  1. I've been watching this back and forth battle all night between you two, and I'm going to throw my two cents worth in on a couple of items. You probably won't like what I have to say, Catfish, but...TOUGH! First of all, the very last thing you ever want to do is bring a guys kid into an argument. I have 3 kids, and all of them are incredible athletes, so I dare anyone to bring mine into it! Next, age isn't a very smart topic either. Especially, for someone with your LIMITED knowledge and experience at anything more than, probably, how to flip burgers at this point in your life. I too played football in the mid-80's at Cookeville. I have a son who also played there. Don't think that just because we haven't played in 20 years that you know so much more than we do. I coach football in VA now, so I'm quite sure I know more than you. How does 3 years and only 3 losses grab you? No, I didn't go past high school as a player, but that doesn't really seem to matter. Does it? You lose that agrument. Case closed, new subject! As far as being up all night, you can pack that one away, also. As you can see, I'm up most of the night myself. Why? Because I am a network engineer in Northern VA, who chooses to work these hours, so I can coach football during the day. I'm a retired U.S. Marine, have seen more countries than you've seen states, most likely, and make twicw as much as you probably ever will. Guess what? No I didn't go to college, I learned about life the hard way...I LIVED IT!! So you see, Catfish, when you run your mouth about things you don't have any clue about, you tend to look like a blithering idiot! Just calling them like I see them. Again, if you don't like what I have to say, that's just too bad. LIFE'S TOUGH, WEAR A CUP!!
  2. Thanks for the update. LB is a good place for someone like him, because he is still able to intimidate receivers when they come over the middle on shallow routes. How is he as a QB? Runner, passer, or both? I had a kid that played for me this year that was the same way. All around great QB and not afraid to play DB. Hard to find both in the same body!
  3. No, they went 10-0 that year and ended up #2 in the polls behind MBA. Alot of the sportswriters at that game, that also saw MBA play, said that Cookeville was the best team in the state in the '67 season. Oh well, that's just the way polls go. That's why I think there should be playoffs at every level, including div. 1-A in college! If you're interested in the particulars of the game, the Herald-Citizen website has named it the #1 sports story for their 100th anniv. edition. It is detailed on the website at www.herald-citizen.com Just click on the 100th anniv link and go to sports.
  4. I have to agree with you. That kid is a stone cold killer over the middle! Thanks for the video Watch This!
  5. ALL RIGHTY THEN!!!! Where's big mouth? I mean bigballer? I guess he doesn't want to play anymore. Good! Now that I've said that, let's get on to the business at hand. First of all, disgustedfan, if you can't say anything good about as you call them, "your team", then save yourself 7 bucks for a ticket and about 10 bucks worth of gas, and stay at home! We don't need any fans like you. I haven't heard you say anything good about CHS, since I've been on this site! I'm even thinking about driving in from Northern VA just to watch my boys play next Friday. When you cut on these boys, you are treading on thin ice. Why? The rest of the Cav fans on this site take that personally, because most of us played at CHS, our Dads played at CHS, some of our sons played or are playing right now at CHS, and Fuggly's little brother is playing there right now. We have been Cavs ALL OUR LIVES!! No matter what the circumstances or their record. So, STAY HOME! Next, Wilson Central Dogg and any other WC or Lebo fans that have been bashing the Cavs, why don't you stick to something you know about, like say, sitting at the house for the third round of the playoffs! Anyone who thinks this won't be a close game, has lost their mind. The only way it won't is if R'dale does what they always have, and that is go after someone's knees! Don't say they don't, because they have done it ever since I was in school. This is something they really don't want to do to Cookeville, because the first time they try to cut John Ledford's or Gus Paxton's knees out from under them, the Cav's will rip them a new one! This team sticks together and backs each other like no other team in the state. I just don't understand why anyone thinks this is how you play football. To all of the other Cavs on here, keep doing what you're doing right now, and hopefully I will see you next Friday night in the Tomahawk!! GO CAVS!!
