  1. Signal and Greeneville would meet before the title game. I think Greeneville will be back in the Championship game again. They return 9 on D who gave up 6 points a game and have the size and speed to play with anyone in the state.
  2. Pretty big talk for a team that finished one game over .500 last year. Greeneville returns 9 starters on D that avg. giving up 9 points a game and only 6.2 in the play-offs. They do lose 3 starters on Offense with Carmichael, Spradlin, and Cope. They return all but one lineman and every skilled position besides QB and RB. Stewart will take over at QB and Greeneville will throw the ball around more this year with Shuffler 4.41 electronic 40 in Knoxville combine, Walker Troy, and Big Pats son Xavier Goode caring the Rock.
  3. Simple answer is NO. You can't recruit period for public schools. Does it happen yea probably
  4. I agree it was pretty mutual throughout that whole Incident. I wouldn't say that the Gville DL gave any extra after the play more than the Fulton lineman from your video. The Greeneville DL was running towards the ball when the Fulton lineman slapped/punched at his face and then the Greeneville DL retaliated with a hit back and and then the Greenevilles DL got his helmet grabbed off while he pancaked the Fulton OL. Greeneville wasn't late hitting like you try to make it sound....I think the kid was tired of getting beat and got frustrated. Your right one gold ball doesn't make a dynasty but you have to start somewhere
  5. Greeneville didn't go and get anyone. If you referring to Carmichael he is originally from Cocke County. His mother is Indian and lived in Cherokee. NC were he moved for a year because of family problems. He moved to Greeneville to live with another family member (Family Problems again). The kid has been through a lot
  6. No one is hating....We just want to know who actually won it . Chattanooga paper says Tallent, while Knoxvilles paper and video and after game interview said Brown.
  7. He still is at Lenoir City. He is turning that program around. They won 4 games in the toughest Conference in the state and made the playoffs for the first time since 04. They ended up getting beat 41 to 23 by the 5a state champs Columbia.
  8. Running over a long snapper before he snaps the ball, hitting a kicker after he makes a PAT, Running your mouth at the refs, walking into the Greeneville huddle before a kick off are "actions" not "reactions". This all happened before Greeneville went for the 2 point conversion for the all time state scoring record and Greeneville Taunted Trezvant. If i was coach Ballard i would have went for two ever time after they late hit the kicker and hitting the long snapper to make sure they would not be hurt. Trezvant acted like a bunch of thugs. I knew before the game when they ran out on the field without there pads on and dancing around that the game was over. Greeneville did taunt Trezvant after they took a free shot on the holder by pointing at their ring finger and the score board. Should they have done that No but you can only take so much cheap shots before you say something
  9. Like i said the only good teams Alcoa played were Maryville and CAK. I've seen Loudon, Kingston, and Fulton play and this year they were average teams. I don't see the teams you stated before beating Sullivan South or Tennessee High and maybe Jeff Co. You keep saying might throughout your post well Greeneville might have went unbeaten if they played Maryville or Alcoa's schedule. Football is a crazy game thats you can't compare scores and schedules because people match up differently against different teams. By Coacht Alcoa's schedule strength was 9 and Greenevilles was 12th in AA. Its not absurd to say Greeneville could beat Maryville or Alcoa. You just don't like someone thinking that someone could possible beat Maryville or Alcoa.
  10. Everyone has their own oppinion on who would win this game this year. Comparing schedules are not going to show either team to be better its like trying to compare apples and oranges. Its like saying Well Greeneville beat Elizabethon by more so they would win or Alcoa saying well we beat Fulton by more so we would win....football doesn't work that way. Its a lot about how you match up with a team. The only teams Alcoa plays during season is Maryville and CAK. Greeneville like Alcoa didn't play their starters in the 2nd half of most games throughout the year. To say its not a close comparison is dumb. Both have explosive offenses and Stingy Defenses so who would know what would have happened. I would say it would be 10 to 7 point game going either way.
  11. When did Arkansas State become a major D1 school? lol This years Greeneville team would have beat last years Giles County team by 21 points. More speed and better coverage in the secondary than last year.
  12. There is more to a QB than throwing the ball....Its a running offense with reading involved. He also rushed for over 1,600 yards and 15 yards a carry.
  13. 38-75 10td 2 ints 650yds. 17 yards per throw
  14. Offensive Player of the year- Carmichael (ATH), Offense- Greeneville- Spradlin (RB), Cope (OL), Ogle (K). South Greene- Shuffler(QB), Wilhoit (WR), Tipton (OL). West Greene- Boles (RB), Carter (OL). Chuckey-Doak- Montgomery (RB), Ramsey (TE), Pardy (OL) Defensive Player of the year Hall (DL), Defense- Greeneville- Rollins (DL), Malone (DL), Story (LB), Perkins (LB), Shuffler (DB). South Greene- Wagers (DL), Haney (DB). West Greene- Monroe (DL), Ball (LB), Kelley (DB). Chuckey-Doak- Humphreys (LB). North Greene- Lucas (DB). Coach of the year Murphey (Chucky-Doak) Hope that helped you and that your doing good Kevo!
