  1. thought i would start a new thread. This should be an excellent game. Someone clue us in on how it went.
  2. Looking for a score on CHS vs. Warren Co. boys...
  3. Just wondering if anyone knew how Clarkrange looked against Warren County tonight.
  4. Oneida played a great first half, but man Clarkrange just exploded in the third quarter behind Howard and Ramsey. Is Gordonsville the early favorite out of 8A? Friendship sure did look bad vs. RBS. What about Westmoreland?
  5. Chelsa Brown at Clarkrange is something else. She led them in scoring in their opener versus Oliver Springs.
  6. Clarkrange also had six players in their rotation last year, but that is not that unusual in single A---Gleason, Bradford, sure there are others. Bigger schools can usually go deeper.
  7. It is just a scrimmage. Who else did Clarkrange play at playday and how did it turn out? I noticed that Perry County whipped Upperman, and it seems Summertown played very well down there. Could all three be as good as last year?
  8. This should be a great opener for both schools. Oliver Springs is going single A next season and should be a powerhouse in that division from the East (based on what tehy have done the past few years anyway). What's everyones thoughts. I hear OS has a great post player and some players that can light is up from outside (Monk).
  9. How does everyone see this one going. How is Oliver Springs this season?
  10. Howard will be wearing a different kind of blue this season. She is now a Clarkrange Lady Buffalo and should help in the state title defense.
  11. Clarkrange fans are always out in full force and walking into any gym with 7 gold balls in the trophy case and enough all-state playeres jerseys retired to fill 4 or 5 closets makes it even more intimidating. The old Celina coal pit was also an interesting place to visit and hitting the wall was out of bounds in Gordonsville back in the day. I agree with all teh comments.
  12. I agree that if these girls stick together they'll make quite a team. I think they could sneak up to the #2 spot in district this year possibly. How are things looking in Hermitage Springs and Monterey. I hear there is a mess a brewing in Pickett County, no one can make up for Cook's departure??..is that true? I think that we may see some new players rise to the challenge in Byrdstown.
  13. Red Boiling Springs- you drive for two days to get there, then you are cramped up like sardiens, and they always pull a few upsets up there!
  14. there ya go! bring 'em on! But first there is a big season ahead.
  15. LOL that's just bad...but I have to admit (nothing personal) but I am not crazy about the coaching scene in RBS.
  16. No disrespect, but has Smith Co. and Upperman got some new players or is it just most of the same from last year...have the gotten a lot better. I guess my point is that the University of Jackson County does have some new faces and Livingston rarely has a bad team. Smith County and Upperman will have to show me they can beat jc and la before I am convinced they are the best teams. It is unbelievable how consistantly good the teams in this district are and how they have been the best in the state for the past 5 years, if not longer. Should be a great year.
  17. In watching the state tournament teams from last year, I think that the teams from Middle Tenn. had more fundamental strengths. Peabody may have had a bad game against Clarkrange, but they were just dominated in every phase of the game, and then, they just gave up. I expected Huntingdon to be much quicker and thought that Clarkrange would have a hard time running with them, but again Clarkrange's defense stepped up and slowed them down. Bobbitt will make Peabody a good team, but I just don't expect them to be as dominant in the West as they were last year....but they still may be the best team out West. It will be interesting to see what there new coach brings to the team. I still think Chatt. Christian is the team to beat. Watch some film on them and see if you are not impressed. According to the many of the people on the board, Perry County is gonna be something else. I would love to have seen a regular season game where they matched up with Clarkrange or Clay Co. And by the way, I have to admit I am kinda jealous of this 7AA/13AA day they are having. It would be awsome to bring some of the single a teams together like this. Maybe not one district vs another, but say some middle vs west action.... Clarkrange vs. Gleason, Clay Co. vs. Peabody, Pickett County vs. Huntingdon, Red Boiling Springs vs. Bradford, Monterey vs. Dresden........That would be pretty cool.
  18. There is a lot of talk about Jackson Co. coming to the district. I guarantee you that no one dreads it, "no one" is afraid of them, and they will make this by far the toughest single A district in the state. Single A won't be a cake walk for Jackson County.
  19. Clarkrange's Jordan Ramsey is awsome from outside!
  20. Clarkrange has everyone back from last year I think. They are a senior laiden team and Laws can take over a game.
  21. Hey I admit I blew it when I left out Perry County...I should have had them in the top five, they just slipped my mind for a minute. They (PCHS) are definetly a contender this year. Chatt Christian has a great team. They have to be in the top five....see them play and you'll understand. Clarkrange and Clay County are of course two of my favorites, they'll be in the mix.
  22. I just disagree about RBS. I think they are running out of talent. Don't get me wrong they have some good players, but they'll be lucky to go 1 deep on the bench. I think Pickett is a strong #1, the 2-4 spots are very debatable. I would give Clay County and Clarkrange the edge over RBS because of their depth.
  23. 1. Chattanooga Christian- everyone back from substate team, Mason leads the way. 2. Clarkrange- Cravens and Ramsey anchor the new look Lady Buffs, inside game will raise some brows. 3. Gleason- Traditional powerhouse will be dominant team from the west this season...can the keep it going in tourny or will the fizzle out. 4. Peabody- The Lady Tide will rely on old faces looking to build off new found success. Bobbit will be a Miss basketball finalist. 5. Unaka- They are better than their showing in state last season, everyone returns. Osborne may be one of the best players in E. Tennessee. 6. Franklin Road Academy- New faces will contibute to a strong core left over from last season. 7. Clay County- Simms is gone...but is the magic? Herrmann will have alot of the offensive load on her shoulders. 8. Summertown- Made state last season and nucleus of team returns. Coach Willard's team will make some noise in midstate. 9. Red Boiling Springs- Yeah- I'm serious...alot of experience from last seaon will improve an explosive offense. Could be best Lady Dawg team since early 90's. 10. Dresden - Lady Lions look to prove they belong in this group. They have the potential to win in the West. others.......Friendship Christian, Goodpasture, Cosby, Oneida, Westmoreland, Gordonsville, Wayne County, Moore County For fun....teams who I just don't see winning much this year that have been pretty tough in the past.......Ezell-Harding, Bradford, Huntingdon, Wartburg..maybe I am wrong??wadda ya think?
  24. I agree wil sleeper, I'm afraid that York may struggle this year, but this district always suprises. Upperman should be tough again.
  25. (A)Jordan Ramsey- Clarkrange, (AA)Brandi Brown - York --- Both would be great choices
