It is kind of funny that most of the crap people say to each other on this thread comes from people who never played football or basketball for either of these schools. The players and coaches from both schools over the past 50 years or more enjoyed the competition. These players and coaches respected each other and had fun over the years and most now work with each other, go to church together and their children have probabley married someone from the other county. I like people from both counties, but it is getting old hearing the junk coming from this thread especially from non-atheletes. You had your chance to get into the rivalry during your high school years and you chose not to, so let it go now that your no longer in school.

Bledsoe played well, but you have to remember that it was against a team that has not won a game all year, and probably will not win all year!!! Sequatchie will not improve till they develop a middle school program where they win more than 1 game a year. Bledsoe 's offense is still too predictable to compete against quality schools. Heard that watson's knee does not seem to be as bad as first reported and that he will have an MRI next week. That is good news, chris is a great all around kid.

If the secondary shows up and plays; York 16- Bledsoe County 22 If they play like they did last Friday night; York 26- Bledsoe County 22 I hope Bledsoe wins this game but I just don't see that happening until Bledsoe addresses their problems in the secondary. York will score 4 touchdowns,all in the air!!!

Bledsoe looked really good tonight on offense, and i really liked the play calling alot better than in recent years. Defensive line looked great but there is trouble brewing in the secondary. If Bledsoe runs into a team with an average to above average passing game they are in trouble. Great game Bledsoe!!!

our county has 1 high school, and 1 middle school, and in seperate buildings only 200 feet apart from each other. We wanted to let the 8th grade girls play with the high school in volleyball since the middle school did not offer volleyball. Gene Menes at TSSAA said they could not because they were not in the same building and did not have the same principal.

you are exactly right, the eighth grader must be in the same building and be under the same principal as the high school players.

you have been trying to get the coach from blackman hired on every thread. Either you are the coach or his wife. If not let him get a job himself, i am tired of seeing his resume on every thread of basketball

he is the only player they had. If he was not there, they would not have won half their games. Cody will not be able to carry them by himself at the high school level like he did at middle school. There are not many kids 6' 5" in middle school, but there are alot in high school.

YES, a non-faculty coach can be the head coach if they have 5 years of experience as an assistant coach, AND there is NOT a faculty member who wants the job!!!

Did you say scouting? I am sure that you meant scouting the opposition, because public schools cannot recruit (scout) players and get away with it like private schools.

they are not junior high, rhea central is a middle school in dayton, tn----ocoee is a middle school from bradley county.

Let's see--- Coach Webb wins 20 games, takes his team to the state tournament; Coach Roberts wins 4 games, doesn't even qualify for the district tournament.--- now whose coaching style seems to be a good fit? Do not get me wrong, i am not against coach roberts, but to say that these middle school coaches do not have the ability is wrong. They have been coaching against the same teams the high school coaches are coaching against except the middle schools are winning. Jasper, Bledsoe, and Sequatchie middle schools play the same teams, win at least 15 games a year out of 20, and each has made state tournament appearences and have conference championship banners hanging in the gym. It just bothers me to hear people treat middle schol coaches like they are not "real" coaches. Some of the best in the state work in middle schools. Just giving my two cents worth, not trying to ruffle any feathers.

I have not started a rumor about coach roberts. The question on the thread is who is on the hot seat? Only winning 3 or 4 games a year i believe would qualify someone to be on the hotseat. I said in my post that i believe he will still be there if he wants it. BUT if he does not then i believe grant will get the job .

Jasper- girls position is open to anyone that will take it. Boys should be Webb, he is the best person for the job, a super person and coach. If the current coach turns it down for next year snipe will be the new coach. Bledsoe- The coaches are not going anywhere, the administration is content just to have a team. Unless the coaches quit on their own they will be there as long as they want. Whitwell- Both coaches will be there next year. S. Pitt- Both coaches will stay. Sequatchie- Both coaches won coach of the year, they will not retire at sequatchie for about 40 years. There job is safe. There are several great middle school coaches in the valley that schools should look at for high school positions. These guys know what they are doing, it would be fun to see them compete aainst each other at the high school level.Grant Webb at Jasper middle. Chris Cagle at Sequatchie middle, and Mark Cagle at Bledsoe middle.

I will agree to that!!! Thanks for being understanding, now if the rest of the chatt schools would accept the valley teams as partners in this district and region instead of looking down at them as step-children maybe we could all work together to make this region one of the top three in the state.
