Give the Dog Pound a year or two before it gets any recognition. I hardly know any tourneys in their infancy that are considered killer. We started this tournament for a specific reason...to give some confidence to guys who might not get it at a tougher tournament. By the way, we did have some state medalists at our tourney last year. Jason Casteel Kenny Meredith Aaron Martin DeAntonio Johnson Not as many as others, but for a first year tourney, not too bad. And this year, we have added Clarksville and some Memphis flavor GO BULLDOGS Also, I wasn't going to quit last year...my statement was that maybe I should allow another coach to come in and help the Bulldogs move to another level. Yet several made it sound like I was crying and quitting. Not the case. It's going to be a great year though....Let's wrestle Gonyea

I would like to respond to this...but I'm going to bite my tongue. Just keep in mind...no one ever mentioned the Dog Pound until you brought it up.

Where in the title of this topic does it say that this is a Ronnie Carter Bashing session. Ronnie Carter has made some great things happen. My point was, should we push for double elimination...like maybe have a united front to present the idea...Instead we have chosen to bash a man... This is really disturbing... CoachGonyeaSHS

Considering that most of us know that weaker guys get carried into the consolations by a strong #1 guy, should TSSAA make the state tournament a double elimination bracket? I bring this up every year...should we make some more noise about it?

Don't you think this will just step up the intensity of our wrestlers in each region. If you want to make it to state guaranteed, then finish in the top 3. I have seen several wrestlers that once they made it to the 3rd and 4th place medal round, just give up because they knew they had already made it to state. I have even heard some wrestlers say that they would rather finish 4th than 3rd because the chances of getting carried were better at 4th than 3rd. Just an observation.

We are expecting you...This is really going to be a fun tourney. I am in the process of getting an Indiana team to come.

I didn't say anything bad about Dakis. Just a question. Why did you assume I was talking bad about him. Just wondered if maybe you were him. On another note, you gotta give the new soccer coaches (boys and girls) a chance. They aren't Coach Dakis, they have their own style and the players have to get used to them and the style of soccer they play. I know very little about Soccer, but from what I see and hear, our girls are happy with their new coach. Besides, I wasn't trying to be a COOL GUY...I was trying to be a super sleuth and you ruined it for me...DANG. I was so close E-mail me and let me know who you are. I'll keep it quiet. This is so funny...just a curious question...I said nothing negative about anybody...just made an observation...an incorrect one mind you... I found out after I posted that the coachT clocks are a little messed up. I will contact Looper tomorrow for an immediate geography lesson. Okay, Let's think a little out of our own region and come up with some predictions.... Top 2 Dual Teams that should represent their region in the State.... What do you think?

I don't think Dave is making a prediction on region 8, but if he was and didn't pick us to win it, he's probably right, my eternal optimism gets me in trouble often. I wouldn't doubt that Hendersonville will be the team to beat. However, Lavergne may end up doing better than people are giving them credit for. Who does Springfield have coming back this year?

That's how coaches loose their jobs. Some kid gets hurt in the car pool and someone loses their job...Seen it happen too many times...

Not quite the team to beat, but not a team that will lay down and lose easily. The heart of these guys is pretty big. We may make some noise in this new region. Coach Gonyea

All of them are going to 2 - 3 camps this summer and we are also running an open wrestling room 3 nights a week.

ZERO!!! Rough year last year, but things are really looking up. Our line-up(sans injuries) will be tougher than we have ever put together. Previous season is not always an indicator of what's to come. This is pretty wild that I am getting this stoked about the season and it's not even August. Hey Hamm, call me sometime. Coach Gonyea

Yeah, I know, Kinda bold, but that's the way we are going to be this season. Remember, we are only losing 1 starter from this last season. With the line-up we have coming back I am pretty optimistic about this coming season. But hey, what would you expect, I'm not going to root for another team... . This is definately going to be a fun season. I am looking forward to getting to see some other teams this year that we normally haven't been able to in years past. I know Hendersonville will be tough. But I also know we will be...wait till you see what we have.... "That was last year...this is this year."

What a long way off, but with the new region alignments, what are everyone's predictions for early favorites to attend the State Duals this year in Clarksville? I think this will definatley be an interesting year with TSSAA shaking up the mix this year. Also, there will be more teams attending this year won't there.
