  1. Dropped the mic just like Sexual Chocolate in "Coming to America"
  2. Saturday morning here is the brakets link http://www.tssaa.org/2009Champions/Stat ... racket.htm Appreciate you knoxball. I was just wondering... I graduated from Melrose in the same class as Joe Jackson's aunt and remember his dad and uncle playing on the Melrose state championship team back in '78. Nino was at Melrose last year. Would you or anybody else on the board happen to know what other players on White Station's team have Orange Mound Ties?
  3. When are the State Tournament bracket matchups announced?
  4. Switched over to the White Station game on the net and missed the final stats.
  5. White Station had only 3 field goals in the second half
  6. At the end of 3, 54-43 White Station
  7. Melrose game can be heard at the link below http://www.mcsk12.net/88.5liveStream.html Memphis city Schools 88.5
  8. Melrose wins 98-84 Thursday, March 4 at Central 7 p.m. -- Championship game, White Station vs. Melrose
  9. Tuesday at Memphis Central 6 p.m. -- Ridgeway vs. White Station 7:30 p.m. -- Melrose vs. Southwind Nice Region final 4. It does not get much better. The seeding holds to form. To bad that two of these teams will go home after Tuesday. In my opinion, any of the four could win the state championship.
  10. Who happens to be in Region 5AAA Beech Clarksville Henry County Lebanon Northeast Mt. Juliet Gallatin West Creek I think crimsontide43 is just having a little fun.
  11. Looks like the first round pairings will be Melrose - Germantown Ridgeway - East White Station - Overton Southwind - Central Semi Finals Melrose - Germantown Winner vs Southwind - Central Winner Ridgeway - East Winner vs. White Station - Overton Winner
  12. The Region 8-AAA field is comprised of some strong teams. At least 5 teams from the region would likely be favored to win a state championship if facing teams from other regions. Is this the strongest/deepest regional field ever? What are your predictions?
  13. Overton beat down Germantown 104-77. So Melrose will play Germantown and White Station plays Overton in the 1st round of the region.
  14. Melrose erased a 10 point halftime deficit to defeat White Station 71-64
  15. Well that's a matter of opinion. One good thing about this is that sooner or later we will settle it on the court!!
  16. I can't see Melrose not bringing a large crowd if fortunate enough to make it. The alumni base is extremely strong plus Orange Mound and Melrose are inseparable. Switching gears a little bit, I remember Ridgeway losing to Sheffield back in November in the Hall of Fame game. I see them listed as undefeated in several places. Can anybody tell me what's up with that?
  17. I got to check them out at Liberty a couple of weeks ago. They're very very impressive and I'll even venture to say that this years Melrose team will be better than the national ranked Liberty team a few years ago. The state championship will be White Station versus Melrose this year. Their run to the championship will be a breeze, however the championship game between the two will be awesome!!! I also think Melrose is on the level of Oak Hill this year. Melrose and Oak Hill would make for a great game. Oak Hill will whipe Siegel off the face of the earth when they play. If Hammonds doesn't get back in time for that game, Oak Hill could win by 45-50 points over Siegel. I must say Siegel is way over-rated according to what the people are claiming on here, even with Hammonds. The irony of all this is that Memphis newspaper, The Commercial Appeal, has White Station ranked #1 in its "Dandy Dozen" poll, ahead of Melrose. It's a pretty good poll, actually. I just think that Melrose is a clear-cut #1, not White Station! I'd put White Station @ #2. Here is the CA's poll, dated December 10, 2009: 1. White Station / 4-0 / 2. Melrose / 9-0 / 3. Southwind / 6-1 / 4. Germantown / 6-1 / 5. Central / 5-0 / 6. Olive Branch / 8-0 / 7. Horn Lake / 8-0 / 8. Cordova / 4-1 / 9. Sheffield / 5-2 / 10. Ridgeway / 3-0 / 11. East / 5-1 / 12. BTW / 4-0 / I was able to see Melrose play Sheffield in the MLK championship and left the game feeling that if there was a better team in Memphis than what I just saw, I would love to see them. Thankfully, we have at least two opportunities for them to settle it on the court. This Melrose team reminds me of the 1978 Melrose 38-1 team that had White Station's Joe Jackson's father and uncle on it.
  18. First I would like to congratulate Henry County on their victory. Good Luck and bring home the title. The lack of a kicking game, specifically PAT conversions, have been been a killer for my Golden Wildcats for far too long. I'm sure there must be a reason beyond my view that we cannot develop a person to kick a 20 yard PAT. When you get to this level of competition, it is imperative that you convert PATs with consistency. Anyway, great effort by both teams. My Golden Wildcats competed as expected and gave maximum effort. I think I will go pray for a kicker or two /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  19. Always Good KDub. Call me when you get a moment. I understand the sting from the Whitehaven playoff loss. The tough ones always leave a scar. Everybody is well. My son like's Purdue and has gained 20 pounds. I will email you and give you all the 411. Looking forward to tonight's game. You know I will be blowing up phones at the stadium.
