  1. nice pic of teh famous Four Horsemen from South Bend...I have a tee shirt with that same pic o it...bought at ND the last tiem the Vols went there...
  2. I think YOUR situation is not in the classifiation of a fair weather fan...in your csse, "scoring" will most assuredly be an inside tyupe of propsition...or maybe you and Rene prefer the outdoor setting for frolicking...LOL... I will looking for a smile on Rene's face when I see her...then I will know how your "scoreboard" tallied up the TOUCH-downs...Good luck and Happy Anniversary...
  3. yes, CougZone...I am quite qware that you are still here and still posting...you are one of the few Cougar faithful that even bothers to support teh team herer on coacht...wish we had more fns like US...LOL... I have been with the Cougs since day one of teh program (just like you)...I am sure many people think that I have bitter feelings about teh Cougar football program (for reasons obvious to some and not so obvious to others)...but I am a Cougar supporter (not to be confused with an athletic supporter) ...I will stand with them win or lose...GO COUGS!!!
  4. It appears tath the Cougar FAithful have gone completely AWOL on this team...what a shame that only a few of the many posters from last season even bother to read or post...shame on you FAIR WEATHER FANS!!!! a winner never quits and a quitter never wins!!!
  5. you are completely wrong about Campbell County...true, many good players left teh program to go elsewhere, but several did not...those good players who stayed did not have teh suporting cast that they needed to have a winning team at CC...any kid who stayed at CC instead of runnign away from their former friends and teammates shoudl be considered a winner fo rnot giving up...
  6. I have been there (The Ship) for two playoff games...both games were quite a treat...of course, Ihae beento several games at The Ship (as a fan)...the crowd, teh walk down the steps, the rairoad croassing lights and sounds make for a good opening to a great night of high school football...I too urge anyone whose teamis not playing in a playoff game to go toOR to view a game, playoff or otherwise..
  7. I have coached both middle school football and high school footballl...and believe me, there is a world of difference in teh two...
  8. maaybe he ahs gone to the local "watering hole" with the Copugar "faithful" who have done their Houdini impersonations...LOL... actually I dont think he partakes of taht kind of "water"...
  9. bumpity bump bump...doesnt anyone from CC care except teh two ro three that have posted....fair weather fans ....
  10. A homecoming victory would definitely be nice, but.... Bearden much like jeff Co shut down teh screen pass to Johnson...bothteams won big vs CC... does CC depend on Johnson too much onoffense...probably, but if you have onlyone horse in the race you have to ride it to teh finish... this one could be very very very ugly...so ugly I may go elsewhere (where is that blonde???) go ahead and make teh trip from JC to Jacksboro...your son will probablygt to play unless teh Cougs fool me (and others) and make a game of it... this weeks upset special..... will no take place in CC!!!
  11. you are correct---trust me on that one!!!
  12. I dont thnk I actually know TANK, but I do believe taht I have been in a similar situation...I used to do teh Campbell Copunty radio, delayed TV play by play, AND write about Cougar football (and othe r sports) in a local newspaper... I know that CC is not OR, but as reporters we sometimes have to look at things objectively ...anything is possible in MOST high school athletic events...that is why they play the games... a team taht might have an outside shot at beating OR (or any other team) could have an exceptional night while OR has an off night...or maybe OR is playing a pretty good football team...breaks, injuries, decison making could cost either team the game... again, I am not totally aware of what was said or when it was said, but I hope this sheds some light on teh situation...being a hometown reporter can have both good and bad points...many times whatever you say is wrong in someone's eyes/thoughts...
  13. thanks for the kinds words...i would like to think of myself as a players coach...my son works part time at a gym and part time at the radio station...winner goes to blankenship...nice consolation prize...LOL...
  14. where is your dads restaurant??? teh Volunteer Times went belly up...it was fun while it lasted but those times are over... BUT, keep your eyes and ears open about a possible new publication hitting teh streets in CC soon...
  15. thanks david for teh kind words...you exemplify all teh fine peope in OR that have always been so kind ot me... coach Gaddis saying that is a true compliment, coming from a true football man...his kind words and teh fact tath he came and talked to teh CC team after taht firt trip to Blankenship will always be a highlight of my coaching career...he spoke to our team even before he spoke to hisown team after that first meeting ...I hope to see you during basketball season along with those other wonderfully nice OR folks... thanks again fo rth kind words...
  16. the thrill of palying in teh atmosphere at OR Blankenship field is a treat in itself...even though we got "drilled" both times I took CC teams there, it was fun...especially since we played decnt first halves against the CATS...heck, we even scored first in both gomes...it was a treat to hear teh silence on the OR side of teh field...not so thrilling though when the floodgates finally opened up though... teh OR faithful (especially teh OR media) were so kind to me and my staff ...tehy heaped praises upon us for teh effort and different attitude we brought to the CC program...granted we didnt win very often, but at least we changed teh image of CC sportsmanship while we were there...then we were fired...LOL... at least teh blonde hasnt fired me yet...
  17. you are correct all counts... yes I was teh head coach at CC for 3 years...head coachat Jacksboro JR Hihg, an assistant at Jacksboro Middle,...and my son was an assistant at CC and at Jacksboro Middle... youhae my curiosity running now...do I know youpersonally??? I was able to forge some really good friendships at OR ( at ORHS, Jeffrson, and Robertsville) during my coaching tenure...
  18. if so they werent doing very well...all wre empty handed...LOL...
  19. we (CC) didnt stick to teh w-bone very long...doggies should be favored to win this one...not much hype here in CC...but i did see two of teh Cougs at teh local Walmart around 9:30 or so last night...kinda wondering what they were doing out at taht time of night...then I saw a few others as i was leaving Wall World in teh back of a pick up truck...may have been some in teh cab too...must hae been practicing the late night offense...LOL
  20. if the ball hits teh ground prior to the kick there is no such thing as roughing teh kicker...whether it be a low snap or if teh punter drops teh ball makes no difference...no penalty!!!
  21. that is how te onside kick is supposed to work...teams that are successful withthte onside kick practice it every day...
  22. the legions of CC fans are wearing out teh message board on coacht.com oh wait...tht was last season... so where are teh Cougar fans??? who knows...
  23. I'm betting on CATHOLIC!!! oops, sorry they already played...
  24. the shoe seems to be on the other foot this year playoff wise...plus teh dawgs remember taht CC has handed them twostraight defeats after taking th e first 20 games between the two schools...Bearden is vying for a playoff spot...the Cougs ar apparently in a spoilers position this year... unless teh Cougs regroup fast and furiously teh DAwgs will surely post a homecoming win and teh cougars will once again become :everyone's homecoming opponent...
