  1. TSU is playing Samford live on channel 302. Right now they are at halftime. Calvin has rushed for two td's and thrown for another. TSU is ahead 28-21 (the fourth td was on an interception return). Even though the announcers keep calling him McNarl, they have mentioned HC several times. It's fun to watch. He is doing well.
  2. The prayers will continue, and he will be back in full force. I am sorry to hear about this. I know you are concerned. He is a great player, and HE WILL BE BACK! Yanker, I hope we get to see you next week. Good to hear from you.
  3. It's that attitude that cost us Westview. Stay focused, team.
  4. Don't listen to the horror stories. The people treated us great. Just don't eat on the way there. You want to save plenty of room for their food.
  5. Definitely prayers from our house. Keep us informed.
  6. Good post and good attitude. I guess it is the old coach in you. We do want all of region 7 to win.
  7. We have seen the film. It was blatant, especially slamming the player into the fence on our sidelines, but....whatever you say. Of course, we could not hear what was said and cannot dispute that. Trust me, they have been taught. Obviously, you can see how our coach reacted when one of our players was penalized for what he had been taught. Also, at our Saturday get-together (players, parents, Big Red Faithful meet on Saturdays to watch film, feed the players a steak lunch, and let them lift weights), Gaddis said the referee told him that there was too much mouthing on the field and our players were answering BACK. It's over. We can go back and forth all day. I said I didn't blame you for getting by with what the referees let you do. Oh, and the language on the Myspace conversations that were given to our players by someone...that was rough, too.
  8. I would really like to drop this subject; the game is over. We won, and it is time to move on. However, I have a couple of things I can't stop myself from responding to. First of all, our team was penalized because of players running their mouths (which is wrong no matter what they see on t.v.). One of them led to your first td. In fact, he was told by the officials if he did anything else, he would be removed from the game, thus making him ineligible to play next week. Your player did much worse that run his mouth; his actions could have caused unnecessary injuries, yet he was never called. Is that his fault? No. I don't understand why he was given preferential treatment for such blatant infractions. I don't believe it is acceptable just because the big guys do it. It also seems as if you imply (by questioning our coach) that it is okay if some kind of championship is on the line. That's not how we view it here. The bigger man will play the game the way it is supposed to be played, or he will be punished. The players know what is acceptable. I, too, wish your team the best of luck. We would love to play you at home where, hopefully, all players and infractions will be treated equally.
  9. Obviously, you have not seen the game film. There are no fewer, and probably more, than 7 times when Shutt hits out of bounds or late. I am not talking accidentally. For instance, in one incident, the Patriot runner had already been hit out of bounds by another of your players, and then Shutt ran in and shoved him into the fence. Who can blame him if he can get by with it right in front of the referees, which he did. Other Hardin players were called for it , but not him. Hmmm, I wonder if he has connections. His playing and attitude were totally unimpressive. Unless your film is edited, ask to see it. I think you will be embarrassed by his actions (just as I was by the two mouthing off on our team). Our coach did take them out.
  10. I heard that RE threw for almost 300 yards against Kingsbury last night. Does anybody know the stats? And didn't Kingsbury beat Melrose? Let's make sure we don't let a record fool us into overlooking a team's skills. RED PRIDE! Way to go, guys.
  11. fastcat, I've not been on the Kenwood thread. This week's Kenwood game means nothing to me. Why are you so worried about us anyway? I am only concerned about Hardin County tonight. No, I'm not cocky (you must know all of us so personally to have judged us.), or I would not be worried. Any team can win on any given night. GO BIG RED!!!!
  12. Are there any Henry Co. fans out there who are as nervous about this game as I am? I already have that uptight feeling in my stomach I get before every game. I don't know how I will keep my mind on work today. This is the big one, guys. I hope everybody plans to come out and support the team. The Hardin Co. stadium will be packed. "Oh what a night!"
  13. As big a Henry Co. fan as I am, I would not even attempt a prediction. Hardin Co. is an excellent team; I would say the best we have played thus far. I am even more nervous than ever about this one. They will have a huge, loud crowd, a band that plays nonstop, and a home-field advantage. I hope the Big Red Faithful decide to come out in full force and yell non-stop. Yanker, I am glad to see you back.
