  1. Way to go Henry Co. I am so proud of you. Thanks for your support, VG. I hope you and your dad had a good time, Yanker.
  2. Congratulations, Maplewood. I guess Hillsboro can stop running its mouth about what they will do to Henry Co. this year.
  3. I'm not shooting any messenger, here. I hope we win. I know how good Melrose is. I think they have the motivational factor that we scored 35 points on them at the Mound last year. Nobody does that. I think their defense has improved over last year; it is basically the same guys. I think our offense has improved more than their defense has, though. However, everybody says defense wins games. I just hope for the victory. We will treat our visitors with respect as we were treated at the Mound. GO BIG RED!
  4. Thanks, Golfendude. We have our hands full tonight. In Melrose's last seven games, they have outscored their opponents 226 - 12. I'm really nervous.
  5. Hey, Drew, Did you read in the paper where the Melrose fan called in to a talk show complaining about our pre-game, how we were showing off, over the top, etc.? He then said Melrose did all of their showing off on the field. As far as I know, none of our players have been involved in either planning or executing the pre-game. Speaking of executing, that's what we have to do tonight. No matter the outcome, I am proud to be part of the BIG RED NATION! Dig deep, Patriot players. Yanker, I surely have missed talking to you. You and your dad, as well as all of our visitors, travel safely.
  6. I think it is unrealistic to think we can top someone of his celebrity stature. I was just as happy with the Veterans Day salute, but is sure was impressive to have Hank Jr. on our field. I would like to thank him even though it is doubtful he will ever read this.
  7. Why do you put the band before your team's win? And why don't they just perform at halftime like all other bands instead of stopping the home team's celebration? I went to see a football game.
  8. It's pretty sad when the crowd yells more for the opposing team's band than they do for their team who won. Also, even though I would have liked to have watched the band, I left. They told us to get off our field so that they could perform. I am proud of you, Patriots. Now we have to get ready for an unbelievable Melrose team.
  9. I'm not sure he is doing any song. I really don't believe the halftime thing will happen. It doesn't matter to me. Proud and honored to have him there.
  10. I agree with you completely. No explanation needed. The motivation from within should be all they need to get pumped up.
  11. It will be football talk, without the nonsense interventions. And, you know, your identity will remain unknown to me.
  12. I, too, am disappointed that the Yanker is not delivering the game ball. Everything else now pales in comparison. It could fall through. He is willing, but I hear Nashville is getting involved. I hope it works out. I don't know if I can handle another disappointment. We need more than an occassional post, though. In fact, I will pay the twelve bucks if you do. I need to discuss some things with you. Look forward to your anonymous presence.
  13. Thank you. We certainly appreciate it and hope for the best. I think I am right in that you play Goodpasture. Good Luck to you, too.
  14. Hey, Yanker! It's good to hear from you. No one else on the board is familiar to me (except the prophet and a couple of others). It seems to be all new folks this year. I'm glad to have them aboard, but I seem to be out of the loop. You and your dad travel safely, dress warmly, and I certainly hope your prediction is right.
  15. What exactly does "intelliglible" mean?
  16. This sounds familiar to your line on the football forum. You need to work on another line. Or are your writers on strike?
  17. not true; they only came year before last because they were on the way to a competition. Remember, they performed after the game. They asked our coach if they could use our field to practice. Believe what you want, but I doubt Kriesky worries about whose band is coming. I hope they do show, though!
  18. Thanks for the vote of confidence, utfan2. And I agree about the band. I agree, HC coaches with a 10 - 1 record. Why don't you use something that works? Duh....
  19. I may not be as football knowledgeable as some on here, and I tend to lean more toward the fear of losing than the assurance of winning. However, if anyone cares, I have seen Fairley on three different tapes (no, I am not a coach, just an ardent fan). From what I see, we have our hands more than full this Friday night, and I would not make any guarantees to anyone. Can we win? Yes. Can we lose? Yes. They have lots of weapons. That little guy looks like a bolt of lightning. They can throw the ball (and catch it). They can stop an offense. I remember last year when their coach told us that his team thought of us as a thorn in their side and didn't plan to let this happen again. They are motivated. I, for one, am worried....a lot.
  20. I think we should do this one game at a time. It makes me nervous to talk about Melrose. I have seen Fairley. This game can go either way.
  21. I certainly hope no one tells our head coach of your suggestion. I think he owns three or four English bulldogs and hear that they have their own bedrooms.
  22. Thanks for the info. and the "good luck." On another note, I really enjoyed the pregame tribute to Veterans. When the helicopter landed in the middle of the field on the Patriot head and the soldier came out with the game ball, I got cold chills. Today is Veterans Day. A special thank you to all who have served our country.
  23. Well, I guess Kenwood won't be proving anything to Henry Co. this year!!!!
  24. This is it! Win or go home! The nerves have set in! I hope everyone on our team plays to his full potential. I know their record doesn't look so good, but it has happened before. We were just six and four last year and made it to the semis. Safe travel to all, and no injuries.
