Chip, i was wondering if you ever got on here and i guess that answers my question. I completly agree with you no doubt in my mind, Jake Nunley deserves mr. Football but there are also other players who deserve it. As i said in an earlier post I don't think there is a fair way to compare all the players, but I will still pull for Nunley to get the award and if he doesn't then it doesn't really matter because Jake will always be considered Mr. Football in Coffee County's book.

I am pretty sure Jake Nunley broke 1900 last week. I remember the PA announcer announcing that he had 1904(or something like that) Ohh yeah he announced that after jake came out of the game, 3 minutes into the 3rd quarter!! My vote goes to Jake i don't think anybody else means more to their team but all three are worthy of the award heck let's have a three way tie and honor them all because i don't think you can fairly compare them all. Think about it: this player doesn't play as much because his team is winning big, this guy plays weaker teams with better stats, this guy is the only reason his team is good, this guys team could win without him, I could go on forever with this I don't think you can fairly compare the players. There is no doubt they are all good and all deserving of the award. I'm gonna go with Jake Nunley though, leading rusher in the state two years in a row that's pretty dang good.

looks like warren co. will see there 40th straight loss, but they play the game for a reason. I remember warren co. giving tullahoma a good game through one half!! This is a team that has nothin to lose so coffee co better not over look, but i think coach price will have his guys ready to play. Coffee co. wins 49-14 varsity will play one half some may play 3 quarters. Nunley will only play the first half and will rack up about 200 yards and three scores. "Book It"

I think that they accept the fact that Jake is their leader and it motivates them, motivates them to play to his level. I think it takes alot of an athlete especially a high school athlete to not get jealous of a teammate with the talent of jake, it takes real team players and that is what coffee co. has. They accept the fact that jake is their leader and they hop on his shoulders and let him carry them to a victory whenever they need to, they know he is their leader and i am sure they love the publicity that he is getting and they would love to see him get the mr. football award that he deserves!! I guess you have figured out that i am promoting Jake Nunley for Mr. Football. Everybody is saying that it's not just about numbers and you are all right it's not, and that should make the case for Jake even stronger!!! He doesn't just go out on the field take the ball and run and get some yards, he works his butt off for every single yard. He's a little undersized (about 5'10 185lbs) and he lacks the great speed of a coker, but yet he still puts up the numbers that he does. He works hard everyday without taking a day off and this also motivates his teammates to do well. When he moved to cc and the other players saw how strong he was and the work ethic he had then it motivated all of them to get that strong and that has trickled down through all of the players and as a result coffee co. is looking at two playoff berths in a row and a chance at getting a home playoff game this year!! It's not all about yards with jake he works hard and takes the hits and still gets the numbers and he has his team winning games. He has the top end speed to outrun you when he gets in the open but he runs people over to get into the open, i've seen him put two linebackers on their backs in the same play and then take off to the outside and outrun the safety to paydirt. This kid plays with heart and should definetly be strongly considered for the Mr. Football award. Some people say his yards per carry are to low well yeah it isn't the highest by far but they guy has what??1400yds? I don't care if it took him 1400 carries to get that many yards if he can take the punishment and the hits that he does and stay healthy and on the field that shows heart and durability and i think that should be considered in the voting. Correct me if i'm wrong but the two years he's played here he missed the 4th quarter of the franklin co. game last year due to a late hit on his knee and i think he missed most of the second half this year against cookeville due to bad cramps and that is it, that's all the time he's missed due to injuries (knock on wood!!) He is a very durable back i don't care if he has 1400 yards on 600 carries or on 100 he is still good either way. Jake Nunley should definetly be considered for Mr. Football!

I would love to see Jake Nunley get Mr. Football award. I definetly think that he should, once again he's right there towards the top of all rushing stats in the state, but for some reason he is still not considered a premier running back ?? I think he should definetly be considered very strongly for Mr. Football because he has definely earned it, he works hard and leads his team, and I'm not for sure where he ranks in the state in rushing but i'm sure he is somewhere in the top 5, so why not??

What does being a bigger school have to do with it?? I know some 2a schools that could slaughter some 4 and 5a schools. It's not determined on talent just enrollment, yeah i know if you have fewer students at the school then you have fewer to play football but if you put 22 strong players out there it don't matter how many are on the bench. You only need eleven anywayz, yeah with that many you would never win because you would be dead tired after a couple of possesions but the fact is it doesn't matter what classification that has nothing to do with the talent on the field. We did play siegel and won by some big score 49-21 or 17 or somethin big i don't remember. If coffee co. comes out to play which i don't see why they wouldn't but as long as they can get emotional for this non-region game then i don't see why they won't win by three scores!! I'm gonna take cc in this one 35-14! " Book It"

