  1. The future appears bright. Keep up the good work and good things can happen this year. Coach Brown will produce a consistent winner.
  2. You need to get out more. Nobody's close to what Forrest had (Skelly/Minor), in fact Stooksberry from Collinwood and Ivy from Summertown both threw harder(12A) than any I've seen in 10A this year. I would say Cascade and MTCS are the teams to beat. I've heard Huntland has a lefty that's pretty good, doesn't throw that hard, but has good stuff.
  3. Are we talkin about 10, 11 and 12? I thought C'wood, C'academy, Huntland and Summertown were very good last year. I hear Summertown and Huntland are pretty good this year too. Is this not true? Also didn't Summertown finish 3rd in the state last year?
  4. On Paper - CA hands down is the favorite, they only lost one district game all year last year and didn't lose much to graduation. Cully's coach has some talent to work with and good pitching. Richland was so young last year they should be much improved. Huntland lost probably the most in the district in numbers and talent, but don't count their coach out. He returns some good pitching too. He has three (I think) that should be strong (young lefty) and two senior right handers. Cornersville's coach may be the best baseball man in the district and gets the most out of what he has to work with.
  5. Cool post! It will be a good game unless one doesn't take the other serious and I doubt the coaches let that happen. Didn't Huntland lose to a Jackson team in the semi's in 98 or 99?
  6. It's easy for these class's to get over looked. Who should get some attention?
  7. Forrest is MUCH improved, don't be surprised if this is a close game for 2 or 3 Qtr's. MP will win .... by 2TD's.
  8. Yes, none, no and no, no i'm not dissing huntland they just don't match up well with jb.
  9. I don't recall seeing anyone from the wood signing with UTM; did you walk on?
  10. I think HHS has a good staff, Robertson's strength is defense and everybody in the old DRVC knows it. Usually once per year another coach gets the better of the staff, that's it though. Collinwood last year, Wayne Co. the year before and Cascade the year before that. The kids in Huntland are tough and I believe everyone knows that. This year may be the best Coaching job they've done in a long time. They have some talent, just not as much as they have had. I really don't get the negative post about the staff.
  11. Lil Dixon is a good back; but not in Daily's league. I would say they are one two in the region and Dixon may be a step faster. The difference is the ability to break tackles. I do believe the boy's from the Wood will win the region and have the better team.
  12. I agree that the Region is down overall. I do think this is the best Collinwood team in about 4 years. PC may be a little better than last year. MP is down but still pretty good. MP or Collinwood will win the Region and advance in the playoff's.
  13. Shouldn't be close, Huntland wins..... unless they overlook LV and are looking ahead to MP next week. LV has some athletes. Huntland 28 LV 14
  14. I won't argue the obvious. Mikey will be drafted probably second or third round and will be the first pitcher drafted from our state. Could be a first round pick. I wasn't there but based on what's been said, Drew matched up well today but the errors were the difference? right or wrong?
  15. Any details Gerry? what went wrong and how?
  16. Congrat's to the kids from Mckenzie! Is Drew related to Coach Hayes at Bethel? He beat the best Pitcher in the state this morning. Minor is an All American. Congrat's to Forrest as well. I'm guessing Mikey didn't give up an earned run all year? Great season guy's ! You played hard all year and you played with character.
  17. Did McK have any earned runs? Any details on the errors?
  18. Radio? AM?FM?frequency?
  19. Burley, your post are usually right on and you're obviously a Raider, but my remarks were in comparison to the talent you have had versus what you have now. There was a time not long ago when year end year out y'all were the class of the region and it wasn't because Mac was great, y'all just had the best teams, maybe not even the best players. Surely you'll acknowledge there is a big difference between 96 and 06. I hope the Raiders do well, certainly the coach has to take some responsibilty, just not all his fault.
  20. Collinwood will be tough, well coached and returning one key starter; Bryant. MP is the team to beat, Walt does a great job and he has more athletes than anybody else. I didn't say better, I said more. Robertson does a good job at Huntland. The fact he lost #7 means nothing. The fact he lost Jones, Steele, Simmons off his defense and McCowan & Cole off his offense will hurt them. They will be better than some think. Rice may be the best coach in the region, look for WC to battle. Mark is a good coach at MC, their talent is down and it's obvious. Cornersville is still a year or two away, but they're coming.
  21. Parker from Cascade and Hardison from Forrest. Both these coach's have their teams playing well. Especially Parker, he has limited talent to work with and they are playing very well as a group.
  22. Looking at your schedule, the win over CA is the only one that stands out and that was at home. You have beaten some average teams and some poor teams. If you beat CA at their place and win your district, you will get rewarded by playing a good Summertown or Collinwood team. You guy's have a long way to go before you've done anything. Good luck!
  23. The way in which players act and carry themselves is huge! I remember one college coach telling my son how important looking and acting like a college prospect was. You obviously have to be talented, but this particular coach put allot of stock in chemistry with other players. No punks allowed....