  15. What i'm saying is that what makes Goff look as good as he does is because Mason and Hughes get double teams all the time letting Goff run free to make plays. Which will work in highschool but at the next level when teams don't have to double team as much Goff doesn't get off blocks as well as other linebacker that i have seen(seen him play once in person and a couple of times on film). I'm not trying to knock Goff at all because he is a great player but i don't see him playing at UT is what i'm getting at.
  16. Thanks TG24, someone thats has also seen every team in District 4-AAA play (I helped with one of the teams in the district) and Greeneville play (Started 3 years and Graduated from GHS). I already wished you luck against Columbia RunninRebels but until you have a little more knowledge and first hand experience about both teams i wouldn't run your mouth about how 4 teams in your district would beat Greeneville
  17. Sadly alot of colleges go off your potential not how you actually play when you were in Highscool. There are a lot of highschool athletes that have the drive and heart to play Division 1 but don't have the body too. Its hard to teach 6"6' 300 lb. That why you see a lot of kids walk on and earn a spot instead of scholarship being given to them. A perfect example is Nick Reviez that starts MLB at UT.
  18. I agree that Mason is a good enough player to go to UT. He really impressed me when i saw him play in the play-offs. For the other Columbia players they are good enough to go to a D1AA or D2 school not the SEC. What helps Goff out is having Mason and Hughes at DT keeping O lineman off of him so he can make plays, its a little differen't when a O lineman gets a hand on him he doesn't make as many plays. There is a big step from Highschool and playing at UT
  19. When you question a team playing a weak schedule (We know our conference stinks can't help that) when your own team has played 4 common opponents and Greeneville has handled them better than West did is not smart. I watched the West and Fulton game and you still had starters in during the 4th quarter so it sounds like you didn't finish instead of taking the gas off. Greeneville played Sullivan South the week after you, anymore excuses?
  20. The only district that is tough in Knoxville is district 4AAA and Knoxville doesn't even have the best team in it. To say that Greeneville wouldn't survive in a decent Knoxville district makes you look Asinine. Since Greeneville doesn't play anyone lets look at common opponents: West 19 Sullivan South 14, Greenville 35, Sullivan South 20 (Was 35 to 7 in the 4th when Greeneville pulled their starters), West 36 Fulton 20, Greeneville 35 Fulton 0, West 31 Tn High 7, Greeneville 56 Tn High 7. Does that mean West hasn't played anyone since Greeneville has more convincing wins over common opponents?
  21. Like i stated before the only team that i think would beat Greeneville from that conference is Maryville. West would be the next best team that you listed. Catholic was overrated all year and Greeneville has to much speed for them, Bearden was the one man show with Young and I'll take Greeneville's team vs a player eveyday. Farragut might have gave Greeneville a game before their QB got hurt but definitly not afterwards. Greeneville can't help what coference they play in so they try to schedule tough out of conference games. Greeneville is like Boise State ( They play in a sucky conference but it doesn't mean they aren't good ). Good Luck against Columbia! They can't cover the pass to well!
  22. Who would those losses come from in West's division? The only one I could think of would be Maryville......Before you say i have no clue what i'm talking about i've seen every team in your district play several times and have also seen Greeneville play several times. I do think West and Greeneville would be a good game both have size and speed and play to what they know do best
  23. Your right Kev-O Coach McCurry had a huge part of turning the Program in the right direction. When he was hired he treated us as a college type team (New weight room equipment, charter buses, college type practices, new pads, helmets, jersey's). He got the school to put in a football weight lifting class so players would have to workout and stay strong through the season, not to mention the summer conditioning schedule we had to go through (Devil Camp). He believed in us and taught us to believe in ourselfs again. It didn't hurt that he came in when we had 8 starters on each side of the ball back either lol but he was the guy that turned the program around along with his staff that included almost everyone still on the staff (Ballard, Bentley, Hammonds, Brimer, Spradlin)
  24. Stop crying about Greeneville being an open school zone. Greeneville has been open zoned for over 20 years now and since Greeneville starts making it to the semi's and finals the past couple of years you bring it up now? Most of the Tuition students are for the band and since the county schools have a band program less Tuition students have came to Greeneville each year. I played for Greeneville in 07 and i was suppose to go to Chuckey Doak along with a bunch of other players on the team that were suppose to go to County Schools. We had all went to city schools since we were in elementary or middle school, so it wasn't for sports at that age. Both my parents attended differen't county schools in Greeneville and decided that i would attend Greeneville city schools when i was 5 because the education was better and would give me a better chance of attending college. Not everyone goes to Greeneville High to play sports, Education still is number one!
