  1. They haven't played each other this year, so they don't have much to go on. Scores as we have seen throughout the season don't mean much. I think the conditions are going to effect the game alot and make it more of a toss up. It has rained alot in Chattanooga and there are three games before the Baylor vs. BA game so the field will be torn up pretty badly. Both teams will have the same disadvantage and it will be interesting to see who can adapt. I predict Baylor will win, but it will be a struggle.
  2. What everyone has to remember is that both Father Ryan and Baylor have to get to the finals before any of this matters, and it won't be an easy ride. Also, Baylor doesn't walk on to any field against any team thinking they will roll over them. Many teams consider Baylor one of the best and therefore always bring thier top game. A tie against Baylor is concidered a win to some teams. There is absolutely no room to get cocky, and the players know that.
  3. You can go to TSSAA.com to see the brackets and rankings for all division, and teams weren't picked to go to state... they earned their spots.
  4. Baylor has already beaten Father Ryan who beat JPII. The DII title will depend heavily on the teams that play to the top level. It could go many diff. ways.
  5. I doesn't matter how many games they have done it... it is wrong, especially when you are the visiting team. Plus if Ooltewah went to Shelbyville and hung up sides would the fans "tear them apart" it seams like the answer to that question is yes. Regardless, a great team wins with class. I don't have much of a stand either way on the signs, but the stretching was just rude.
  6. How are McMinn and Beech underated? I've seen them play, and it would be tough for either of them to compete with the top ranked teams.
  7. wow what happened to notre dame? three goals after being up by one...
  8. Ok so what do you guys think about the finals. Baylor and Notre Dame will play for the region championship and both will go to state. What did you guys think about the Notre Dame GPS game; who will win the finals?
  9. Baylor beat Webb 5-0 so they will advance to the region final. Does anyone know what happened between GPS and Notre Dame. Both teams are reallys strong this year.
  10. I'm not sure that this is the answer, but I think that the state venue is given to the team that won the previous year. (Which is supposed to give them an adavantage based on travel time and familiarity with the field.) I'm also pretty sure that the DII tourney has to be played at GPS because the Baylor field doesn't hold enough people. I could be wrong... I don't really remember who won in A/AA.
  11. Brooke Pancake took first individually in the state competition, and she is only a freshman.
  12. I have alot of friends on the team knox87, and for stockwell4, Seth might be leaving and Chris is too, but Harris English is only a sophomore, and there are alot of underclassman moving up as well. What are your thoughts on the girls? They won by 36 strokes... I may not play, but that is ridiculous.
  13. Good luck to anyone trying to beat Baylor. Hopefully some competition will come around.
  14. hey cm15 and where have u been? haven't seen you on the posts for a while.
  15. Well, they did it again. Both guys and girls teams won state. The girls hold a TSSAA for most consecutive wins (10), and the guys have gotten their 11th title. What are your thoughts on that? Its almost as if it will be bad luck for the Baylor team in the future that doesn't win. All I can say is that Baylor dominates this sport.
  16. umm u lost to Baylor 6-0. what can u do against other strong teams (GPS, ND, CCS)? You guys might find success in your division, but that is kinda it. And for the record... Coach Earls is awesome!
  17. I agree, Baylor came out exetremely slow in the first half. In the second half they decided to play. They scored two goals, and ccs fell apart. As for people saying CCS "could" have beaten baylor, Baylor "could" have played better. What we have is the final score... 3-1 Baylor win on CCS's senior night.
  18. Beth Felts graduated last year and had schools literally fighting over her for both golf and soccer. Megan Feher was offered scholarships for soccer and track. Those athletes are just a few female athletes that have gone throught Baylor and been offered scholarships for more than one sport. I'm sure there are a ton of others from others schools as well.
  19. I was thinking the exact same thing when I read the article in the paper. Is she really that good. She will play Baylor on Thurs, and we might find out then, but coming back from injury is hard. How could she be 100 percent? I think she was a prospect that had some bad luck. I don't see why the paper wrote on it though until she made her comeback. The article just said she was sick, and now she is back on the field. Alot of players get sick or hurt...
  20. Heck ya they will. The team this year is as strong as ever. They have yet to be defeated in regular season.
  21. See, that I don't understand. Baylor beat them 3-1. Father Ryan is ranked over Centennial who beat Baylor. How does that make sence?
  22. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. Baylor came out playing hard, but not smart. A few players (new to the spotlight) were a bit nervous. Baylor held GPS through the first half and deep into the second when Caitlin Cook scored off a left foot shot from about 25 yards out. Baylor kept working and during the last two minutes Jen Clemmer beat two down the line and got a cross to the foot of Lauren Good who finished to tie the game. Overall GPS did a good job shutting down Paiger using three players to deffend her. Both teams had some close opportunities including two shots shanked by Carly Marrow and an upper 90 shot by Lauren Geismer that was saved by the goalie. Geis played well. She shut down Cook more than once, and took some close shots. Caitlin Cook did well, she is a good player, her left foot is very dangerous, and she finds great passes. Overall Baylor showed that they refused to lose. The defense (as I'm sure u'd like to know cm15) did well. Monica headed away several shots, Annie stripped Cook and Marrow a few times, both Hunter and Lacy saved Baylor from some dangerous moments. There were a few breakdowns in which Cook found the split to marrow... luckily carly couldnt finish. The result was what neither team wanted, but Baylor was able to score even though GPS had added an extra deffensive player. The teams will probably meet again... it will be very interesting.
  23. I don't know what game you where watching if you think you can say the baylor mid field stinks. Lanter was taken out of the game by GPS (a good strategic move on their part) but center mid Lauren Geismar brought her game and shut down Caitlin Cook more than once. In fact Geis sent a shot upper ninety early in the game that the keeper (talented i will admit) barely saved. Other shots were taken by Geis later in the game. Also, if you remember the tieing goal was largely in part by Sophmore Jen Clemmer who beat two GPS deffenders down the line in order to land a left footed cross at the foot of Lauren Good who finished. All this was dispite the fact that they were down a goal. Baylor might have had a bad game, and a few players (new to the spotlight) might have been nervous, but they proved that they will not lose without a fight. Counting Baylor out of a state title is a huge mistake. They might be young, but every player out on that field last night knows what it takes to win. Who knows what will happen later, but don't count them out yet.
  24. I agree. I really don't think anyone will be beating Baylor. The girls are going for their tenth consecutive title in a row (a TSSAA record) and the boys are in the tourney for their eleventh. Competition will need some serious luck to beat Baylor.
  25. yeah, well from what i heard today you are right... its sounds like they will be playing tomarrow, which doesn't bother the baylor players at all. They will go out hard no matter who is on the other team. Can't wait to see what happens!
