Regardless of how good Heritage is or thinks they are, Maryville will win this one by a fairly large margin. I would take the Rebels and 21 points any day. I know this is an in county rivalry game, but you see what they did to Alcoa.

I believe that Elizabethton thought the same thing. I guess we will see this Friday night.

I could not find a link on the bristol news website. Actually I don't know if it was officially put into print. A friend just told me that it had been said by some people at the newspaper. If I find some concrete evidence, I will post it.

If you haven't noticed, whenever Major is out, Ryan is in. He is the back up fullback. Not Mo. He is a very talented fullback, and again, if you haven't noticed, he has been getting more time, and more carries lately.

I am really sorry to hear of your death moyers, but let's get back to the subject at hand. I am really glad that everyone in rebel land gives us no chance to win this Friday. And I would have expected that, being that you all have won several state championships lately. But what really pi$$e$ me off is hearing that our own people at the Bristol Herald Courier have made the comment that we are outmanned at all 22 positions. What kind of support is that from your hometown paper?

Our school has installed the BFS program for the entire athletic department this year. All athletes are now doing the same strength and conditioning program. I don't know how it will go for an entire program, but it has shown great results for the football team who have been using the program for several years now.

Obviously, I don't know anything about either one of these teams being that I live in the other corner of the state. I have heard that Melrose has some great athletes, which wouldn't surprise me. I do have to say that I really admire the way Ridgeway has fought back from a 5-4 regular season to make it to the quarter-finals. I would probably pick Melrose over Ridgeway just because Melrose is undefeated and obviously talented to have been that way this far. I tend to lean toward going with the underdog though. As far as close games go, I do know how Melrose feels. We have had two close games in the first two rounds. Friday night we beat Sullivan South 31-17 after beating them 52-7 in the regular season. It seems hard to get up for teams that you have already beaten handily. Good luck to both. I can't make a call in this one.

VikeFanatic, How much of the game did you actually watch last friday night? The reason I ask is that if you were really watching the game, you wouldn't blame it entirely on the coaching staff. That was probably the worst I have ever seen the Vikes play. The offense didn't execute, the defense could not make a tackle, and had it not been for the play of the special teams, we probably wouldn't have won at all. I really don't think that making plays, executing, and fundamentals can be blamed on the coaches. I have seen the Vikings practice, and I have seen them work on fundamentals on a weekly basis since August. It is easy to blame people for mistakes made, but you need to watch a little closer to make sure you are blaming the right people. The THS players had already beaten South 52-7, and as hard as they tried, I am sure that it was nearly impossible to convince the players to play hard. After all it is difficult to beat a good team twice in one season, and South is a good team. I have to give them the respect they deserve.

shelley, great question. I would like to know myself. btaklin, I am glad you are talking, I just hope your team bplaying tonight. Moyers, it is raining right now. It doesn't look like it is going to stop, but it is supposed to. But like you said, the damage is done. The castle is not the greatest for draining water. It may have some standing, at least on the sidelines. But all will be fine.

Betsy's biggest mistake...never take points off the board. That is the golden rule in football. It turned out to bite them. Could have been 22-20 instead of 20-19.

And by the way Bossman, I have forgotten more football than you will ever know.

Bossman, First of all, I never insinuated that we were the TN Vols. We have a good team, but a D-1 top 25 team we are not. Secondly, You all may beat us in the future, but don't think that it will happen just because you won some measely freshman game. Unfortunately for you, at the varsity level all three grades get to play. Your freshman class may be better than ours, but how about your sophomores? juniors? That is what I thought. Moyers, It ought to be a good match up. This is the best defensive front that TN High has had in years. If your O Line is as good as you say they are, and our D Line is as good as I think they are, they will clash heads the day after thanksgiving. But we both have two more games to win before that happens. Not that I am worried, and I am sure that the Rebel faithful aren't either, you just can't look too far ahead or you might trip over your own feet.
