program has done over the past year 5 years.

I can promise you Fulton will not win the state in 3A because it is impossible!

Greeneville's AD told Both Morristown schools that they would still play them when they first found out they were moving down to AA but i guess they didn't want to play us anymore. I wouldn't either since neither team has beaten us in the past 2 years. Sullivan South has turned into a pretty heated rivalry in the past couple of years. We have given them 2 out of their 3 loses the past 2 years.

Sullivan South, Elizabethton, and Tennessee High are the other non-region games. It has had mixed emotions about moving to AA expecially by the former players that have always played up. The band sure doesn't like it because when we play away from Burley in our region they will not be able to facilitate everyone. I guess will just see how it goes

If i was guessing i would say Austin Perkins. He ran the JV team last year as a Freshman but i don't know to much about him.

They return 3 starters on offence and 8 on D. Look for more people to play both ways next year like Quarles at QB/S, Landon Morrison at WR/DB, BJ Spradlin at OLB/RB, and Chaz Story at RB/LB. They will be more like the 07 Greeneville team than last years team. The D should carry the team till the O gets things rolling.

As weird as it might sound i'm pretty sure he is helping with Greeneville Girls team this year. Ever game i've been 2 he is always sitting down next to the opening close to the Greeneville bench and is dressed up. He seems to be doing pretty good for everything he has been through

With new administration comes new rules. You may get a new boss at your work but it doesn't mean the same rules apply that your old boss had. She turned the middle school around and she is going to turn the high school around too. If she was there when the football incident happen i bet she would have done the same thing.

The 2 Girls did get kicked off the team and are not aloud to play basketball at Greeneville High School again. The reason the team got punished was because they sat there and watched it when it could have been prevented. I feel the team should have still been able to play but the new principal doesn't stand for anything like the old one. The 2 boys were in the locker room watching it not the rest of the boys team. The head of central office made the 2 boys sit out not the principal. Hope that answered your questions

How would the football team had a totally different outcome? Mrs Stoud wasn't there when the same situation happened in the football locker in the OFF SEASON. She runs a tight ship and if you don't like it then sorry for you. She didn't keep Short or Loyde from playing in the guys game that came from central office. True leaders don't let teammates fight, I've been there and had to stop conflicts many times before so i'm not saying i totally agree with the decision but i respect what she did.

Greeneville will still be in the Regions so their season isn't over, they will just have a harder road to travel

2 basketball players got into a fight yesterday ( The 2 players don't even get playing time). The Principal makes the girls girls forfiet the game end of story

Last i heard he was looking at maybe going to a military school like Hargrave to get his grades up. Thats probably why he hasn't signed anywherer yet is because of the grades.

Well since noone has any thoughts so far, I feel Greeneville will be the team to beat year in and year out. They have scheduled tough competition out of conference such as, Tennessee High, Sullivan South, Jeff Co., and Elizabethton which will help them when play-offs roll around. As a former player of Coach McCurry he will not let Greeneville over look any team that they play. I can't wait to see how Greeneville finally stacks up with schools their own size because they have stuck with schools almost twice the size of them for year.

What are people thoughts on the new conference that includes Greeneville, West Greene, South Greene, Chuckey-Doak, Grainger, Claiborne and Cumberland Gap?

Trent is still listed on the VMI roster for 2008 but i didn't see any stats from him so he probably red-shirted. Duannah is on the roster for University of Nebraska-Omaha but as the same as Trent doesn't have stats. I think your thinking of JJ Sims for MoWest, last i heard he went to Carson Newman but he isn't on the roster anymore

Congrats to All the Players listed above. I still Feel Ryan Fillers got the shaft putting up better numbers than 2 of the Wr that made the all-state team.

My point was that when the games is on the line he comes up big and deserves to be all-state. I know Kitzmiller is a great WR because i covered him some last year when he played Greeneville and covered his brother when i was a sophmore. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but to say he should be in the same breath as Kitz isn't true. To be ownest i value the coaches poll more than the AP just because the AP is all about politics like most things associated with the press.
