  1. I want to also congratulate the Riverside Panthers on a very good and successful season. Your fans are very proud of you and you should be proud of yourselves. You guys have played with heart and determination, overcoming obstacles to include injuries, major illnesses, and hospitalization. You played a very talented team last night. You have nothing to be ashamed about. You hung in there very well until the momentum swung into an unrecoverable position. But hey, that's football and that's why we play it. Some of you will have the opportunity to play at the college level. Whatever you do, don't let that slip you by; the chance may not come around again. And PLEASE, dear Panthers, don't forget from whence you came and the people who helped get you to where you are today. Also good luck to our region 6AA comrads who will go onward into next week and beyond. May you have an injury free and successful post season. Till next time... etechdude
  2. Of course last night is old news, and congratulations to Riverside on a BIG win! Lewis Co. played a very good game and has lots of good atheletes on their team. What may not be entirely known is that at least 3 of Riverside's starters were in bed with severe illnesses all week and didn't practice, one of them which was in the hospital until Friday morning, and still came out and played their hearts out. That to me shows charachter, guts, and a willingness to win. Get well boys, practice hard, and hit the field running against Camden on Friday.
  3. That's the gospel truth rcombs. Those Waverly boys are big AND tough. I was talking with an old coach of mine at the Waverly - Riverside game, and he commented on what a good football team they had. Good luck to all.
  4. Lord willing and the creek don't rise!
  5. Tell Ekard to point you out to me, I would like to meet you as well.
  6. Well, you hit the nail on the head, except for the PATs that is. Should've been 21-14, really it should have been 28-0.
  7. Good luck to our MIGHTY RIVERSIDE PANTHERS tonight! Uh, BTW, I'm pickiing Riverside. Go get em boys! Go PANTHERS!
  8. I agree Ekard. Among the schools looking at these two: Bethel Lambuth Vanderbilt MTSU University of Memphis Ole Miss
  9. In order to win games, every member of the team has to step onto the field with the belief that they will win. They they must take that belief and execute and win their assignment. If those things happen...it's a W.
  10. Ditto. It's considered YELLING in the computer world. But hey, maybe you were yelling, and if so, then I recant. I know how frustrated one can get with a coaching staff, and I'm not referring to Riverside football's coaching staff; many moons ago in another sport.
  11. I see Camden walking away with this one. But watch out for those Waverly boys, they will come to play.
  12. I'll be back for Camden and Stewart Co. I heard there were scouts there last night. Keep us posted.
  13. As I noted in another post on Lewis County vs. Riverside, I think the key to winning this game will be mistake free football. Yes you can say that everygame, but this one has the potential to go down to has the last posession. Just look at the turnovers Waverly had last night, 6 to be exact. You can't win giving up the football like that. And Riverside's punting HAS to be downfield, whatever or whoever it takes. Those short yardage kicks will black your eye everytime. I'm of course picking my home boys, Riverside. GO PANTHERS!
  14. Good point Wisdon. I think the key to winning this matchup will be playing mistake free football. Look at the 6 turnovers Waverly had last night. Had that not happened, the score may have been a little different, and Hatton probably would not have gotten the mega yardage he had. Good luck to both teams (especially Riverside, Go Panthers!). This will be a real good football game to watch (or listen to in my case).
  15. I think it's going to be a very nice homecoming for Riverside. Last 3 games for Riverside... vs Richland > scored 35 points vs Houston Co > scored 35 points vs Adamsville > scored 47 points These boys are on a roll!
  16. I hear that we have some injuries. Is the team going to be 100% this week? Not sure about the extent of the injuries as of yet. We'll see what goes the rest of the week.
  17. I hear that we have some injuries. Is the team going to be 100% this week? Not sure about the extent of the injuries as of yet. We'll see what goes the rest of the week.
  18. Riverside's D showed up last week against Houston Co. They will need to continue this synergy to win games. Smith is exceptionally exciting to watch and gets the job done very effectively. Quarterback Chase Brasher looks confident and seems to get better each and every game. McCormick is getting more carries now that he's healthy, and pounds the defense. WKJQ announcer Spud Taylor called him a "D-8 Cat". Look for him to get even more carries as Riverside controls the clock on this one.
  19. Congratulations Panthers! It was good to see Sean McCormick back to 100% again, coming off a two week stretch with a respiratory infection. Hunter Smith and Jay Gilbert both had great games and along with McCormick, they are a fierce backfield trio. Coach Barrett tightened up the "D" as predicted. There is still work to be done, so guys, work hard this week in practice and let's take Adamsville! Way to go!
  20. Leonard and Wilbanks are good and I think they can play on Saturday as well. And thanks for mentioning one of our own, Sean McCormick. He has had a rough start this year being hamped by a lower respiratory infection for two games which, when you can't breathe, makes a huge difference in your playing ability. He will be back to full form this Friday night and hopefully the rest of the season. You will see him play on Saturday too. He studies the game and has a nose for the football. Thanks again and good luck to the other guys a well.
  21. That should indeed be illegal. The announcer at Loretto did a similar thing last year when Riverside scrimmaged them. It was like he was purposfully taunting Riverside when something went against them. Didn't do it so bad this year though.
  22. Sorry USJ, but this one will hurt, a lot.
  23. After coming off a much needed win last week against a very talented Richland team, can Riverside go to Houston Co and make it two in a row? This fan thinks they can, and will!
  24. I agree, the D needs to step it up some. In the Richland game, they varied from their traditional defense to one that they hadn't run before, so it was all new to the players. Coach Barrett will get that tightend up in practice this week, believe me, I used to play for him, and things will be much stiffer against Houston Co. I love football! Go Riverside!
