  2. Give me a break!!!!!! (1) Your line absolutely stinks. (2) #5 is decent but he has absoluely no one to throw to and no line to block. (3) #3 comes in to play QB because #5 is the only one that can catch at least a cold at WR. (4) Sequatchie has the motivation since they have been EMBARRASSED the last two years by getting beat by the Tiggers.
  3. Did you give a hand shake last year after getting beat for the second straight year?
  4. Warriors Hand Grundy A 19-14 Loss http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?brd=1614&Nav_Sec=67239 By: David Lowrie, Herald Sports October 06, 2004 Marion and Grundy always draws a crowd and always invokes emotions for Yellow Jacket and Warrior fans. Coaching moves over the last few years has only added to that fire. And while coaches have come and gone from both schools the Warriors continue to win most of the match-ups. After Friday's 19-14 win in Coalmont, Marion now holds a 23-7 record over Grundy since 1975. Coach Ken Colquette is now just 1-3 against his former team. The loss dropped Grundy's overall record to 3-4. Marion improved to 4-2. "We kept it close. We made it interesting. We had our chances to win. Usually the team that makes the most mistakes loses. We made the most mistakes. The biggest thing that's concerned me since day one about this team is that we're not very physical. Anybody that runs all over us, shows how strong they are and how mean they are usually gives us a hard time. Again we had our chances. (Dustin) Fults carried us as long as he could and then they took him away. We ran a wrong pattern. We threw a ball in the dirt. We missed tackle after tackle after tackle. We played everybody on the team trying to find some combination that would work except for some of the freshmen and maybe we need to play them. When (Nick) Jensen got hurt with an ankle in the second quarter and he couldn't come back that hurt because right now he's our bell cow. It made us one-dimensional. We were able to pitch some tonight. Defensively their offensive line and ends just dominated our line and ends. Offensively their defensive dominated our line for a good portion of the game," said Coach Ken Colquette. Marion scored on their first possession with a 25 yard run from Van Kinsey to take a 6-0 lead at 7:03 of the first. Grundy answered on their first drive with a nine-yard Dustin Fults run. His kick was wide and the game was tied. Less than two minutes later. Marion retook the lead on their next possession with a Matt Bragg six-yard run and added the PAT to take a 13-6 lead at 8:53 of the second quarter. They would hold that lead until late in the half when Grundy recovered a Marion fumble at the 19. Two plays later Fults would race in from the 14. Dusty Coffelt would add the two-point run and the Jackets led 14-13 at the break. Grundy saw several players banged up including Jensen, Dustin Smith, Evan Merrill and Jeremy Melton. The only score in the second half would come from the Warriors. Travis Jones hit Scott Wilson on a six-yard pass with just 5:37 left in the contest. The run failed but led 19-14. Grundy would threaten once more but a turnover at the Marion 36 ended Grundy's hopes. "We keep making the same mistakes over and over. And we really don't have enough depth to overcome it. It's real frustrating. We're coaching our butts off as hard as we can coach and working those kids as hard as we feel like we can and in some spots we just don't get any better. I'm at a loss at what to do and none of the other coaches know what to do either. We made too many mistakes mainly on defense. Our tackling is awful. And they probably wanted it worse than we did. They put up 40 something against Whitwell and 30 something against Sequatchie, so they're not a bad football team at all. They didn't make many mistakes. We had a touchdown called back because we had a wide out line up wrong. That shouldn't happen in the seventh game," added Colquette. Fults led Grundy on offense with 88 yards on 14 carries and two TDs. Dusty Coffelt followed with 19 on four totes with a two-point run. Melton led the defense with a season high 28 tackles. Coffelt followed with 15 stops. Jay Lankford had his biggest game of the year with 13 tackles. Andrew Meeks had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery. Dustin Fults had 10 tackles. The Yellow Jackets host Coffee County Friday at Crisp Field. The Red Raiders are 3-3 on the season and their three losses are by only a combined four points. Coffee won last year's match up 35-28 in Manchester. Kickoff is 7:00 PM.
  5. After watching today's practice make that 28 points. #42 is ready for a big night Friday. Here kitty, kitty, kitty.
  6. A dog backed into the corner will come out and bite you. South Pittsburg has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Will be a wild one in Pittsburg Friday night.
  7. JP is back and revenge is on their side. Whitwell's line is the worst it has been in years. #5 is showing a lot of wear from being hit so many times over the last 6 games. #42 is slow. The inside linebackers couldn't tackle my momma. Enuff said Sequatchie County by 14 points at least.
  8. Only one person from South Pittsburg is talking on the board.
  9. I like the discussion Del. Good luck to Grundy against Coffee County.
  10. You may not do it but if you break the law should we punish you AFTER you have served your time? That is what you are saying Marion County should do to #15.
  11. Well friend when you become a coach one of these days maybe someone will get on this board and criticize your hard work. What goes around comes around friend. This is his frist year in your lovely little-hole-in-the-wall and maybe he needs to get rid of some of the dead wood.
  12. All you people whinning about the coach being so hard to play for. Coach being to hard on my son. Coach not being fair. Coach not teaching them how to play the game. DO ME AND YOUR COACH A FAVOR, JUST ONE. Go to college and get your degree in secondary education and pick up a whistle. Or shut the blank up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I said from the start that I knew football was more important than behavior down there and that he would play. It was proven last night. Like I said before, #15 served his time in the doghouse both at school and on the team. Why not let the kid play Del? If you get busted for driving after drinking your favorite beer at one of your favorite watering holes in Coalmont should we punish you AFTER you served your time?
  14. records and how each team has been playing DOES NOT MATTER in this one. Pure, 100%, HATE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Neither team likes each other (this week anyway). None of the coaches like each other (this week anyway). The communities are orange/black and purple/white down to their toes. By the way, THEY HATE EACH OTHER AS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, don't talk about oh how bad this one is and how well this one is. If South Pittsburg only wins 2 games this year (Lookout Valley and Marion County) it has been a GREAT YEAR in town. THIS ONE IS FOR PRIDE OF MARION COUNTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. He served his punishment at school and on the football field. Would corkscrews and the rack be a just punishment in the eyes of Del The Great? Had your hopes up for a win tonight Del. Sorry to disappoint all the Grundy faithful.
