  1. Camden was in Quad 4 along with Milan, Westview, Manassas, Lewis Co, Stewart Co, Fairview and Oakhaven. Camden was in the pod with Lewis co, Manassas and Westview. The Lions played Lewis co 1st round, Westview 2nd round and then met Milan in the quarterfinals. Gonna be hard for Camden, Westview and Milan to stay away from each other in z plan because of geography, the lack of 3A teams in rural West TN, and the weakness of the Memphis teams. Not much hope of wildcards from West Tn pushing Camden into Quad 3.
  2. Have no fear, Coach Ward desn't mess around with district games. The Lions will be ready for any "physical fight" the Rebels wanna dish out. I wouldn't suggest though that they make Camden's #75 angry....you wouldn't like him when he's angry.
  3. Camden too?? Are you sure? I'll be very interested to see how this one turns out. Hope both teams are injury free when the game is done.
  4. Now if we could just get a little better blocking down field...
  5. Camden still has a lot of work to do to make a long run to the 'Ville and that work starts against the Rebels this week. Hopefully the Lions can really work on the mental aspects and get some bumps and bruises rested and healed up in the next few weeks. Let's take it to the Rebs...Go LIONS!
  6. Wouldn't suprise me a bit for these two to see each other again down the road. Good luck the rest of the season.
  7. I guess you could also say that Camden let it remain closer than it should have been with a fumble in the red zone and an interception. I'd say both teams have plays and penalties they wish they could do over.
  8. Congrats to the Tigers...way to end the streak! Now it's time to head that streak in the opposite direction
  9. Whew!! Just glad to come outta this one alive and somewhat in one piece. Ugly game in the trenches with the refs pulling both teams into a huddle on the field (never have seen that one before)to warn them about the extracurricular stuff going on...eventually resulted in a couple personal foul calls for both sides and a game ejection for a Westview player. Hate to see that kinda stuff go on...but it was a hard fought game on both sides for all 4 quarters. The Lions had too many mental errors and allowed the Chargers to hang around too long and it nearly cost them the game. Camden has a lot to work on and I'm sure that will be thoroughly "discussed" during film break down this week. Westview's D is for real... just glad to have this one behind us. Go LIONS!
  10. Dude...seriously?? Camden and Westview are worried about playing each other this Friday and no one else, especially Alcoa. And I am equally sure Westview, Milan, GP, Camden...etc. are the last thought in Alcoa's minds. Alot of ballgames left to play to start this kind of thread. If a young Milan team gets it together and turns it on toward playoff time I hope they ban you from the stadium 'cause with fans like you, Milan doesn't need enemies.
  11. I have to agree...Camden hasn't played their best yet. I just hope this week is when their best shows up because they are going to need their best to beat a very good Westview team. Comparing games against McKenzie is not a true measuring stick since, as I understand it, Westview's stud QB was out for 2 quarters and still nearly carried the team on his back to a W in the waning moments. It's true that the Lions have an adundance of playmakers this season, but sometimes all it takes is one player taking over a game to turn the tide. Contain their QB, and maybe things go the Lion's way but to be honest, I won't feel good about this one until it's in the books. Going to be a huge crowd on hand Friday...Camden celebrates the 2010 AA State Champion Lady Lion softball team at halftime with a championship ring ceremony. Should be a great night with a loud crowd and two good teams battling it out to the end...I wouldn't miss it, it's gonna be a good'un! Go Lions!
  12. Coming off a big win against Milan, Westview travels to Camden in a big West TN showdown of two teams with high post-season expectations. Who takes it?
  13. I think Camden had the clones of you guys' officials over at Harpeth...Good gosh it was like a yellow confetti parade over there. Never saw so much one-sided laundry fly in my life. The zebras saw alot more action tonight than Camden did that's for sure. If the ump doesn't have tendinitis in his "throwing" arm it wasn't for lack of trying. BTW congrats to the Rebs on the W
  14. Couldn't have happened to a finer young man. Can't wait to see that big ol' smile running through the T tomorrow!
  15. Had to bump this one... In a nostalgic mood and this is one of my all time favorite threads...Del you are a classic
  16. Final Camden 41 Harpeth 0 If you are a Camden fan you have to feel good about the possibilities for this year's team. The Lions have had some depth at playmaking positions before, but nothing like what we've seen so far this season. I honestly think the Lions are 19 deep at the RB position. There is a fresh set of legs nearly every play it seems with little or no difference in speed or talent. Lining up in the I, from the shotgun, mixing in the Wing T... and did Camden really pass the ball with success?? Impressive so far...but Westview will be a big test next week. What was with the refs in this one?? Someone who was there, was there really that many legit false starts and holding calls against Camden or did the refs just need to swallow their whistles? Also, "illegal use of the hands" multiple times?? Seriously? Oh well didn't change the outcome but it wasn't for lack of trying. Hopefully the Lions can bounce back and limit the mental mistakes (if there truly were some) against a very tough opponent next week. Great job guys! Go LIONS!
  17. ....if you posted on this thread in multiple years and don't remember what you posted even when you look through all 23 pages to find what you didn't remember saying ...if you think about posting something about the game on Facebook and realize no one will know what you are talking about so you go post it on CoachT.
  18. He is entertaining in a very annoying kinda way.
  19. Thanks McReb....as far as I know Murph made it out alive and fighting and not to mention MAD! Two games of chop blocks tend to get under your skin. I feel sorry for the next ones... That boy is gonna make someone pay and it ain't gonna be pretty. Good luck to you guys...nice job taking down Westview. Hopefully we'll do as well next week against them. But, in the meanwhile, the Lions have got some Indians to scalp this week first
  20. Camden travels to Harpeth for the first time since the 47-0 playoff beatdown the Indians gave Camden in 2000. Times have certainly changed and the Lions come in as the favorite. What happens in this 11AA showdown?
  21. Bruceton is MUCH improved from last season and they've got some serious athletes too...actually held Camden's big play offense to some 3 and outs early in the game. Size and numbers were a big factor though... Glad to see the refs finally at least find their whistles in this game and quit letting Camden's #75 be chop blocked out of every play. At this rate, if Murphy survives the season with his knees and ankles intact, it will be a miracle. Hopefully the refs will be made aware to really start watching out for that...that young man's future football career is being put on the line with every snap. Anyway, off my soapbox... Bruceton is definitely headed in the right direction and is going to surprise some teams this year I think.
  22. Congrats to the Rebels! I knew this one was going to go alot differently than most thought! Rebs are for real
  23. I wouldn't hate on McKenzie's offense...they have a good line and a a do everything athlete at QB. The Rebels will be a MUCH better test for Westview's D than H'Town was.
  24. Camden handled the Tigers of Hollow Rock pretty easily last season. Rinse and repeat? Or can it be a test for the Lions?