Yeah he did look a bit hobbled....it looked like his ankles were gettin to him just a little bit....after jinx broke them....great game raiders and i'm with you treydaddy the fan support was awesome and i would like to see some of the other people quit complaining because they can't see and just stand up!! you are supposed to be their to support your raiders then do it and do it right!! It's not deadchester anymore alot of people are excited about football here again and it's wonderful now lets just get the rest of the people involved and it will be great!! Just maybe we can get that Home playoff game and make it electric there!! That's what i want to see and to get that home playoff game we need to win some more games and they will do that if the fan support continues to grow!! GREAT GAME RAIDERS!! I'll break down whatever i wanna break down, and get on with my life after high school? I didn't know that only high school students could be interested in high school sports? if that was the case then you could wipe out this site cuz it's mostly people out of high school and game attendance would be pretty low cuz only high school students could go and as far as somebody telling me to move on well y don't you just be the one to meet me up there tonight and you can tell me yourself! and no i never did play football in high school but i have several friends who do play and i am gonna go out there and support them , i did play high school baseball and i know what it's like to play high school sports and i know it feels good to have your friends there to cheer you on. Just because i graduated doesn't mean that i can't still have friends in high school, what's your problem it's not like i said anything bad about CC anywayz i'm just statin the few facts that i know and then my opinions which i don't really care to much if you like it or not. You need to back down and hey don't hide behind a name and talk bad about me at least i let my name stay to where you know who i am get out from behind that name and start talkin smack! Just because I graduated doesn't mean i'm going to forget my high school friends. I been friends with some of these players since i was little and i'm just supposed to forget them because i graduated? I don't think so that doesn't make me any better than them, i will always be there to support them in football, basketball, baseball, whatever it may be i'm not just goin to leave them. I bleed "Raider Red" for life, i will never forget where i come from and i will never forget that. I'm not trying to live my high school life again believe me i loved it while it lasted but i've moved on, but i will always support my raiders especially one year out of high school when i still have several friends on the team. Guys, this isn't close! Jake Nunley from Coffee Co. is the best fullback in the state of tennessee. But he's not really a fullback, with coffee co. wing-t formation he's the fullback and that is the main back out of that formation. He would be a halfback in any other formation but cc runs the wing-t and that is who gets the ball in that offense. I'm sure you've heard of him, he only led the state in rushing last year with 2,020 yards or somethin like that may have been a few more, td's were uncountable. This year he has over a 1000 yards in 5 games and once again i can't even count the td's. He's not a scat back either he is huge, he is very strong very impressive numbers in the weightroom, he has a good chance to lead the state in rushing again this year. He was first team all-state last year and pre-season first team all-state this year. Does it get any better than that?

I don't have to watch the gamefilm i was there and watched the clock very closely. After they ran two plays with the clock stopped they knocked off bout 30 seconds. As for the spotting heck i don't know. They are high school referees not SEC or NFL they ain't gonna be perfect not saying they can't improve either. But as far as worse in the state?? i don't think so

wow, that's the biggest bunch of crap i have ever heard!! Coffee co. officials have not been like that all year. They have had clock problems but that's just bad connection with the clock operator, and last week that affected coffee co. They lost a few seconds maybe like 10 or so on their last drive because of the clock not stopping right away!! You need to get your stuff straight

extracurricular activity? From franklin county? surely not!! Just like Quincy didn't do anything last week to be ejected i find that hard to believe. He may not have been doing something extremely bad but he was obviously doing something bad enough to have a referres attention and nobody should even be doing that. It gets out of hand sometimes and i think officiating crews should be more strict. They don't just eject somebody for no reason though i can tell you that. He obviously did something. Franklin co. has never been known for their clean style of play just like that "extracurricular activity" last year after a play that put nunley out and it takes alot to put somebody that carries the ball 30-35 times a game out!! It wouldn't suprise me to see them try something like that this year!!! GO RAIDERS!!!!

The passing game very limited but consistent. It's not like when Adam Clark was there the last three years when the passing and scrambling threat was deadly. Nikki Hibdon a junior is a tall lanky pocket passer. There is nothing wrong with being a pocket passer but the threat of him running is almost non existent and with the raider offense a quick QB is helpful. They usually just use one or two receivers with a TE. The WR's are very talented seniors Jinx Hartsfield and Jere Davidson and i'm not even sure who plays TE whoever it is blocks lol. We used to have a TE with receiver speed and TE size with amazing hands but he's down for the year. I've only seen them spread it out with 4WR one time and that was for a 50 yard hail-mary which was completed for a TD with no time left before the half!! I'm not sure if they even have slot receivers on the bench they usually just throw a wingback out their if they go 3-wide which isn't very often. They also like to throw to the wingbacks out of the backfield on play passes. They don't pass much but when they do they are usually effective. It should be interesting to watch. I don't expect Hibdon to go out their and take the team in his hands and take them to victory i just expect him to play in his game minimize mistakes and don't lose the game for them.

