  1. I graduated in 95. Was on the 94 State Championship team at Riverdale.
  2. I was wrong about how many seats Riverdale's stadium had in another thread. There you go a person from Riverdale admitting they are wrong. HA HA HA.
  3. Any news on the player from Franklin that was taken off the field on a strecther? I saw it on the news and he had both hands in the air. Was wondering how he was doing and if he will play this week? Hope so, it's always a scary sight to see a player taken off the field like that.
  4. No OR is not considered to be "Vandy" of this game. I would bet that they would beat Vandy. I haven't seen OR play this year but I have seen and played aganist them in the past. I know their reputation as a great football program and so do the Riverdale coaching staff and players. I know they have a legit shot against Riverdale. It's not going to be a cake walk for either team and it shouldn't be. This is the Semi-Finals, it's the game that gets you to "THE GAME". Neither team should overlook the other. I wouldn't mind if the final score was 7-6 or 10-7, as long as Riverdale is on the winning end. Look forward to a great game, I only wish it could snow like last year but I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen.
  5. Coach Fields is great! I've known him since I was 5 when he was umpiring my T-Ball games and he coached me in football and basketball. The funny thing about Coach Fields is that he is nice enough to let out-of-towners stay at his place, even if they are OR fans.
  6. The place was full, but not everyone sat in the stands. There were plenty of people standing around the fence and had they sat in the stands it would have been full with others still standing along the fence. I was disappointed in the Riverdale crowd in the first half, especially in the 1st quarter, it sounded like a Cookeville home game. The Cookeville crowd was much louder and into the game more than the Riverdale crowd. I have no doubt that the OR fans will bring enough to fill the visitors side plus a bunch more. I know when OR came to MTSU in 1994, the OR fans filled up the visiting side of the old MTSU stadium. I know there was over 10,000 at that game. I don't think there will be that many this year because Riverdale's place only holds 5,500 so get there early to get a good seat.
  7. I apologize for the Riverdale fans that get out of hand. As a former player I support the Riverdale program. Still, it seems that some of us can't control what they say on here or will do anything to prove one team is better than the other. I hope that we all can remember that we have nothing to do with the outcome of this game coming up on Friday. All we can do is support our team. What we say on here isn't going to give either of these teams a victory. I hope that both teams are injury free this week and during the game next week and that all Oak Ridge fans have a safe trip to and from Murfreesboro.
  8. I can promise you Oak Ridge Cat that I will be civil, but I can't speak for every one. You can't control everyone, only hope. If next Friday is anything like the game last year at Oak Ridge I will be very happy. I'm talking about the quality of the game, not who wins. I will say that I will be there rooting for Riverdale, but I will not disrespect the Oak Ridge team. I know they are a great team and I expect a great football game between two to the best football programs in the history of Tennessee High School football. Thanks to you and Oakland for understanding my mistake earlier on starting this thread when another had been started.
  9. Never mind I'm an idiot. Someone has already started this thread. Forgive me!
  10. I know last years game was a great game to the end with Riverdale winning 17-13 in a little snow shower at Oak Ridge. What does everyone think about this one?
  11. Just a few things from a Warrior fan. I was disappointed that the Riverdale players threw the spear a second time close to the Cookeville players. I don't agree with it and I can understand why Cookeville fans would be upset. I like how they walk on to the field, it shows confidence and arrogance (Riverdale haters will say mostly arrogance) but put the spear in the R and move on. Now about the game. There was a poster earlier in the thread that said he wasn't impressed by Miller or Thomas. Saying that Miller is only alittle better than Paxton. Both averaged 7 yards a carry last night, I don't know about you but I will take 7 yards a carry in the 3rd round of the playoffs any day. And Riverdale is not a throwing team so Thomas isn't going to impress you with his passing stats. He does return punts, kickoffs, and playes defensive back. He does things that don't always make it to the stat column. And that same poster said that "Miller has a better line or talent around him to get him those yards." I agree that Riverdale's line is better than Cookeville's, but Riverdale's line did have a ton of holding penalties which means that Cookeville's D was very good and aggresive and caused the O line to hold. One thing that poster didn't mention was the Riverdale defense. Miller ran for 175 on 24 carries and a TD against a very good defense, while Paxton ran for 24 on 15 carries against a BETTER D! I would say that with those stats Miller is a WAY better back than Paxton. Riverdale's defense gave up a touchdown in over 2 months or 43 quarters to be exact and 58 seconds from being 44. You may not be impressed with Miller, who every time he was stood up and pushed back last night didn't go down even with several Cookeville players trying to tackle him, but you have to admit that he is more than just "alittle better than Paxton". Congratulations to Cookeville players, coaches, and students on a great season and Good Luck to Riverdale next Friday aganist Oak Ridge.
  12. First of all I want to say that I am a former Riverdale player and I do support and defend the Riverdale football program, top to bottom. With that being said, I don't know if this is really Dave, I hope not. If this is Dave, come on man! You are better than this. I understand that you are upset about getting hit late and it would upset me too! I read Heath's post, if that was him and if he wants to talk trash from his couch, LET HIM! Like you said he is at home and you are still playing. You are a great player and I, along with many others, enjoy watching you and the rest of the Warrior team play. As a player you represent your team, the school, and the community. I do feel that some opponents (not all) have tried to take shots at you, because thats the only way they feel they can beat Riverdale. Don't get me wrong I am on your side here, but you've got to be the bigger person in this situation. The Smyrna game is over and you have another challenge this Friday. Good Luck this Friday.
