  1. Jamie Wilkerson, Ravenwood RB Bruce McCurdy, Brentwood QB
  2. lipscomb's running back last year (jamie wilkerson) was kicked out of school for drinking on campus. he will be at ravenwood this coming year. any word on whether he will be eligible or not?
  3. Well, I heard the thing about a mascot change from a Franklin student. If anyone remembers, FRA did the same thing many years ago when they changed from the Rebels to the Panthers. I actually heard her say the new mascot, but forgot what it was. WHO KNOWS WHAT IT'S GONNA BE? Or, WILL IT STAY THE SAME?

    rocky top

Actually, does Rocky Top even qualify as a fight song? No. I just got back from the Dickson County-Brentwood game, and at one point during the 2nd quarter, Dickson County had the nerve to play that song. I'll admit, it's a good song, but it's kinda overrated. Anybody agree/disagree? Post comments here. --Adam brown BHS class of 08
  6. hey bud, have you ever seen these east TN teams play? their play is so fluid, it's scary. at least one east tennessee team deserves to be ahead of riverdale, and one is (dobyns bennett). so think before you speak next time and just because riverdale has an undefeated record is beating their opponents by at least 40 points a game doesn't mean that they are the best in the state. the midstate, definitely, but those east tennessee teams are good.
  7. Everybody knows that region 6-5A is the most exciting region in Tennessee, but how do the standings really work? Brentwood is in first (which I have no problem with, as i go to BHS), but how are they in first? Right now, here's where they stand: Brentwood (5-2, 3-1 6-5A) Dickson Co. (4-3, 3-1) Franklin (6-1, 3-1) Centennial (4-3, 2-2) Clarksville (3-4, 2-2) Ravenwood (5-2, 2-2) Henry Co. (2-5, 1-3) Kenwood (1-6, 0-4) I see a pattern in the region records, but how are Brentwood and Dickson Co. ahead of Franklin, who has a better overall record than both of them. Plus, Franklin beat Dickson County, so how is Franklin in 3rd instead of 2nd? Before seeing these standings, I had thought that Franklin was in a tie with Brentwood by the numbers, but Brentwood would come out on top due to their victory over Franklin. I learned this from the SEC formula for determining tiebreakers. Also, Franklin plays Ravenwood this Thursday. I thought that by losing to Ravenwood, Franklin would have no shot at the region title, and it would go home to B-town for a 4th consecutive year. I think I've cleared everything up myself, but somebody else back me up on this so I can understand it better.
  8. I read recently on the Unapproved Website football recruiting site that Brentwood TE/DL Thomas Welch (6'7" 228) will be attending Vanderbilt in the fall. However, it doesn't actually say that he has signed, but Vanderbilt is the only school on his interest list. Being a Vanderbilt season ticket holder, I think it would be great for the Vanderbilt program, but not for Thomas Welch. Being from the Nashville area, Vanderbilt does have an edge, but judging from the football prominence and emphasis, Vanderbilt comes in last in the SEC. Welch has all of the SEC schools (at least) looking at him, so why does he choose Vandy? If I were him, I would either look at UT, Florida, Georgia, or Auburn, but that's just me, and I'm only looking at prestige, and not location. Someone who knows him better than me, please respond, and either tell me I'm wrong (which I don't have a problem with), or tell me where he actually is planning on going.
