  1. GO MARYVILLE i think melrose is pretty good after looking at some stats, but paper doesnt say it all. I think they have more speed than Maryville, but Maryville has good speed and the coaching to fire that good speed up. PS: sorry dmoyers i stoll your picture but i needed a a picture for my signiture!
  2. I love maryville, but I have to say I agree. Most of the guys on here trash the opponent instead of putting up their team.
  3. The maryville v central game at central last year was one of the best ive ever seen...also the one this year at maryville..great games
  4. for those of you who get the daily times and flipped through the Sports section...The All-County football team was pictured and had VERY short articles on us...well i talked to Coach Malone at MMS and he gave me what he really sent in on us...here they are... Cody Mccoy For the second year in a row Cody led the team in scoring, rushing yardage, and total yardage. Coady has been a 2-year starter on both sides of the ball. This season he had 709 yards rushing in only six games. He led the team in scoring: 14 TD's and 5 two-pt conversions for a total of 94 points. Cody had five games where he rushed for over 100 yards. His "highlight game" was 177 yards and 4 TD's in a win vs. WBMS. Cody also started at OLB on defense, and was one of the leading tacklers this season for the Bulldogs. Chris Jordan Chris started at WR and CB for the bulldogs this season. He was the leading receiver with 15 catches for 328 yds and 7 TD's. He was also the second leading scorer on the team with 9 TD's for 54 pts. One of his TD's this sean was an 85 yd. kick return. Chris's "highlight game" was 4 catches for 121 yds and 2 TD's in a win v Seveir County. On D, chris had 2 interceptions and returned a blocked punt for a TD. Zane Winders Zane started all 7 games at quarterback for the bulldogs this season. He threw for over 400 yards, had 8 TD passes, and only 2 int's. His "highlight game" was 9/10 completions for 148 yds and 2 TD passes in a win v Seveir County. In 6 out of seven games played, Zane threw at least 1 TD pass in each. Zane was a very consistent and confident leader at QB this season. Marcus Engelhardt Marcus started on both sides of the line this season. On offense he was a starting thackle that helped pave the way for the most points scored in a season(222) at MMS. Many of his blocks created great holes for the running backs and excellent pass protection for Winders. Marcus had extremely consistent blocking techniques that served as a great example for the other linemen on the team. On D he started at tackle where he was one of the top sack leaders. Josh Sullivan Josh started at center on offense and tackle on defense. He obviously played a great role in the success of the offense this season by consistent snaps to Winders. Many of his snaps were Shotgun also. He provided great pass protection ofter the snap where he usually had a noseguard to bock. As a starter on defense, Josh also had many big plays and helped create great pressure on the opposing teams QB.
  5. we all have superstars dont we?
  6. that sounds more like it. Maryville does own a lot of teams out there. Central is good competition...somtimes but this year has been pretty easy for our guys to dominate...although Friday night did scare me a little
  7. how about we say that then?...your pretty much right...except for maryville...i think we would get beat by a 5a team, but not absolutly "crushed"
  8. Just incase you dont remember...Maryville won one of the three state titles the year we went 0-4...
  9. I'm from maryville so i hate this guy...he is a QB but is probably one of the best runners in the state-----Zack Helton
  10. Hey bud, hows about we look at maryvilles schedule for a second...i think we play Heritage, WB, and sometimes Sevier County and South doyle...5a region wouldnt be as close if we moved...all the heritage and WB fans think they are awesome because the worst teams in the state are in their 5a region(SD for example) plus were are and have been dominating in 4a for what 6 or 7 years...why would we move if were succeeding?
  11. As regards to friday...i saw AB and spoke to him at Appalachian Therapy Center this morning before school. I asked him if he would be playing on friday and he was almost certain he would play. Friday morning he will go to therapy to get "checked out" and most likely play. I doub't GQ and Coach White II keep him in long though...we need him for the THS game and STATE sence we will be going to both...sry central but 56-10 right?
  12. I hurt my ankle a while back and I am still in therapy. This morning AByner had his boot on and wasnt planning on practicing for a few days and Joe Black told me that there wasnt a HUGE hope for him playing. Tallent on the otherhand...he was also at therapy getting isokenetic stimulation...the electricity thing that sooths pain...he talked to me and explained that AB got hurt the last offensive series and if they would have had another, Tallent would have been taped up and back in. Forecast for friday...AB in jeans on the sideline...Tallent- running all over central... FINAL- Maryville 42 Central 13
  13. That was a great game. Being qb for maryville was such a privilage. The great guys on that team were humble. In that game we were down 14-0 at half time. Coach Malone gave us the greatest halftime speach i have ever heard(next to the one on friday night lights). We came out in the second half and tied it up with a 46 yrd run by C. McCoy and a 30 yd TD pass from me to C. Jordan. Late in the fourth still 14-14 i threw the worst pass i have ever thrown in my entire life. We ran a back into the flats in the backfield and a linebacker step right up...still, being in 8th grade, i threw the pass not reading the linebacker at full speed to intercept it...they returned it for a TD despite GREAT effort by C. McCoy(the fastest running back in east TN with a 4.79 40 time in 8th grade) to run him down. We got another shot but we were already crushed by a huge momentum buster. Thats how that game came out 22-14...i take all the credit for that loss.
  14. Getting away with murder by papa roach is pretty good...