  6. Thanks! Well, I guess it's us and Riverdale in the 'Boro next Friday. My personal pain in the @ss when I was there in the mid-80's! Never could get by Riverdale.
  7. Thanks for the help guys. I'm sitting here listening to the Oak Ridge-Farragut game, hoping for updates.
  8. Hey guys, This will be my last post for the day as I am going to bed. I've been up at work all night. If you can call what I do work, but that's for another day. All I want to say is that, I can talk trash about my boys in Cav country all day, but I do hope that this is a good game. I agree with BBD and Fuggly, I think tonight will be a great game, and I hope there are no injuries, because at the end of the day those two things are all that matters. Some of these kids have a very good chance at taking it to the next level, and we don't want to see that chance disappear. Also, whitebluewhite, what is being said about the "clown coach" might just be a serious problem. I've been watching his posts for quite a while now, and I don't think he would throw something out there unless it was! He, like most all of us on this site, loves TN high school football. Most all of us played a the schools we back, and we have also had boys of our own that played at those same schools. Good luck Lebanon, and ROLL ON BIG RED CAVALIER MACHINE!! Keep me posted on anything you hear about tonight, because you know I live up here in VA and have no way of finding out the true scoop. See you guys later on.
  9. If anyone down home could give me a link to a web broadcast from one of the local stations, I would greatly appreciate it. As most of you know, I'm a former Cav, and I live in VA now. I would really like to hear this game, if possible. Thanks, stlrcoach
  10. That's it Cav's! We've got to stick together, because nobody else believes in us! Sweet post, Van D!
  11. Thanks 1headknocker & LionPride for remembering us. I am a retired Marine, and I also want to send a special thank you and a Happy 229th Birthday to all of my Brother Marines! A group of people who normally get overlooked deserve special thanks, and that is our wives/husbands and families. It is tougher on them, at times, than it is on us! Thanks again gents! The Steeler Coach
  12. Where did Libbey end up going? Haven't heard anything about him in a while. Of course, I'm in VA now, but I still try to keep up with things at home.
  13. Problem was, Honea couldn't stay off the sauce. Remember him coaching with the cigar sticking out of his face?
  14. Sorry, not you. I sent region4fan an email.
  15. Cooke-vegas baby! By the way, I dropped you an email already.
  16. I must admit, you were a pain in my rear for three years!
  17. Thanks for the update. I've noticed that your posts tend to lean toward the Cav's. Are you a current or former player? I played there in the mid-80's myself. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm old!
  18. No way! I can't wait to hear this! By the way, what ever came of the coach on a lift deal? Not trying to get off topic, but just wondering.
  19. No kidding! And to think, everyone says there's a Meth problem in Cookeville!
  20. Man, Fuggly! What is wrong with bigballer93? Doesn't he understand the power of the Big Red Machine?!? Sorry I won't be able to come home for the game Friday, but I really want to be there next week for the Riverdale game, once we get by lhs. By the way, if you are Van D, drop me an email. My yahoo acct. name is the same as this one. You played with my son in '02. I met you at the Homecoming Massacre. Until then, BRING IT ON HOME BIG RED!!!!

I don't know why everyone is complaining about Riverdale and their shady tactics. They've been doing things like this for years, and they've always gotten away with. When my son was playing in 2002, Riverdale was terrified of having to play Cookeville in round 3, so in round 2 the refs blew two obvious calls and Blackman won the game. I drove all the way from Northern Virginia to see my son and my team get the shaft! I still have the tape of that game and it DID happen that way! The powers that be at TSSAA want a Rutherford Co. team in the championship game, and that's just the way it goes! They've been getting away with murder since before I was even playing in the mid-80's. As far as the coaches lift goes, it is illegal. That's not why LHS beat Cookeville in the regular season though, because that game was in Cookeville, and we just got beat. No excuses, end of story! They're a stronger team now, so it will be a different outcome this Friday. Cav's by 10!