I agree with that but i don't see him being effective early because they will be going to jake early and often. If they use the playaction early then he will be effective because it will free up the receivers because FC is expecting the same thing that me and everybody else in that stadium will be expecting, NUNLEY!! They have two fast tallented receivers so if they get free early then CC could strike quick but who knows?? It will be a great game to watch i don't think i will sit down the whole game! I hope not because because if i am then that probably means FC is running away with it because i don't see CC blowin anybody out. What does everybody else think? Just how big of an impact does Quincy Russel have on this game? I know he torched us pretty good last year!!

I'm not necessarily sayin that coffee co. offense is that much better than other teams that FC has played cuz i kno franklin co. has played some good offenses and they do have a good defense. I'm just sayin that i don't think Franklin co. has really seen coffee co. style of offense this year and i think that we are catching franklin co. at a good time(good time for CC) and i think that will be the difference. I think the offensive line will block well enough and Jake will take care of the rest. I'm not sayin the offense is that much better than the other teams you've played i'm just sayin that they are "That good" Franklin co. does have a good defense maybe i am being a little unrealistic i'll back off a some. Nunley will have 175+ !!! "Book It"

They may not be the loudest but they are very loud, they may not be the rowdiest but they are no doubt rowdy, but they are the most loyal!! I'm talkin about my guys at Coffee County!!! When Hurricane ivan rolled through tennessee coffee co. and cumberland co. had to reschedule their game from friday at 7 to thursday at 5. I believe this decision was made on wednesday night. Despite the change in schedule coffee co. had about 40 proud students form a student section in cumberland co. that night. I know your saying 40 people big deal? But it was a big deal. It was 40 students who drove in terenchel downpours and high winds for two hours, one hour of that trip is a curvy two lane road that is uphill for about an half hour. This after their Raider team had dropped two straight games that landed them at 1-2. Despite all of that the poor 1-2 record, the long drive, and the heavy heavy rains those 40 students along with former students and other Red Raider Faithful made the trip and cheered their raiders on to a much needed victory over cumberland co. They were very loud for 40 students no band or cheerleaders either!! At home you can take that 40 and multiply it by about 3 or 4 and that's how big the really loud rowdy student section is that doesn't include the ones who stand behind them and yell occasionally. Their are about 150 or so that are on their feet yellin the whole game and the ones around them and behind them just yell when they feel needed (big situations) Then add on the other Former students and Raider faithful that attend the games and this is one rowdy electrified place in the little town of Manchester. Not meaning to go off subject right here or anything but i'm gonna talk about baskeball for just a second. DO NOT try to compare your basketball section to coffee co's. YOU WILL NOT WIN!!! I'm not for sure how they will be this year because they lost several seniors but last year they were without a doubt the loudest, craziest, rowdiest, most relentless student section to ever exist "The 6th Man" would let you know just how horrible you were(even if you were good lol) but back to football these guys may not be the loudest or rowdiest but they stay behind their team win or lose, rain or shine. The offensive line takes care of all their assignments Jake Nunley runs for 180+ and 2+ scores. Nikki Hibdon completes key passes when they need him, Emily Shelton will be perfect on PAT's and the key to this game, Josh Hollins will be a perfect 1 for 1 on Fg attempts!! Raiders win 24-21!! Where did i go??!!! I've just been keeping quiet! Now let me say something else about this game. Now that quincy is playing it makes for a more interesting game, but i'm still gonna stay with the Raiders. I think Franklin Co. has to many problems going on with that football team to win. In my opinion Chemistry can take a team twice as far a talent alone can. I'm keeping my score 24-21 Raiders prevail !!! Nunley 180+! "Book it"

Let me tell yall how it's gonna be. This game is gonna be very very close. Coffee co. is just four points away from being perfect. They are four points away from perfect and they haven't played their best football yet. Look at last year's game, coffee co was dominated statistically but they went into the 4th quarter trailing only 28-21. It seems to always be the story, coffee county may not always win the statistical battle but they always find a way to give themselves a shot in the 4th quarter. This game means more to the raiders than some people think. Besides the fact of it being a region rivalry, this is the only team that everyone says coffee county can't beat. Everyone gives them a chance against every other team but they get no chance against the Rebels. Don't get me wrong Franklin co. has a excellent football team but Coffee co. steps up their game this friday night. They haven't performed to their full potential one time this year and they still find themselves in close games. Who knows what then can do when they play a full four quarter football game? I think Bill Price will realize he has a quality kicker standing behind him on the sidelines this week and actually let him kick a FG. The kicker (Hollins) has not been tested in a game situation so nobody can really tell how he will respond but i know he is capable of hitting from 50+ i've seen him do it. Price will give him a chance this week and he will not dissapoint him. Coffee co. wins a close one. Nunley has 180+ (he's tired of losing) Defense plays their heart out as they do every game.
