It is unfortunate that each school that I have been to this year to watch a Basketball game has a few fans, be it students, or parents, that make the school look bad. Yeah, we have a few at McEwen like most other schools, who make the rest of us look bad. But, like most other schools, most of the fans are good, decent folks. I have alot of respect for all the boys and girls who play basketball. They put in a tremendous amount of time into this game all year round. Let's make sure we treat them all with the respect they deserve, when they are playing well, and when they are not. As for the McEwen students who kicked the car, if this happened, shame on you and please don't come watch our team play ever again. We don't need you there.

McEwen is no longer a one man team. They have had three different players who have scored over twenty points in three games (Puckett, Smith and Elrod). They have also had a different high scorer in each of the three games thusfar (same three, Puckett, Smith and Elrod). They were a bit sloppy last night - too many bad passes, but they have potential to go far this year!

McEwen was very young team last year. They are much improved. They played a scrimmage last night - Most points were scored by Trey Smith, a junior forward. Puckett and Elrod also did well. Puckett will not bring ball down court this year, think it wil be Elrod.

I believe Elrod is strating point guard. Lagan will come off the bench to relieve Elrod. Both are good ball handlers, shooters and defensive players.

Puckett will not bring the ball down court this year. Elrod, a Junior, will be the point guard. He can handle the pressure. Other starters are Smith, Diviney and Hatcher. All starters this year have lots of experience from last year. Great strong bench this year as well.