  14. I guess that was my point, so it is hard to tell who would have the best defense in a big, close game until the game is actually played. Am I correct in this assumption?
  15. I don't claim to know how all of this is figured out, but I would assume some of these teams have played their second and third defenses at times. I know that Henry County has scored 331 points, and their opponents have scored 116. I know of several games where the coach put in second and third defenses (some very early in the second half because mercy rule was in effect) to keep from running up the score and to keep starters from getting injured in a game that was already in hand. At least two additional games would have been shut-outs, otherwise.
  16. I think this is very sad (along with declining attendance at games). Can you imagine how the players must feel if they read this? This is the best year HC has had in a long time, the kids are working their tails off, and people seem not to care. I hope someone can explain it. A lot of fans would be honored to be in the position we are in and to show the growth we have. We lose kids to the streets, etc., when we stop showing them we care. Let's talk about the ballgame and the chance we have for a regional title. Let's support these kids.
  17. While we fought among ourselves, I did forget to tell NS what a great job they had done and how far their team has come. I have always liked NS. I hope you guys continue to do well. I am already worried about you next year.
  18. I agree with all you said. My apologies to the Professor. We are playing a great team this week, and all of us need to pull together.
  19. We agree yet again. I have not missed any game, home or away, and am on my feet the entire game. You just have a very negative way of saying things and could probably win more fans to your way of thinking with a more positive attitude. I find you to be extremely arrogant....and I think the way you do. Imagine what you could accomplish with a positive attitude.
  20. Finally, we agree. I have never missed a game and, unless family illness comes into play, never will. I think the true faithful should not only be at every game but be on their feet at every game.
  21. No, you lose the attitude, Chaos! You expect more from a high school team of fifteen through seventeen year olds than you expect from the Titans? Yes, officials make bad calls and get paid to do so, but I, as an intelligent, football-knowledgeable adult, have the right to question them. Get over it.
  22. Puleeze! All run a 4.6 and under? Who is timing them? I don't know why they have lost a game to anyone if all of them, including qb, run under 4.6. Why would he ever throw if he can just take off with the ball? Why aren't they just playing pro ball and forgetting about high school or college? Do I think they are a good team? Yes! Do I think your numbers are the least bit realistic? Uh, no! All of the Henry Co. players run a 12.2, but what they lack in speed they make up for in heart and desire to win ( reference to your earlier post). Let's talk football and chances to win, not some fantasy land dream. You are fooling no one unless I am an idiot who does not understand this game at all.
  23. Did JCM play the same against both teams? Did the two HC coaches leave their starters in for the same amount of time? These and other questions can enter into the equation. I really don't think you can judge how two teams are going to play against each other based on how they played against a common opponent. I do believe Hardin will be disciplined, talented, and tough. Even though we haven't been first since Gaddis has been here, I do think the turn around has been great. I hope it continues. That announcer is quite obnoxious.
  24. One interception in the second half ,I think, was on the HC one yard line. It kept them from having the opportunity to score but gave us horrible field position. In fact, we ended up having to punt out of the end zone. The other interception was by #3 in the first half. He had a long return which set up a touchdown. They fumbled on about our forty yard line. I don't remember it leading to anything. The HC punter uncharacteristically dropping a perfect long snap seemed to change the entire momentum of the game which, otherwise, would probably have been a run-away. Northside blocked a punt later in the game which set up another easy touchdown. We won the first half; they won the second half except for the last four or five minutes; we won the game. That's about the best I can give you in explanation.
  25. I don't think VG is is being smart or showing any favoritism for one HC over the other. He is right. Hardin County is good or this game would not determine who wins the region. Henry County will have to play a full four quarters. I hope Patriot fans don't get on this week with a bunch of ridiculous predictions and make us look cocky. I can't believe the team or coaches feel like it is a given. Hardin Co. has a lot of great players. I think both teams have a battle on their hands.
